CareCredit

My husband and I have had a carecredit card for almost 2 years now. We have not used the account in 2 months and they canceled the card randomly with no reasoning. Our credit took a huge hit from this. If you are not going to use the card 24/7 DO NOT get the card. On the bright side our credit limit was 200 which is super low considering we have upper 700 credit scores and very decent income. Spare yourself the hassle and look for other financing options.

Let's start with, I am a doctor who offers this card to my patients to assist them with the care they need. I am appalled at the lack of respect, short, curt and downright rude tone that I received from multiple supervisors, while calling on behalf of a patient. One including cutting me off when about to compliment her on finally "fixing" a mistake her colleague made. You would think especially during times like these that the entire staff, supervisors included would have the decency to speak with someone with respect. DISGUSTING.

This absolute garbage predatory card completely tanked my credit score I took 2 years to get to 750. I have a 614 now– the hard inquiry docked me 48 points, and the rest was because my CareCredit "utilization rate" was about 90%– before I'd even activated the card or knew I had any balance! They literally dont even notify you when your card opens and closes. If I'd known all of this I would have just taken my L and paid for my procedure up front– or used my great credit to open a regular card or get a loan. I am FUMING, this card and company sucks! 1

Got this card to assist with a dental procedure – looked at my statement and there was over $2000 in interest added due to their "promotion" ending. Should give the customer a heads up before throwing that much onto their balance. I'm sure this was explained to me TWO YEARS ago. Dirty Business in my opinion.

I'm essentially going to have to pay over $5000 on a $4000 loan. They are all over the place even their managers. I was told I could have deferred payments after covid hit and could pay remaining balance by October. Even managers were extremely rude. What is the point of saying calls are recorded when you can't easily access the recordings? Or listen to them accurately. This company sucks! SCAMMERS!

I am also very disappointed with the customer service at carecredit. I called twice about questions with my credit card statement and both times I didn't get the help I needed. The agents I talked to seem so unknowlegeable. They also talked down on me as I was trying to get assistance related to financial hardship from covid. The first agent told me they weren't even offering help, when it clearly says that on their website. Come armed with cold facts if you have to call them. They will just make up something to get you off the phone. So unhappy! Would not use them again after I manage to close these accounts!

Contrary to what Carecredit has on their website, they are not offering any assistance with Covid beyond deferring a payment for a month. No interest assistance or offer with promotions, nothing. Their call centers are not even out of the US in the middle of the day, it is often problematic to communicate an issue with their staff.

Carecaredit wants to get you on the hook for any amount of cash and charge you crazy interest for years.

Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely horrible company. The Animal Medical Center "mistakenly" entered 24 months for 26 APR (more than my current credit card), and not the 6 month interest fee I requested. I called both AMC and care credit, neither would give me a credit for the interest charged. Interest that was charged before a month. I can't tell if its neglect, apathy or scam charging, whatever the case I wont be using it again. I intend to sign up for the Wells Fargo Health Advantage Card, which others have told me is less predatory.

The oral surgeon promoted the care credit promotion of no interest if paid off in 12 months. I signed up for autopay using their calculator of amount needed per month to pay in full by the year. Somewhere along the line, it changed to minimum due. I never noticed it because I got e-statements and my email said my auto payment had paid. No indicator of amount. So, I now owed more than the original amount. Be aware of these promotions.

I had their card for 10 years, made payments on time, even got it to a zero balance. One day out of the blue, they close my account. The Customer Service agents tells me they looked at my credit and I didn't have a mortgage, so they decided to close my account. Before you assume, no there wasn't anything negative on my credit with all three credit agencies. The Customer Service agent said there is nothing they could do and promptly dismissed me after 10 years. Synchrony bank has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered.

6 months 0% interest actually means 6 months deferred interest. I woke up to find a nearly 1k charge on my account. Technically this is my fault but the distinction (which was not made clear) made a huge difference In value. There were other more affordable options at multiple points from financing through the provider, using a card with a lower apr, transferring balance to a card with a real 0% rate, HELOC, cash… lots of things you should consider before laying down with this dog.

Gave it 2 stars ONLY because it helped save my cats life last July. Other than that, I would give it 0 for the way they screwed me.
Had an $800 limit. Used it for an emergency vet situation for our poor kitty. Paid off the almost $700 in the 6 month interest free period. Didn't use for 6 months and I look at my credit score the other day and it went down 40 & 50 points because they closed the account! How dare them! On time payments. Credit was being built. I was saving that card for my cat because he has bladder issues & I was also waiting for my dentist office to open in order to get my painful tooth fixed. How can I have 100% on time payments on all credit cards, and especially cards through their company and because I didn't use it for 6 months(I thought having a low or no balance was a good thing for credit scores) they close my oldest account and now my credit score is so bad I can't even get the loan I was about to get for a new vehicle. This can't be legal to do to someone! They don't take into consideration my good income: debt ratio? Or my 100% on time payments on all cards and loans? I'm so upset about it and I have no idea what to do because there's no way my score will go up that many points anytime soon just making my payments as usual. They are scammers. They are probably mad that they didn't get to make the money from the high interest they would have charged me because I paid my whole balance off within that 6 month promotional period. Any suggestions or if anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear from you. Thank you! Not sure if I can leave this but I'll try. Email- [email protected]

I used the 0% interest promotional offer for the $1,500 deductible that I needed for my BA. And used the 14% interest for 24 months to pay the rest. I wanted to pay off the $1,500 In like 3 months that was the plan. But unfortunately they bundled both and have me a fixed interest rate because they assumed that I wanted to pay 7k in 7 years hence they get their interest. I suggest get 0% interest for one year instead of what I did. Pay it off fast! Or else you will be stuck!

If you have good credit and pay your bills each month this is the way to go. Don't bother if you are not conscientious and cannot pay more than the minimum each month. The way I do it that ends up being the best deal is to take the total due and divide it by the number of months left to pay on the promotional balance, usually 12 to 18 months. I never pay interest and get the benefit of credit.

I would have given this horrible lying cheating company less than 1 star if I could. I made my payments on time each month (actually early each month) because I did NOT pay it on their due date (early as previously stated) I was charged a late fee. They took my money every month and charged a late fee stating I did not make any payment. Avoid this company like the plague. This company is worse than paycheck advance companies. I don't understand how companies like this can continually rip people off and sleep at night!

I will never get another card from them. I am currently trying to pay off my card and need a letter stating that the arrangement has been completed. They have continuously disconnected the call and will not help me at all. I am just shocked at the level of ridiculous customer service. I will be writing a letter to corporate but honestly if they employ so many people that don't care they probably won't either. Just don't get the card.

They have a bad system for verifying their own customers. The process has difficulty verifying their own customers. I felt they were rude and didn't want to help me. I still do not have access to my own account and had to unenroll from paperless to regular mail so that I can stay up to date with my account. I no longer wish to be a customer after many years. Be aware that this process include taking a 30 second video of yourself. This can be embarrassing for some people who don't feel comfortable with their methods.

I make numerous payments a month to pay off "promotional periods" quicker, however care credit allocates your payments where they see fit, causing you to believe promotional periods are paid off – when they aren't, and they they charge you outrageous on interest. I ended up paying close to $500 in interest that I shouldn't have since I paid off my promotional periods, but care credit allotted my money elsewhere. Company sucks, customer service is even worse.

You will literally be paying on this card for 12 years if you follow the steps they prompt you to do. Your balance will increase monthly instead of decrease && when you call to try to fix matters they'll only make them worse && say "I'm sorry. It's policy. Wish there was more I could do."

You can pay your bill on time for years but they run your credit every month to see your score. If they do not like it they will close your account (regardless of you're payment history with them and your score consistently increasing) and as soon as you pay your balance down to $0, they add "remarks" to your credit and close your account without any prior notice. This will drop your score substantially and the representatives will simply tell you to wait for a letter in the mail. Do not use this company. They will damage you in the long run.

It's disheartening to hear that during this pandemic "CARE" Credit it not offering relief to it's customers. Yes they offered to defer a payment to "help" me out but since my promotional purchase expires next month if I do not pay in full I will incur all of the interest charges. Please explain how deferring my payment will help me? Deferring my payment will help THEM as it will cost me way more in the long run. Ridiculous.

This card closed my account without my knowledge and based it on fraudulent activity on my credit report that I have not done. I would not recommend this card because they don't care if you pay on time and can close at any time. Now I have no card for the dentist after covid is over and my transunion report was cleared but it doesn't matter they already closed it and said I have to reapply. Don't get this card they don't care and will close it anyway even in a pandemic. I called to ask them to do a credit bureaus check to see if they can reopen as my credit does not have the false negative marks. They said no this is why I hate credit it's not even based of something I did wrong and I'm still penalized by carecredit

Care Credit is absolutely awful. They robbed me of so much money for the last 6 months. I knew what I was dealing with when they started harassing me for payments only after a month of getting dental surgery. I would call and complain, but from reading these reviews, I can see there's no use. I just paid them off in full, and I'm still waiting for them to find some kind of way to rob me some more. Care Credit is absolutely awful!
