Indiegogo

I am commenting about their support of a terrible product, Mizu towels. Mizu towels are terrible. Read the reviews on them by people who actually tried them instead of websites that are paid to review them.

Many people are saying that they unravel after the first wash. They are not very absorbent. And, they are made not from Japan but from China.

No backer protection. Chinese resellers who at the end of the campaign stops delivering and abandon the backers.

Indiegogo started well with crowd funding project (I did many contributions).. until scamers plagued it. Currently they claims that they don't have tools to normalize the situation.. and control or enforce projects to reply and become accountable. Well.. it's their website they make their rules and by not making those it means they are complicit. I'm really sad for indiegogo not evolving as I really enjoyed some crowdfund projects I participated but now I can't do it anymore.
I understand some projects have issues but another thing is not making updates regularly, faking a company/product, and get away with it.

Citrus shower head company through indiegogo.

I received the shower head I bought – way way after expected ship date. Great! Installed it with in 6 months of receipt. Been using it for about one year. Face plate busted out of it – the tabs that screw in all broke in the middle of a shower. They refuse to stand by the product and refuse to sell a replacement part. They want me to buy another whole shower head system. Don鈥檛 buy anything from this company. Cirrus shower head is of poor quality and service is substandard.

Indiegogo is a platform for scammers. I supported three campaigns and none of them failed to deliver?!? Customer support does not exist and they do not close fraudulent campaigns. Go for it if you want to kiss your money goodbye.

Horrible. Indiegogo does not help with anything. Fraud can happen and they say they are not responsible.

Scam company supporting scam businesses.
I purchased a Princube from The God Things in October 2019 to arrive at the end of November 2019. No product as of yet. Either company will provide a refund, THIS IS A SCAM. Do not support them.

2,697 complaints on this campaign.
Over USD$4,500,000 dollars raised.
INDIEGOGO have decided to hide behind their "locked" rules (COWARDS) even though people have not received promised goods since November 2019.
They have chosen money over service. And will remembered for ever for this.
DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECT: GLOBAL SCAM.
I am out of work, spent $380.00 and want my money back. I am out of funds and out of work for 10 weeks now and possibly another 10 weeks. I need to live and feed my family. This has to be a moral crime.

Ordered from them twice, never received my purchase. I understand that this is crowfunding, but I do expect a product that I ordered in 2015. Indiegogo is not helpful at all. Better to just pay the extra price for a product that is already in the market.
One of the purchases was a scooter from Eon Scooter. Biggest scam ever.

If you are checking Indiegogo here then you are already in better place than I was three years ago when I backed a product on indigogo without checking the reviews of the platform. I wish I had done due diligence and checked what people say about Indiegogo before "investing" $250 in a product called SpineGym. The company I backed is now selling that product at 鈧?50 yet nothing had ever been delivered to the backers. Indigogo enables dishonest people who get millions of dollars to get their business going without the need to deliver the product or return the money to original investors. Now that you checked this platform on the Trustpilot please think twice and make a well informed decision of whether to send your money to such place.

I've been using a regular non-electric toothbrush for my whole life so I thought why not try an electric toothbrush as my dentist also recommended me start using one. After using it for about a week I've definitely noticed a great improvement in my teeth.

Pros:
Whitens teeth
Great for gums
Gets in places you can't reach properly with a regular toothbrush
Battery life is AMAZING
Looks sleek & fancy
Cleans teeth well
Different settings to suit your needs

Worth it! It is available on Indiegogo now! https://bit.ly/2UiB6zb

Indiegogo doesn't care about the backers as soon as the've got paid. The have rules that the projects must fullfill, but even if they don't there are no consequences and the can post new projects again and again.
Shippment of "production ready" things get delayed by a year and still no updates about the state (except a excuse that an update will come "very soon)
Go to kickstarter => They actually do care.

What a total scam this company is. I got scammed out of a lot of money by a company through their website, and they refuse to take any responsibility in it although the scamming company did violate several of Indigogo's 'legal obligations' and falsified their address data (it seemed from Indigogo that this was an American company, when in fact it was Chinese).

For example: Indigogo states that the company should provide backers with regular updates (at leas once a month) and is not allowed to sell the product elsewhere before all backers have received their perks. However, it has been an average of about 3 months per message from the company in this case, often containing little to no useful information. Also, the product they were advertising through Indigogo is now widely available in several Asian countries, whilst most of the backers have received nothing. You could say this is a gross violation of rules and this company should not be allowed to take the backers money, but Indigogo does not give one s**t about this and just says that the dispute should be settled with the company itself (who of course does not reply).

Apparently all those supposed rules and regulations are there just to create a false sense of trust and not to actually protect backers on the platform, which means you have absolutely no guarantee that you aren't sending your money straight into some scammers pockets.

TLDR: do NOT back anything here! There are a lot of scammers on this platform and no regulations are in place whatsoever to counter this. Indigogo does not take responsibility if you lose your money, even if the company which took it grossly violates Indigogo's own so called 'legal obligations'. Thus, chances are that you are just financing a big scam and you have no way of knowing it.

I have backed 9 Indiegogo campaigns. 1 good, 3 ok, 3 poor and 2 complete failure.

Of these:
Mu travel plug – good.
Food guard – ok but in hindsight not that new.
Incharge second – ok.
Pamu poor (their product just isn't very good and is a very small tweak / white label of existing product),
Micro-Novelty just rubbish but not worth complaining about, Incharge one – fell apart quite soon after receipt,
EST Shovel sort of OK but not great.
Kharbon earbuds absolute catastrophe and I expect to lose my money.
Supercharger heading the same way.

In same period I have backed 6 Kickstarter campaigns. Four are great and two mediocre. Nothing rubbish and certainly nothing what I call deceitful / fraudulent.

No product, no refund and now indiegogo have been liquidated in the UK, after they in partnership with RCL/Retro Computers Ltd stole all the backers money, they cut and run, likely our money has been used to fund terrorism, why the police are not watching the directors of these companies, to prevent them funding terrorism, I'll never know, but the way that our money has disappeared leaves no other explanation. The money has to go somewhere, and if it's not able to be recovered, that's the only logical explanation, there seem to be many supposed companies all based in London all doing this.

I funded 4 campaigns so far, 1 from a company I know was received OK, 3 turned out to be scams.

Indiegogo provides no customer protection and actively promotes projects that without their "our team pick" endorsement I now see I would have known are scams!!

I have never had a more uncertain purchasing time in my life than this one with Indiegogo promoting fraud.

I'd like to see Indiegogo shut down.

It's an irresponsible service to the online community.

I have supported a few campaigns on IGG and basically all of them were delayed (which is to be expected with crowdfunding) but that IMHO is not something IGG can or even should control. Production en shipping is the responsibility of the campaign owners.
What IGG's responsibility is (again in IMHO) is keeping a close eye on the business dealings of the campaign owners. If backers are waiting for their pledge while the product is being sold on Amazon (f.e.), that is something IGG should do something about. I have reported a few situations to IGG. Nothing has been done. No feedback on what, if anything IGG will do.
I am done with this concept. I did get my products (cancelled one and one is delayed) but quality is poor, except for one item but that was produced by an established company. Overall a waste of time and money.
