After going to H&R Block and due to their offer of a loan against my taxes up to $3,500 my loan was never accepted or processed after contacting customer service at least a dozen times I was hung up on put on hold for over an hour at least six times and I paid H&R Block $174 so I can get a loan the customer service is out of the Philippines call center and absolutely atrocious I would not recommend H&R Block to anyone

My husband went in to their office and had to school the tax prep girl on how to fill file it! She had no knowledge at all. Not to mention they were so extremely loud to wear he could barely hear her. And he actually booked a appt for me without my permission I I waited 45 minutes with a appt to be told it would be another 30 minutes before they could get to me
Why! Would I wait and fork out in over 300 in feses when my return is less than 100. Have u lost ur damn mind?

When I had any issues with H&R Block they just kept giving me different phone numbers to call except for I paid H&R Block to do my taxes not for me to do my own zero help from management

Over-obsessed with NPS scores by cultivating work-culture of cultivating "creative" tax returns by bending rules and bowing to clients. The so-called "tax consultants" are by large not qualified up to professional level and very often lacks integrity. They always try to bend rules as much as they can in order to please clients at the expense of adding illegitimate deductions.

I purchased peace of mind in 2018 and 2017 and when it comes to an assistance, other new clients were prioritized and helped. Mis filing document led me to loose $4K not happy.

This site doesn't allow to give 0 stars or else I would willingly want to stress on this matter. I found this winning award tax agent on the internet and contact them for an appointment. Everything went well and the accountant said she would send a list to follow up the same day. I waited for more than a week to email follow up with her (not my job to do so) but I heard no response, after that couple of days I contacted the office to catch up with what happened. The office said they would leave the message to her and I waited for another week, I made a second phone call again the same thing happened. And after the third time, the accountant responded with a to-do list. Well, as much as I hate spending another hour on another appointment with another tax agent, I decided to move on and never work with H&R Block again.

Looking g for copy of 2018 taxes, I was looking online & got copy, meanwhile my husband is at office requesting help. They gave copies but charged 20 bucks, never mentioned online was FREE. Screwsed one more time by hr. Never again!

These people are criminals! Not only do they overcharge they screw up your taxes so you end up owing the IRS!! BEWARE!! INCOMPETENT TAX PREPARERS!! Just remember that you are ultimately responsible for paying the IRS for their mistakes!!

I went to H&R Block to get information concerning solar panel installation in El Paso, TX. I was met by a very elderly woman by the name of Ramirez. She wasn't wearing a mask, refused to offer me seating and was clueless about the subject at hand. I had made it clear that I had no taxable income siting VA disability. Blank stare. Please retire Ms. Ramirez. Stay safe and stay home. This, unfortunately, was a big waste of time. H&R Block was a great resource in the past.

I have use H&R Block tax software for years. No problem. This year they suggested that I "efile" Ok so I did or so I thought. Went to the IRS web site to check on my return. No information? Tried to create an account. They wanted to know my expected return $. Not recognized. I'm not sure HR Block efiled my return. Try to get phone support. 45 minute hold time. In the future I will only file a paper return. I don't trust the internet.

HR BLOCK IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST **BEWARE** DO NOT USE THEM THEY WILL ONLY SCREW UP YOUR TAXES AND YOU WILL OWE THE GOVERNMENT. I HAVE USED THEM TWICE IN THE PAST 10 YEARS (THE OTHER TIMES I PAID AN ACTUAL ACCOUNTANT) AND BOTH TIMES I USED THEM I ENDED UP PAYING THE IRS THOUSANDS BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETENT TAX PROS AND THE OTHER WAS THIS YEAR, USED THE TAX SOFTWARE THINKING IT WAS SAFER AND MY TAXES WERE LESS COMPLICATED. THE SOFTWARE GLITCHES AND I GET A LETTER FROM MY STATE SAYING I OWE MONEY!!!!!!! I BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE TODAY AND I WAS MET BY A RIDICULOUS WOMAN WHO TELLS ME THAT APPOINTMENTS ARE A MYTH?!!?!?!? WTFREAK!!!!! (BTW I DIDNT REALLY MEAN WTFREAK, TRUSTPILOT MADE ME CHANGE, U CERTAINLY KNOW WHAT I TRIED TO SAY). I SHOW THE WOMAN THE DETAILS OF MY APPOINTMENT TEXTED TO ME BY THE OFFICE MANAGER AND I WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO TELL ME THAT HE WILL FIX THE ERROR FOR MORE MONEY. MORE MONEY?!?!?!? Absolutely they messed up my taxes I have to smile on my own and now nobody will refund my $414 they changed me I have been transferred to 5 different people and they tell me they are not in charge of refunds I would not recommend using this company or online tax pro I will never use this company again I will be going to small claims court to try and get my money back

I purchased the Premium Business Federal & State software. It kept asking me to manually change my column for my real estate taxes and mortgage interest and it had me getting a huge refund because of this error. No customer service to get me through this error. I ended up having my regular account do my taxes. "For fun" my accountant looked at the return and the input area that kept creating errors and would get the same wrong results. I want a refund for this software. UGH. BAD.

Horrible experience – no responses
The first pro we were assigned simply stopped answered our messages. Didn't complete anything.
After countless tries of getting in contact with support, I got a hold of someone who would assign a new pro.
I specifically told them to write us through the platform or email as I don't answer calls during the day.
Despite of this, one of two things happened:
1) They never assigned a new pro
2) They tried to call instead of emailing, so now we're back at square one.
Today, after spending 10 minutes online going through their horrible phone system it told me that they're so busy right now that there is no support.
Woooow.
HORRIBLE experience.

Worst company I could hire to help with my taxes. The "tax pro" didn't have any domain in what was doing and made the same mistakes repeated times. Now I'm trying to contact customer support by phone (the only way available) and I'm in line for more than 40 minutes and no one answers it – the estimate is another 40 minutes (was 16 previously).

Horrible experience . First year filing taxes myself & made that quite clear… I filed my taxes in February & paid $140 for them doing my taxes. Then had to pay a $39.99 fee when I left. I then waited until late March … made another appointment where they then told me that 鈥淚 made a mistake on my health insurance & that I must do an amended return.鈥?When TRULY all I had to do was send the IRS my health care information. They then had me pay for an amended return , another $39.99+ . It is now almost August & still have not received hardly any help from a single person in this whole entire company… multiple people have blown me off & been rude. I鈥檓 almost horrified at what鈥檚 going , I don鈥檛 know whether or not they鈥檙e scamming me or just don鈥檛 care to help. I鈥檓 disgusted with how this has turned out. Obviously it being during COVID-19 DOES NOT HELP… but the way I鈥檝e been spoken to & blown off & treated like it was an inconvenience after I鈥檝e paid. 0/10 , would not recommend ! Better off doing your taxes blindfolded , at a Keith Urban cover band concert , trippin off of ecstasy .

Terrible experience. Repeated attempts to call, no answer. Stopped by, no one there despite it being during open hours. Very rude on person. Their upfront pricing is a lie. I was told 343$ MAX. Upon pickup they told me 600$! While I was filing for 2 years I have NEVER paid that amount. The same lady who quoted me tried to act like she didn't recognize me and knew full well SHE was the one who quoted me. Took weeks for then to do and it was 4 basic w-2. Nothing more. They then proceeded to blame Corporate for 'closing too many stores and leaving a skeleton staff's, which okay, I get that. However, they were SO rude and dismissive. It was not corporates fault their employees weren't there during business hours. I said, it was a specific man's name next to the hours of 9-3 on the door. She went with me to look and the hours were listed as CLOSED! She said, yeah see, no one was here to work. I said, that is a new sheet. There absolutely was one with the employees name listed next to the hours. She then says, oh, yes well I just put that one up! Well maybe then! Second time she tried to make excuses and blame me. After she called me back because she forgot to give me a form. I sent my husband in as I was so frustrated. She proceeded to tell him they actually did us a favor as they didnt realize I owned a business and we would have been charged more!! I do not own a business. Continuing to try to salvage their terrible job. Do not visit h and r block. They tried to TRIPLE charge us. Taxing us to file our state taxes an astronomical amount. Charging to file if you get child tax credit. Needless to say, I did not file with them, I took my business elsewhere.

I choose to do the Free online return after spending $340 last year for a simple 1040 return. (FYI you are charged for the state return as disclosed up front) I didn't upgrade to Deluxe $49.99, I spent hours trying to talk/chat with someone. Finally got an automated Chat, It stated I can downgrade my return BUT, I would loose all of my information and have to go through the whole process again. I'm disgusted with Block, don't you get caught in this lie!

I got my taxes done yesterday at 600 west 139th street, ny, ny. I asked if I could drop them off and they said no. I understood because it was the last day, so it was my fault. What I didn鈥檛 understand was why the woman had no mask on. The sign on the door said you cannot enter without a mask, so the customers had on a mask. But when I came in and went to the back, the tax preparer was not wearing a mask and wanted me to sit right in front of her. I was horrified and dismayed. I told her no offense but I will sit six feet away. It was utterly ridiculous discussing my finances from that far away. I couldn鈥檛 believe it. There was not much air and they had a fan on, blowing God knows what across the room. At one point, she went to the printer and her coworker was there. The coworker was wearing a mask and gave her the look of death. So she said don鈥檛 look at me that way I鈥檓 staying far enough away from you. So clearly her coworkers had a problem with her not wearing a mask since they were all wearing masks and did not want her to come close. But in a small place like that if she is sick or ever gets sick, everyone or at least half of those people will get sick. If I get COVID-19 I know I got it from her because I haven鈥檛 been out of the house to go anywhere Like that since March. I can鈥檛 believe H&R Block runs their locations this way and doesn鈥檛 required employees to wear a mask. This is the type of place where they have to sit in front of you and talk to you for about 30 minutes or so. So imagine my horror when I saw that she didn鈥檛 have on a mask. Furthermore, when the operator made the appointment for me she should鈥檝e told me that H&R Block doesn鈥檛 require its employees to wear a mask and I would鈥檝e gone elsewhere. Instead, she made me an appointment for 4 PM for a place I鈥檝e never been to and had to drive to and after they made me wait for an hour, what was I supposed to do.

after using software to file taxes I had a question about return. Their system would not let me stay on hold yesterday and today I was on hold for 4 hours straight and never did talk with a representative. Their on hold music is very annoying.

I couldn't get into my normal HRblock lady for over two months so I decided to go to another branch. I was forced to wait in the lobby for over half an hour after my appointment time, as my appointment to be seen in person was being turned into a 'drop off' without my consent. After I got to her desk, she went back and forth from one lady to another and explained to me there were fees, additional charges, nit picky sums, a charge PER w-2 and so on amounting to almost $900. She then went back and forth between a manager and sat with a calculator whispering for 40 minutes about what she thought I could afford. She then told me she was too busy to do it then and would have to charge me an additional large sum of money to file for an extension!!??!?! I took my things and left and she followed me out to my car without a mask to try and threaten me with being audited. I've been a loyal HRblock person for years, but NEVER AGAIN.

I went to drop off my taxes and asked a question only to be given an answer from a lady with a bad attitude. She has very rude mannerism and to top it all off the manager said there was just a misunderstanding. If so why was there no apology. I will NEVER use H&R Block to process my taxes and I have been a loyal customer for about 15 years. Very rude and unprofessional service

RIDICULOUS. H&R Block has had my documents for weeks. After being shuffled from 1 advisor to the next, and delay after delay and time changes – that I was never informed about (I had to call in to find out the ever changing time of my appointment). Today is tax day, and again without telling me, my appointment has been moved to 6:15pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. I actually have a life and a job… How does this place stay in business? My advisor can not be reached by email, the message says she has been blocked from receiving emails?! You cannot stop in the office, due to covid, and they do not answer the phone in the local office. While I am typing this email, I have a call into customer service,,, waited over 20 minutes on hold, only to be disconnected…. called back, wait time is over 50 minutes. Again, they have had my documents for weeks. I am reporting them to the better business bureau.
