We were fortunate to escape for a long weekend before the second lockdown and although COVID restrictions were still in place, we had a peaceful and relaxing time at Inadown farm holiday homes, in Newton Valence, not far from Alton, Hampshire. The buildings are chalet style and the view from the large french doors is a delightful courtyard, cleverly edged with trees, which gives light but seperates the livery stable which is adjacent to the cottages. There are happy little chickens rummaging through the shrubs but they are kept out of the holiday area by a picket fence. However, if the gate is left open they waste no time in taking advantage of fresh territory! The owner is keen to close the gate as they do make a little bit of a mess but they are lovely! The interior was very clean and airy and the catering facilities were excellent. There are some nice walks nearby and If you need to get away to the country, this is the place! Being a horse admirer I was disappointed not be able to connect with the stables area, partially due to the restrictions but it was obvious the management team wish to keep the two business ventures seperate. Only one criticism, our en-suite bathroom didn't have a toilet roll holder, so make sure you locate it beforehand!
