Brokemycell

I sent my phone (actually, my boss's phone – even worse!) to brokemycell.com back in April. It's now almost July, and not only do I not have the phone, but their phone has been disconnected, and they haven't replied to my 10+ email messages. I'm appalled at the level of service, or rather the lack of, that I've received with this company, and will make it my mission to warn other unsuspecting consumers about how awful these guys are. It's reprehensible.

I tried, I really did to give them every benefit of the doubt, countless deadlines and extensions before resorting to posting bad reviews everywhere and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's office. Even now, I would be satisfied if I either received my damaged equipment back with a refund OR the repaired units as promised.

Sigh! The Details:
I researched firms to repair a 1 week old Samsung Galaxy S4 that had been dropped on the curb. I read reviews and at that time the rating of this company was pretty good. I contacted them and got a quote as well as a quote for replacing the battery in an iPhone3. We were advised delivery of repaired phones would be 5 鈥?6 days after receipt of the damaged phones and payment. Payment was made on August 20, 2013. Shipment of the phone was made on August 20, 2013 and received by them on August 22, 2013 (per signature)
It is now 12 weeks after the transaction and we have not been given any status update even after repeated phone calls and email requests. I got exactly 2 emails in that time. One was to ask for the order number and tracking numbers which I provided that same day. And one that said they were checking on the status. That was about 6 weeks ago. Emails go unanswered as do voicemails. We lost $330, a Samsung Galaxy S4 requiring digitizer and LCD screen replacement and an iPhone3 needing a new battery.

I don't understand how some people can have such a good experience and almost half end up with this situation. Very discouraging.

They did a wonderful job of replacing the shattered screen on my Note 2. The only thing I would suggest is to extend the turnaround expectation. I would say 7-10 business days. If you send it back sooner you will wow the customer.

They said they had to fix my phone twice but in the end it came back fixed and working perfectly. They said it would take 4-5 business days but it actually took 16 business days (Oct 30 – Nov 21). The hardest part was that there was virtually no communication. I sent numerous messages, emails, and phone calls but only got one short generic response the whole time. In they end they got the job done though so I have to give them credit for living up to their word in that way.

I lowered my review to 2 stars because after a couple of days dust started to get under the glass. After a few weeks there is a fair amount of dust accumulated and it seems that it will just get worse and worse.

So I ask them fix it since they gaurenteed their job.
After alomost one momth they send me prepaid label to send phone back to them.
They promised fix it and send it right away.
After that I have no way to contact them.
It's been two month since this.
If any one know that how can I get help to get my phone back.

Sent my phone in 3 weeks ago today, emailed 5 times, called about 15 or so (and counting)…

I would try to call this company if you don't believe the negative posts… you will quickly learn they do not reply or answer the phone.

This is an obvious scam, filing a complaint with Attorney General and making a trip to their office (when I find it)

Save yourself the grief, go someplace else or at least try to contact these guys and see for yourself. The other positive posts are clearly fakes given the level of detail.

I see a lot of negative reviews here so I want to share my experience to help support these guys.
They are one of the top companies in this space, so I am sure they turn around a lot of volume every month. People who write reviews tend to be the ones that have bad experiences; I am sure they do a great job 99% of the time.
I dropped my iPhone 5 and cracked the screen about a month ago. I researched online and locally, and decided to go with Brokemycell because they seemed like they are very experienced and also are very reasonably priced. I had my phone back within two weeks, and it looks great.
Overall I am happy with their service and the quality of work and would recommend them to a friend.

It has been 2 months since I sent them my phones. This company does not answer their phone and has either very limited or NO communication. They have scammed me out of my phone. Do not send your phone to this company. Read all the other one star comments.

I initially thought that Brokemycell would be an excellent fit for what I needed. My screen had broken on my Note 2 while traveling cross country. I could have used insurance to fix the phone for slightly more than the cost of Brokemycell, but I preferred to keep my phone as it was rooted and had a custom ROM etc. Besides, who wants a refurb? So anyway, I sent my phone off to Brokemycell and that was that. Weeks later I hadn't even received confirmation that they received my phone. After sending a few emails I finally received a reply about a week after my initial message (3 weeks after sending my phone). I was told that there was a delay in obtaining the needed parts for the repair. All in all it took just over a month to receive my phone. Here is where the fun begins…

My phone was returned to me with a massive air bubble in the middle of the screen. In addition to that you can see that the screen was not set properly as you can see the LED lights bleeding out from the corners of the phone. Also, there are small bits of dust and cardboard stuck under the screen. My camera (front facing) is covered in dust stuck under the glass.

After horrible communication and doing a piss poor repair job they expected me to return my phone to them to solve what they admitted was their sloppy work. Here is an excerpt from an email: "This is an air pocket that got in from the extreme heat. We should have kept it in the shop an additional day to cure the adhesive." …Should have kept it in the shop for an additional day….thanks for that.

After offering to contact a local shop where I live after I refused to return my phone to them (Sorry I can't just give my phone up for another month or however long you take to fix your mistake) they dropped off the face of the earth and I've never heard from them again.

Do yourself a favor and find a local shop. You may pay more, but you will have reliable and accountable service. Brokemycell screens their reviews, so that is why you find only positive reviews on their site. I tried to post about my experience and it was not posted.

I have dropped my iPhone 5 many times since I first bought it. I used to have a screen protector both front and back along with a protective case, but eventually I took off my screen protectors as they kept peeling off over time. I even decided to trade in my nice hard shell phone case for a pretty fancy and thin type of case. My iPhone had fallen down a flight of stairs, down from my computer desk at home, and even thrown several times by my two year old daughter, but never actually broke. I considered myself very lucky. Sure my iPhone 5 had a few minor cuffs and scratches on the screen, but that was much better than having a broken phone screen or broken phone for that matter.

Then one day I left my phone on the kitchen counter as I sat my two year old down next to it and made her breakfast. That was a terrible idea considering she thought it would be funny to throw my phone across the room where it hit the floor at a bad angle and shattered my iPhone screen completely from the camera down.

I was so upset and could not believe that after all those incidents this is how my iPhone was injured.

I went straight to the Internet that day to purchase a replacement phone and realized that it was too expensive! Then I searched eBay and Amazon for a replacement screen and that was expensive as well. Plus, putting the screen together on my own would be a risk I did not want to take. After some more research, I came across BrokeMyCell.com and I was glad I did.

Their easy to use website, affordable prices, and great & reliable service allowed me to get my iPhone fixed without any hassle.

The repair procedure was simple, I just purchased the service from their website, and entered in my address and phone number. I was contacted back within an hour with instructions on how to ship my iPhone 5. I waited a few business days and then I received both an e-mail and call about how my repair had been a success and three days after that my iPhone 5 was back in my hands good as new! My cuffs and scratches were no longer there and my screen was perfectly replaced. It was as if Apple had sent me a replacement and it was half the cost!

I was very pleased with their service and if a mishap such as this ever happens with any of my devices again, Broke My Cell is where I鈥檓 going to go. I learned my lesson, keep those big protective cases on your phone at all times and use screen protectors!

If i could do negative stars i would! I sent my phone in May 20. It's August 1 today. I have not received it back. Who knows if I ever will. Do not make the same mistake as me to send in your phone just to save a couple bucks. Take it in to a store where you actually know where it is!!!!!

I mailed my Samsung Galaxy S3 2 weeks ago and confirmed shipment 2 days later…to date, I have not received any response from brokemycell after numerous emails and voicemails. I paid $130 to replace the slightly cracked screen. Repair was quaranteed within 2-3 business days. Basically, I paid them $130 to take my phone!!! Please do not waste your money. I'm only advising others of what happened to me so they won't fall victim as well…I suggest using a local company after this experience. BEWARE!!! Update: companys name is The Cell Shop, owners name is Caesar 209-339-8188…they answer this number! They fixed my phone and mailed it the same day I contacted them at this phone number. I truly feel the phone would've been lost forever had I not tracked them down! Phone was repaired/fingerprints under the glass/but I did get it back! I would definitely spend more and use a local company the next time…avoid these guys!!!!!

Many places seem to have a hard time repairing and fixing Samsung Galaxies and at a reasonable price. I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 and I spent a long time trying to find a place that would fix my cracked screen and without breaking the bank. My screen was cracked so bad, I couldn't see anything on the phone. I checked out brokemycell.com and they only charge $99 to do the repair. I'm in NYC and all I did was input my contact info and check out, sent in my phone and had my phone back in 3 days!!! My phone looks brand new! Thanks guys! I would highly recommend brokemycell.com.

My phone was received by them July 2 according to my tracking receipt and yet on their webpage my account still says "awaiting fulfillment." There is no way to talk to anyone live when you call it automatically goes to voice mail. I have left several messages as well as emailed over the last 2 weeks and have heard no response back and yet on their website it says they strive to return phone calls and emails THE SAME DAY. This statement, along with the statement that they fix phones in 4-5 days is also FALSE. It's looking like I will need to contact the Better Business Bureau in order to get my phone back.

they've had my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 since 6/24; it is now 7/10. they have not replied to any of my phone calls or emails sent via their website. STAY AWAY. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. They do not deserve your trust and they do not deserve your business.

I paid this outfit and sent them my Note 2 in mid June. Now its July 9 and I don't have my phone. They advertise 4-5 days to repair. It wouldn't be so bad except they're ignoring my email messages and they don't answer their calls. At this point I doubt I'll ever see my phone again. Terrible. /RichardH

Your phone continues to give us a glitch on the LCD. I will have our owner call you this afternoon. We are doing our best. Our tech is recommending that we replace the entire motherboard. Which we believe has more damaged sensors and chips.

鈥?RETURN MY PHONE
16th Apr 2013 @ 11:50 AM
You Said:
You cannot call me, as I do not have a phone. The phone you have is my only phone. I do not have a loaner. I have not had access to a phone since I sent this one to you. I was not consulted about the mother board when you discovered the problem and now I fear that if it was saudered, without my consent that Samsung will not allow me to send it back to them for repair. I do not authorize you to make any repair to the mother board. If the phone will not work without a new motherboard than I would not require the new lcd digitizer and glass repair.

Had I been notified of this additional problem when you encountered it I would have told you not to proceed as I have no intention of spending $500 to fix a $600 phone. Please remove any parts that belong to you and return my phone. I do not feel comfortable proceeding with your company on this repair. Send the phone back today.

鈥?RE: RETURN MY PHONE

Ms. Arteaga,
We were not going to charge you for any additional labor. The solder is a simple process to reinforce the damaged/bent parts.

I do apologize once again for the delay. But we will be able to fix your phone. However if you wish we will send you the phone back along with a full refund today. Please let me know.

If you would like us to complete the repair I will in addition to the extra labor and parts offer you a partial refund for the delay and inconvenience. We are trying our best to fix your phone and putting our resources and expenses into it. All we ask is more patience if at all possible. I do understand your frustration but your repair was not a turn key fix.

I am not certain how many more times I can ask for the phone to be sent back before I will be forced to reach out to the New Jersey better business bureau or AG's office to file a formal complaint. You waited until my bank contacted you on 5/20/13 to refund the amount paid, even though you had already committed to do so on 5/7/13. Return my phone today. I expect it put in the mall with the post marked date 4/15/13. This is not unreasonable as I sent it to you on 4/2/13 and you have provided not status update or feedback. Return my phone and issue a refund minus the cost of your shipping. If you do not respond to this or do not issue the refund I will contact my credit card company to report the charge as fraud.

Ms. Arteaga,
My name is Kemal I am the owner and I would like to apologize for the delay and poor communication. Your phone presented us with a unique challenge and was given special attention but I wish our team had kept you up to date.

We are a growing start-up and we will make improvements to prevent this from happening again in the future.

I appreciate your business and thank you for your patience. You phone will be shipped out this afternoon.

Ms. Arteaga,
Your phone continues to give us a glitch on the LCD. I will have our owner call you this afternoon. We are doing our best. Our tech is recommending that we replace the entire motherboard. Which we believe has more damaged sensors and chips.

RETURN MY PHONE

Ms. Arteaga,
We were not going to charge you for any additional labor.

I went and bought a loaner last night. I appreciate the update. Keep the phone, fix it if possible.
If you cannot fix it keep your parts, return the phone and issue a refund.
If it returns unfixed I would expect a refund.

I expect that my phone will be mailed today as I requested as I have given you 15 business days to complete the repair and limited time is not a factor in the repair not being completed. Send back the phone, today 4/25/13. If it is not repaired remove any of your parts and issue a refund.

We are still waiting for a specific part to be delivered from Samsung. We have been waiting for it all week as well…

I will be happy to ship the phone back to you and issue you a refund. If you could wait an additional week I promise we will have it fixed at no additional charge. Like I said you phone has more than just a broken LCD…

I did not receive my phone when I asked for it on 4/25. I did not authorize you to keep it and yet I have still not received the phone or any tracking information for it.

It has been a over a week, I have also obviously not received a fixed phone as you said I would if I had authorized you to keep it.

I have to handle this with my credit card company as it is now apparent that I am dealing with a fraudulent company.

I received your voice mail and have read the above message. I understand the horror story you referred to as I have not received the refund you mention above and have spent an additional $200 to buy another phone since your company has been in possession of mine for 28 business days. I do not enjoy spending my free time talking to credit card companies or worrying about the loss of a $600 phone and the $238 I spent to repair that phone as I am sure you do not enjoy continuing to receive these messages from me. So this contact is only to re confirm that I have not received my phone, a refund, or a report of progress on said phone.
Thanks

That was 33 business days ago and I have not received my phone or a refund. In addition to the refund I will receive through my credit card company you need to return my phone to me.

Your phone has been a problem and we have been trying. Our tech has done a poor job communicating the issue and for this I do apologize. We will ship your phone back to you in the condition which we received it. If we are able to repair it by the end of the day we will send it back fixed without charging you. Please understand that this was not a routine fix.

I received an email that my phone had been shipped with a tracking number but when I use that number to try to track the shipment the status is "Electronic Shipping Info Received" there is no location information. Does this mean the tracking label has been printed out but the phone has not yet actually been shipped? Please ship the phone back. I sincerely do not want to have to use the authorities in your state to get you to send back the phone as you already stated you would and are ethically required to.

-This has been copied and pasted from the company's website so I apologize for the funky formatting. I received the phone on 6/3/13 in the same condition I sent it to them.

UPDATE* 6/28/13 the company had my bank re-charge me as I had "received" my phone. I now have the pleasure of either being charged for a service they did not provide or fighting with my bank about the charge. I will be fighting with my bank and warn others as this is the first dispute to a charge I have had to make in the 11 years I have been a card holder. others learn about this website.

I paid for the repair of a galaxy s4 screen and then read some of the reviews on this site. I was concerned by a few of the negative reviews and emailed the company to request a refund as I told them I was concerned by the negative reviews. They promptly refunded my money. In my dealings, this company was 100% fair, responsive, and reputable.
