Green Solar

Shady sales practices and horrible customer service- they take your money and don't care about you after that!! RUN!!
We used Encor solar to install panels this year. We had only been in our new house 5 wks but the sale guy created a system without asking for historical bills or waiting like he should have. Since the panels were turned on, our kwh usage has doubled and even tripled for some months. At first they wanted to say that we don't have enough panels then they came back and said their estimates were higher than what we are using. I cannot get timely return emails or phone calls! They will not send someone out to check on the issue and they are saying I have to wait to get 12 months of bills so I can go through the whole process again to add more panels and pay for those! Which is the problem, Encor? I need more panels because your sales guy didn't build the system correctly and told us our bill would be "wiped out" or are the estimates correct?

I was Introduced to the renewable programs when Frankie came to my home to explain them to me. She was very polite and informative so we scheduled a meeting with Technician Erik Koob. He was great in helping us understand how solar worked and walked us through the whole process. We have had our system for about 8 months now and the wife and I are truly happy we made this great decision! Overall Encor Solar is a great company to work with! -Mark Zamora, Austin Texas

Encore has made going solar incredibly easy! From the first person who knocked on our door to the system up and running, it has been nothing but a pleasure. I'm sorry that I can't remember the first persons name, he was great, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, just a good person.

Or representative, Eric Koob, has been fantastic, keeps on top of things, shares information, again, a great experience.

I've been wanting to go solar for years, but working with Encore has made even better than I'd hoped!

The permits were sent in the month of October. The roof work was done rather quickly. It is now January 2nd and the furnace thermostats for the too furnaces in my house have still not been installed. I have spoken of this matter to the salesman who sold us the system. I bought the matter to the attention of the installers on several occasions. I sent a email to the office

Craig Christianson has provided excellent customer service via status reports as well as answering our questions. I am impresses with his professionalism, knowledge and interest in meeting our needs. The work completed by other members of the Encore Solar Team has been very responsive in moving our project through the required steps. I am impressed with the efficiency demonstrated. At this point in the install (Panel Placement Review/Approval) I am thoroughly satisfied with our purchase decision. Larry Hopkins 10-27-2018

VERY disappointed. Encor came to my house several months ago and explained that we were eligible for solar. My husband and I were not in a financial position where we could take on any crazy payments but our rep assured us that there was no 鈥渃atch鈥?and that everything would balance out in our benefit. While our electric bill has been lowered, to our surprise we鈥檝e come to find that we are now also responsible for the monthly loan payment on the panels (= $57/month in addition to electric bill). I feel completely taken advantage of, considering I sat on the couch with the Encor rep for almost 2 hours, repeatedly asking what we should expect to pay monthly and if there were any catches or other financial components we should factor in. He made it sound like everything would be rolled into one and that we would be paying on average $64/month year round. I would encourage Encor to train their reps to mention that very large piece of information, especially with people who are completely new to the solar world. It may be a sales tactic or it may seem obvious to the reps but I assure you it was not obvious to us. Will not be recommending this business.

I inherited this home with Encor Solar after the recent death of my cousin Gilbert Conwoop. I am not sure how it works. E-bills amounts (City of Austin) are increasing.

I found the salesman George kind of confusing. He didn鈥檛 really start with information about the solar system. He was more interested in talking about the future possibilities and his work with WAPA and FERC and about establishing a CCA. Really over my head and didn鈥檛 get a good feel for the system. In the end I went with another company.

Everything has been installed and it's up and working. I really haven't seen a big difference in my power bill yet but I will keep track. One thing that is still not complete is the lock box that is supposed to be installed on the outside of the fence for access to the meters. Who is supposed to install it so I can contact them?

My system has been installed for over a month and yet inoperable because it lacks a meter on the electrical box and some other electrical pieces that are required in the main box to function. All I get are excuses about the parts being on back order and your electrician indicated having all the necessary parts on an earlier date when I was unable to have him work on the problem because other people were working on my home upgrades and needed the electricity to work. Your electrician simply indicated he would return on a later date the following week and that never took place. As of today, I have an inoperable system installed that serves me no benefit. What are you going to do about this problem?

I love my solar set up and the installation company, but the sales end was not a good experience. The sales rep that went to my house was pushy and did not want to give me time to discuss the large purchase with my partner, before committing. They said that time was running out for being able to receive rebates and it would be best to sign up on the spot. The next person that took over my account helped me to roll roofing into my loan, but 4 months after the installation was complete (and I had been making loan payments), the roofer had not been paid. Due to the inability to have anyone from Encor call me back, the owner of Lighthouse Solar actually worked with Encor on my behalf until the issue was handled. Even then, I never received an acknowledgement or apology from Encor.

Prior to the sale Encor provided a wealth of good information, and worked hard to earn my business by offering a highly competitive price. However, after the sale I found I was frustrated by the lack of information about the installation, activation of the system, etc. Had it not been for the installation company stepping in to keep me informed I would have been much in the dark. Pre-sale, I give Encor a 5, but factoring in the post sale I would say they should work on their communication.

Lack of communication. There was confusion regarding financing and who was paying. Also, the sales pitch was that I would never pay an electric bill again. I have yet to see that. Maybe after the winter I will have enough credtis to not pay electric next summer, but that is misleading to say the least

When I say credits, I do not mean tax credits. I mean that over the winter I am supposed to generate more power than I use, thus the electric company will be 'paying' me in a credit balance
