Overall the school is okay, i think its need to be more structured, and organized. For example, when calling the school , sometimes i am unable to reach anyone, and have left several messages without any response!
An example, recently, there were some students that were out sick, around the same time. Parents should be notified of this manner. My child was also sick due to the virus that was going around. School and classroom should be sanitized/bleach to prevent spreading of germs/viruses.

Brooklyn Dreams is a great school in many areas. We have staff that really cares for the students. We have an administration that works as hard as the teachers and that share the love towards the students. Rigorous curriculum for rigorous and differentiation instruction.

5 years ago I enrolled my kids in Brooklyn dreams charter school.
My wife and I thought it will become a great place for our 3 kids.
At the beginning it was, but as time passes and the drastic changes that happened from the many principals and good teachers that left, NHA is nothing but a business we gathered. Theses students are nothing but a pot of gold. Sadly

The communication from the school has been so bad that I don't bother to even call there anymore, no one hardly answer the phone much less return your calls or email in a timely manner. I have been a foundation parent and to say I am disappointed is to put it mildly. You can never get any information from anyone and trust me it is not for lack of trying.
All you get are empty promises and nothing happens, this is December and you would think they would be generating support for the first official senior class graduating, you got nothing.
The Administrators don't seem to care about how parents feel or value their input or opinion. I am so done with this school……

Brooklyn Dreams Charter School challenges my kindergarten child in a very positive way. He comes home excited about the new things he has learned and has even taught me a thing or two. I believe the way they use fun and songs in some areas really brighten his spark to want to learn. My child comes home and teaches me Mandarin. I haven't felt more comfortable about my choice of schooling for my child since I applied.

Staff is VERY rude to students & parents alike. Communication is vitually non-existent on every level and generally occurs AFTER an event has occurred. Priorities should be on STUDENTS, their Education & a steady stream of Information & Updates to parents , none of which is happening. We were hopeful that a "new" administrative staff & principal would greatly improve the standards of BDCS, the only "improvement" seen is the addition of more un-trained ,un-professional and inexperienced staff (as evident in teacher turn-over rate, bearing in mind this is only Dec.). Parents such as myself who have been here at BDCS SINCE DAY 1 are still WAITING for the school we were promised, since my daughter has been here for 6 years, been through 3, Principals 5-6 Deans, and literally 100's
of teachers we are not hopeful at all that this can be fixed A) before the Charter expires or B) she graduates. I sincerely wish this was not the case however, future results are based on relevant past experiences…so in other words, the writhing is on the wall, Unless there is a Drastic Change in the very near
future BDCS has failed their mission, the State Charter and more importantly Our Scholars.

Well where can I start, the principal is extremely RUDE. Took away the differentiated programs in the school all students are now grouped together and quite frankly I don't think my "scholar" is learning anything this school year. VERY disappointed at the lack of concerns for students and their overall well being. So much to say but remember children should be children and not treated as a number and a business transaction.

BDCS is a very good school with caring teachers. But it can even better with more emphasis on extra curricula activities and an expanded library. New principal seems motivated.
