Caravan Beads

So impressed with the great service – helping me with repairs of broken jewelry as well as updating some earrings more to my liking. Whisked me in- helped me with everything – super inexpensive – some repairs are even free – Wow – I had to write a review!

My two friends and I decided to make bracelets for the nurses in the Radiology department at Mercy Hospital (an unbelievably wonderful group of women), so we set up camp at Caravan Beads today and as usual we had a delightful experience. The women of Caravan Beads are lovely: they are warm, patient and very skillful. We were like enthusiastic kids in a candy shop, there were beads here, there and everywhere; but Joan from Caravan patiently helped us finish up our bracelets and figure out what we had used. She was amazing as usual. I really love this place…

I am so impressed by and thankful for Caravan Beads and the lovely people that work there. I walk in with a beloved yet unwearable piece of jewelry and walk out with a resurrected piece of art. Gather all ye single earrings and degraded necklaces. They'll get a second life at the hands of the artists here!

This bead store was one of the reasons I traveled to Portland ME in the first place. I don't remember details 100%, but this bead store is huge and had a pretty gigantic selection of loose beads when I was there.

The wall of strands of beads wasn't anything to laugh at either, and I remember a good number of wooden beads as well as a fairly good amount of trade beads. The rest were glass and gemstone if I remember correctly.

When I was browsing through the store, it took at least an hour because there was just so many czech singles to look through. I don't remember much about their seed bead selection but I'm positive they had some because I do have some tubes with their label on them.

Their tool selection seemed also to be pretty fair and they also had a pretty large variety of threads to choose from as well.

It was fairly busy when I went so I can only say that the staff were attentive and friendly from a third hand perspective.

Prices seemed fair when I was there, and given the chance I'd definitely go back and will plan to do so if I get lucky enough to end up in that part of Maine again.
