Everything was fine, except the unclear state of the documents which leads to a longer period of financial.

Fair conditions but probably the worst service..availability to customers for clarification, telefone banking waiting min 1hr.. if call is disconnected, start fresh, even online banking i don't see its user friendly.. currently my record i spent nearly in 5 calls average ca. 50min waiting each.. just able to connect once…

i just came from one month to germany, its normal that in the beginning you get 6 months visa and then you can apply for residance permit, For ING if you do not have an unlimited residance permit, you are not welcome. very bad. at least mention it clearly in your website before i lose my time and give my personal information to you. very bad

I tried opening an account with them, their attitude towards new clients is incredibly bad. Sarcastic answers to information other employees from them provided, not answering e-mails, waiting 40 minutes in the queue to get to talk to a tired employee who when I asked about the duration of the process (because I need an IBAN for a new job) answered: "maybe you should look for another bank then".

Absolutely worst customer service.
Every time I called customer service, I got different information. I tried to do the basic thing of opening an account. Apparently impossible. Lost mail, forgetting to send me the certification paper, not answering e-mails etc.

ING is a good bank in Germany. It's a mix between a traditional bank and a challenger bank; they offer two debit cards: the girocard and the visa debit. If you don't mind doing everything online, then it's superb.
ING is an international bank so it's baffling that they don't offer banking services in English or even live chat options. You can't communicate with them on the phone without your telephone banking pin — you need to request it and it takes a few days to arrive by post which is crazy, especially when you're abroad. My card stopped working when I wasn't in Germany and I couldn't even get in touch with my own bank. Luckily I had another card with me.
There are most definitely some areas for improvement: real-time transfers (Echtzeit鈥撁渂erweisungen) and sending SEPA payments in another currency (only sending in euro with no currency conversion guarantee is difficult when sending to a non-euro SEPA country).
It would be great too if they would make the card design and app design better — they're both so bland and there are many tools/features missing (like being able to freeze your debit card or analyse your spending on the mobile app). They also don't offer credit cards (not Visa debit cards) where you pay after receiving a credit card statement nor any 'perks' with your bank account.
If you're looking for a solid, decent, no-frills bank, then choose ING. But if you need support abroad, make sure you have your banking pin with you…

Worst customer service ever. I called them for help. The customer service personnel refuse to help me and tell me 鈥渋f you don鈥檛 speak German then you shouldn鈥檛 open an account with us 鈥?in English. Totally insulting and racist attitude.

Best bank in Germany,
I had a lot of experience with many other german banks, but ING is really top one! No questions from bank no appointments, everything is doable via email, response times via email as much as I needed to contact them was up to 20hrs. Also online banking and mobile app experience Is totally top! So I would honestly recommend ING if you don鈥檛 have time to visit branches and want things to go smooth

It is impossible to get an account at ING, if you work in Germany but also have tax obligations in another European country, even if you have a permanent contract in one of the biggest German companies in a senior position. I could not make an ID verification with PostIdent in a timely manner due to border closure in relation to COVID-19 and therefore sent a new application, but it was rejected right away without providing any reason. Such a bad experience that I don鈥檛 want to put my own money at ING, nor to recommend to anyone.

Terrible customer service. Opening an account takes weeks even if you provide all information on day one, which no one informs you about in advance. The whole process is extremely inefficient and when you dare to ask for things to be sped up due to urgency, you get either ignored or turned down. After two weeks I decided to cancel the account opening and go to a different bank.

super incompetent customer service…I had an unauthorized withdrawal from my credit card so I reached out to my ING Germany's customer service. The agent told me that once the amount has been processed I can have it retransferred to my account. When I asked him if he is not going to block my card as scammers now have my data, he replied with "this is happening every day". -.-
1. this was not my question,
2. it does not mean that I have to accept it happening to me over and over again.
Only when I insisted on blocking my credit card and sending me a new one he agreed to do so.
I am also a customer of another bank with a so much higher customer service. ING Diba is definitely not worth keeping…I'll make sure to change my bank to a much more secure one and would recommend every of its customers to do so too if they care for their money!

1.The Credit service was first and excellent. I talked to a lady 馃懇鈥嶐煉?I made the Credit contract through telephone and within 24 hours the money 馃挵 was in my personal account! ING DIBA BANK 馃彟 is a bank you can rely on when you are in need of credit and that is a FACT! Its my second time getting credit assistance from this bank and I would recommend 馃憣 it to other people interested as long as you have the required information and papers they need. They have Low attractive interest rates keep that in mind!!
2.Best online banking services after Login. Simple and clear as long as you follow the instructions.
Thank you and stay safe #COVID19馃樂#

Worst experience. I moved in to Berlin with my family, working visa and working contract. Have PhD, have registered in apartment, but residence permit (blue card) will be ready only in ~ 6 months as Berlin immigration office is overloaded. So I applied to ING to open current account for my salary. Then I passed POSTIDENT verification (online video chat).
After couple of weeks I called them and asked what should be the next step, and they said they are not aware that I passed online verification (maybe it was lost somehow 🙂 ). I also explained that my residence permit will be ready in few months and I don't have any impact on this, but I have visa type D, registered in apartment and working contract. They asked to send the scans of Ameldung and visa. And then in few days after this they sent me email saying they rejected my application and can't open a current account.
Good luck everybody with this bank. I don't plan to come back to them once my residence permit is ready. Will better work with more adequate bank. For the meantime, opened account in another more friendly online bank.

The bank refused to open a current account for me without specifying the reasons. I asked for a clear reason and I didn't get a clear answer (as they mention in their reply : there is no single reason without actually telling why exactly ! ). Completely useless information.
I'm relocating from France (EU citizen) to Germany, I have an actual address in Germany and a permanent work contract.
Well I wanted to share this because it is frustrating not to know why.
I don't want to deal with a bank that treats potential clients this way and I will spread the word, you can count on me !

Was refused account application after Post-Ident verification, and after I had specifically called them, where the rep promised me that my account was being successfully processed and I should expect the cards and all documents within a few days – in other words, that my application had been successful. I even specifically asked her if there were any problems with my account application or if there was a possibility of problems coming up at this stage, which she reassured me was not the case and that my application would go through. The account rejection came after the agent had requested a copy of my Meldebest盲tigung, which I sent to their inbox. Less than 24 hours after I sent the Meldebest盲tigung, I received an email saying that they had declined to open my account. No reason was given beyond the generic canned response. After reading the reviews here and in other forums I think it is because of my non-EU passport. I am a Bluecard employee with a correlating salary, working in a MINT profession – if they don't want my business then that's their loss. Opened account with another bank within minutes.
Dealing with them has left a bad taste in my mouth as I find them to be dishonest and untrustworthy, with shady business practices. I feel lied to and cannot recommend them to anyone, and if this is the way they conduct their business they'll go bust very quickly, as all of their potential customers go to competitors.

Incredibly slow if you are coming from abroad and want to start an account. Will not be able to get my first salary paid due to the extreme delay in processing time. 7 weeks and counting.. Can only advice people to choose another bank and not make the mistake I obviously did. Customer service tells you "you can only wait". Thanks, great.
