Buyback Boss

They quoted $100 for my Verizon Samsung 8+, upon receipt claimed my phone was damaged offered me $20, when I requested my phone be returned they sent me a much worse condition Samsung 8+ that was a T Mobile phone, clearly not my Verizon phone. I felt the whole interaction was sketchy and definitely not worth the hassle.

My used iPhone 8 was quoted at $110, as it met all the requirements of no cracks, working microphone, no cosmetic damage or ghost images. It met the minimum battery health requirement of 80% as it was at 82%. However, when my device finally arrived at the destination in Arizona, which is a ways from me, I got an email saying "what we received is a bit different than what was originally quoted." "The battery health is lower than 80% and/or indicates it needs servicing". This was a shock to me because my battery health was definitely at 82% and had been for a while. I emailed the representative about it (who was polite enough) and they said "We do go based off of the phones battery health life but if it says "Service" like it does, we mark that as a poor battery even if the health is above an 80% because the battery will need to be replaced at some point in the near future." I definitely didn't see any indication on my phone that the battery needed service before I sent it out. There's no mention of any such stipulation during the quote process, and if there is then it's in really fine print. Now that they've got the phone, I don't want to go through the trouble and the wait to have it shipped back. Obviously not happy. I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time *all* of the requirements the phone needed to meet for the quote that was given before I shipped it out.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Unethical, unprofessional, crooks. I have tried doing business several times with this company in the past and they are the biggest con artist/ripoffs on the face of the planet. Do yourselves a favor and before doing business with them or mailing our device consider facebook marketplace, the eco atm at any local shopping mall, or even trading it into the retailer you are getting your new phone from. I have sent them several devices in the past including two recently. All of my devices are always in pristine condition the only problem is they state they will "price match" and I try to price match them with declutter and they always find something "wrong" (this time they stated my device wouldn't turn on) yeah okay good thing I took a picture of it on while I wrapped it up and took a picture of the serial number before I sent it . Then they try to tell me my devices are broken and devalue them to near broken condition and try to pay me close to nothing $50. Then they try too bait and switch I'm sure they are going to send me back a device I didn't originally send them, or swap out the internals like logic board or send me back a bricked device. Extremely suspect, the car salesman of iPhone resellers. This company is a joke. They do not answer their phones, their email is just some face they hide behind. Regardless of what resolution you try to offer this review isn't coming down. I also will never send you another device or recommenced you again. You have lost a customer permently and hopefully many more future ones once they read this review.

I have never sold my used phone when buying a new phone before. I thought it would be a hassle. Was I ever wrong!! Was skeptical at first and searched through many others before choosing Buyback Boss. They did a price match from an offer provided that I received from a competitor. Very easy process! The CEO even emailed me due to this going on during the holidays to inform processing would be delayed to allow time for employees to spend with their families. I received my check soon after.
