I was on a call this morning with CSR this morning. I believe his name is Rob. He was excellent. He went over all the details of my call, I had received a replacement phone and needed help with setting it up. He never lost his patience know matter how many questions I asked. His customer service was superb. Judith Clark

Just purchased a flip for my mother-in-law and after 45 minutes of setting up via phone customer service, she kept saying both of our cards we were trying to use both showed up as fraudulent!! Called our bank, she put in the wrong exp date 3 times on one card and the other showed it went through but for some reason she reversed it out 3 times with it saying the same thing! Funny thing is that it went through the first time according to my bank! Taking phone back and will use a different company now. What a pain!!

Customer Service is awesome! I would say that some seniors like my dad should stay with the flip phone and not have a touch device. My dad has trouble swiping up to get to the home screen. The smart phone serves me well, but too many apps stay open, and I have to use the task manager to close applications. Still, great service, and great simple interface.

My mom was having trouble navigating her iPhone and bought a Jitterbug flip phone to replace it December 2017. Within the course of 6 months we were on her 3rd phone due to the other two failing. This third phone鈥檚 caller ID feature would not work, and with all of the spam callers calling, she was very frustrated. Great Call kindly upgraded her to a Smart Phone 2, saying it had stronger service. But it has less coverage than the flip phone. Mom has to go to her porch in order to get service on her phone.

The phone has no features to block spam phone calls. The phone has no features to block spam texts. I feel this should be very important to include in this day and age. How many times has she called me to say she asked the kind lady from the SS office who needed to verify her number so she wouldn鈥檛 be arrested my number because I handle her business affairs.

The phone overall is clumsy for Mom to use and very slow to load pages. Often voicemails won鈥檛 even play beyond the first one or two seconds. She has no use for Bluetooth features so we turn it off. However it automatically is turned back on upon a reboot of the phone.

The Great Call app for the phone is a joke. It supposedly will let me know when Mom is 鈥渙ut and about鈥?but it is very inaccurate. I鈥檓 currently visiting my mom and last night at 1:00 AM I was notified she was at her doctor鈥檚 office; she wasn鈥檛. She was in bed asleep. Numerous exchanges with a courteous customer service rep by email have offered no solutions at all.

All but two of the many customer reps with whom I鈥檝e spoken have been great. Unfortunately, the product lags far behind what it should produce. Sadly, this is the best phone I have been able to find for my 85 year old mom, who two years ago was diagnosed with Alzheimer鈥檚. Anyone else have better success with another company?

The phone is easy to use & I like the ease of taking pictures.
The Customer Service is almost non-existent. I had a problem & contacted Great Call. The representative asked if I had read the handbook and/or watched the videos. They talked to me a little bit but then referred me to a service that I would have to pay for.
Another time I e-mailed a question about use in Canada & did not get any reply. I am ready to change to another service.

Would rate a zero, takes advantage of the elderly! Company should be ashamed of themselves.

I would rate 0 stars if I could. We bought this phone thinking it be a great fit for my senior father. I am his caregiver and POA , they entered the wrong expiration For the card on the account. They constantly called to ask why. Once we figured it out they would not fix it. I can not make this up. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They are sarcastic and clearly do not want to solve problems they created. I wish we had never got him this service. Beware anyone who wants to try it. They could NOT pay me to deal with their drama. They do NOT care about seniors.

I ordered a phone for my dad. the phones are made really cheap. they don't have a phone log so you can look up a number that called you. also the speaker isnt any louder than the regular phones. Also when I requested to send the phone back they told me they don't provide return labels. He is on Social security as is most of there customers and they can't provide a return label. Horrible.

This company has terrible reviews so buyer beware. I am writing this review for my 96 year old Mother and her terrible experience with Jitterbug and Great Call. The phone itself is not user friendly for the elderly. As far as Great Call we keep canceling the service and they continue to bill my Mother. She has not used the phone or the service for two years. Trying to cancel the service by phone does not work. The representatives are rude. We are going to put the cancellation in writing and certify the letter to try and stop the billing. Shouldn鈥檛 be this difficult to cancel a service.

We purchased a Great Call Jitterbug phone for my 92 yr old mother-in- law last year. After reading the reviews it seemed like it would meet her criteria for an east to use flip phone with great coverage (Verizon). Coverage is not my issue with Great Call it is that customer service as it related to software issues is my beef. We had two software issues in the last year . 1st the voice activation feature to pull up a stored contact list didnt work for more than 3 months. Now it seems that any pictures sent with texts sporadically arrive to this phone. Great Call is aware of this issue and has been for two months. They do not know when it will be fixed according to customer service. Come on Great Call- really software issues with no notice that goes on for months….not acceptable.

My elderly family member ordered this Jitterbug flip phone. She likes its display and ease of use but there are several issues. First they quoted her $15 per month but its really $22 after taxes. The 5 star emergency button costs extra to activate. When it is plugged in and charging it beeps so loud the whole time she cannot sleep at night. She called about the beeping and was told to turn sound off while charging- not a good solution for a forgetful senior. She gets random spam text messages on brand new phone number that cost.10 each.

I've had 3 different phones. The first 2 were flip phones. The last one is a smartphone. My service on the first 2 was fair but this last one, a smartphone is the worst! I can't call anyone because I always lose my signal. I'm switching companies. And the owners need to get rid of John Walsh on the tv advertisements! He's nothing but a "want to be cop" making ALL senior citizens appear to be STUPID!! If I need help I will dial 911 NOT 5STAR!!! Seniors are NOT
STUPID and I take great offense to his commercials.

This a good smartphone for seniors. Easy to set up and user friendly. Once you set up a GreatCall account, the website is easy to use/update, though a bit slow.

My family member loves the new phone and is getting the hang of switching from the Apple iPad to The Android Jitterbug Smartphone2!

This phone will give you peace of mind, as there is emergency Star5* help, if ever needed by your loved one.

I have a great call cell phone with their 5 star emergency service. This is my only phone. Two weeks ago my phone stopped working. I went to their website and completed their email form for customer service. I received no response. I decided to just buy a new phone. When I went to activate it, I found that existing customers can't activate a new phone on their website – you have to call them. How are you supposed to do that if your only phone isn't working? I finally got the phone activated, but now I've had no service for two days. Again, no way to call them. I've emailed them twice with no response whatsoever. They have absolutely no concern for their customers whatsoever. I'll be switching to another phone service ASAP. I just wish I had seen all the bad reviews online for this company before I ever got involved with them.

My Great Call smart phone is without a doubt the worst phone I have ever owned. Text messages are deleted before you have a chance to read them, pictures never come through, customer service constantly advise you to turn the phone off, and turn it back on. You will have the same problems when you turn it back on. It is not a simple phone at ALL! I rate it a Negative 1!!

You get a 1 because you don't have a half. My father past away in a Home. I purchased him a new phone in April due to COVID 19 I did not see my father since March 19th. I did not expect that I would never see him again until 2 hours before he died last week 7-7-2020. The phone I got him went to the home but they could not assist him with the activation. It is still in the shipping box and I had to wait until both phones were together. That NEVER HAPPENED! Great Call will not return it even for partial credit. I have no use for it According to Great Call it has a 30 day return policy. During what is going on and I know that all the addresses are on Earth they are clueless or just do not care! So if your parent or someone elderly stay away from Great Call and their 5 STAR CRAP! I think they do not realize that elderly people need help and my Dad could not call except from the address book in his phone as I never thought we would be locked away from each other forever!

I'm elderly and I have both the phone and their 5 star emergency service. This is my only phone, which stopped working. When I went on their website to try to purchase a new phone, it said I have to call them. Because I'm already a customer I can't just purchase and activate a phone online. So – now I have no phone, no emergency service, and no way to replace the phone. If they're going to provide emergency alert services, you'd think they'd have a chat function on their website.

The Jitterbug flip phone for seniors is a user friendly phone with big buttons that are easy to see. This has been the only cell phone my 90 year old mother can even begin to understand how to use and operate. Customer service has been good thus far.

I have just purchased and activated the GreatCall service. This includes research in selecting GreatCall, purchasing via phone call, and working with customer service to set up the account and activate the phone service. Personnel were courteous and competent. The instruction material is thorough and understandable. The smartphone is a quality product. Things were done right on the first effort. Pricing is excellent.

My mom has fallen 5 times in the last 3 months and never once did the fall detection work. We found her in the yard laying by her walker last week. Thank God she had only been there a few minutes. When I hit the button after her last fall to see if it worked, they answered and told me that it had never shown a fall all 5 times she fell and told me to insist they send a new pendant. They gave me a phone number to call and when I called I got the worst customer representative I have ever talked with, talking over me and not letting me tell what happened, just went on the defensive immediately. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The customer reps are very ugly when you mention you have a grievance and try to tell you everything your parent is doing wrong. The pendant doesn't do anything unless you hit the button, That is NOT fall detection and in my mom's case, when she fell all 5 times, she was not coherent enough to push the button. PLEASE do not trust these people with your loved ones,,,Please!!!! I would give them no stars if that was possible.

I Purchased a Jitterbug( Android) phone in 2018. After 6 months it got stuck on Airplane mode and they sent me another phone. today is June 1, 2020 and the same thing has happened. The phone has never been dropped or misused in any way yet I'm supposed to purchase another phone and pay the bill. I refused to do so because it this is an ongoing problem then why would I be fool enough to buy another one. The customer service agents try to talk over you and then disconnect when you disagree with them. This problem needs to be fixed and my money refunded. I am going to mail this phone to the corporate office in San Diego, Ca Do not buy this phone it is a rip off for Seniors.

These people have been a nightmare to deal with, and the phone is crap. Mine has been replaced twice and it still doesn't work. I haven't been able to take photos for months. The service rep just told me that the photo feature is "not something I pay for"?!?! Another rep told me it was a software issue and they were looking into it. This was 3 months ago. Another issue: When I call anyone, my number shows up with someone else's name. A different rep told me that that person owns that number and they couldn't do anything about it. Unbelievable. As soon as the quarantine lifts, I'm gonna have to go phone shopping. I have no choice. Dealing with Greatcall Jitterbug has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Please don't make the mistake of dealing with these people.

Got this plan for my mother. When she missed her first bill due to it being sent to my home by mistake, they called and were very disrespectful. I recommended training dealing with elderly and warned I wouldn鈥檛 tolerate that a second time. Bill was supposed to be 45$ mo. Her last bill was 258$ due to 鈥渙verages. Beware, this company is predatory. All calls, incoming, and outgoing use your minutes. So all scam calls, that access your voice mail, all Medicare calls which can be many weekly…it all uses a persons minutes. They charge 32 cents a minute if you go over your plan.
Needless to say we had to pay the bill, but they lost out on repeat business. So enjoy, your 258$ Great Call, you could have gotten years worth. Also, The flip phones are absolute trash. Never could get it to work right. No reason such a simple phone should have so many issues. I鈥檇 give it no stars if able. Try Consumer Cellular instead.
