Excellent site

The concept is good, BUT BE WARNED they have a way to automatically charge you again for a re-subscription without your consent!
In June 2019, I paid EUR56.20 for a 3 month subscription.
At no point when I paid, was I notified that my card details were saved and the subscription will automatically be rolled over for another 3 months.
In Sep2019, they re-debited my card EUR57 for another 3 months!
I immediately asked them to refund my card, as I didn't request this and they came back saying, I need to check the terms and conditions.

I think their service is rubbish. The correct way, would have been to receive an email before the end of the 3months, asking if I would like to continue my subscription or not and giving me the choice.
How dare they just save my card details!

Now I have paid equivalent to 1 years subscription, for a pet sitting service I used only once and never again!

Facile de trouver un petsitter. Mais on part pour un abonnement de 3 mois. Dommage.

There is no customer service whatsoever. They accept anybody as a pet sitter. Mine just vanished 2 days before my trip. I was to attend a 70th birthday party abroad. Since you can have only one pet sitter at a time i have no plan B. The site sends alerts to pet sitters you already had rejected so you go round in circle. Plus it s pretty expensive. AVOID

What a great idea and what a lovely website. I was immediately attracted(, or should I say sucked in). Fees however are intransparent (and high), and I can't believe how any company still thinks it is OK to automatically renew annual subscriptions without the written demand or at least accept of the client!!!
Of course when I complained, they referred to some obscure phrase in the 'conditions generale' . So legally Holidog is right. But I think ethically you are way beyond wrong.

Potential clients: read the small print…….

This service worked very well and helped me to fine a pet sitter of a very high quality. I highly recommend Holidog France.

Having spent 8 nights a dog owners house I have yet to receive payment. The dogs were lovely but the owners have let me down. I am waiting to see what happens before taking further action. Owed 拢108.

I moved to France from the US in August 2016 with my dog, Murphy. In the US, I had a lot of help because I travel a lot – friends, a dog walker, and several "doggie day care" places nearby. I was nervous coming to France if we could find the same support here. Holidog was an absolute life saver! I work regularly with two amazing gardechiens, and Holidog makes the reservation and review process VERY easy. Highly recommend

I had a very good experience with the petsiter I booked but I found the charging fees of Holidog website very confusing. I can't find a clear number of how much the website will charge you once you book a petsiter. While I was booking a petsiter I could only see the fee of the petsiter, but never the fee for using Holidog website. Only the subscription price are available but they were very low compared to what I was charged (around 10 time less).

I was happy with the petsitter but not at all with the Holidog service !

I subscribed only for 3 months, but when that period passed I was automatically re-incribed for another 3 months without my approval !
I complained and asked for reimbursement right away, but still did not receive any reply after three wekks!

holidog.fr is very helpful to find a petsitter. The search is free of Charge.
A little bit confusing are the costs. But this might be related to my bad French….

A multitude of little bugs were identified while using the site. I had to contact them three separate times for 3 different problems. While they were quick to respond and the necessary improvements made within one day, it was a bit frustrating to stop my search until the mistake was corrected. It took me about three days to complete the search and reservation process. What is good about Holidog is that they have a large number of petsitters with updated profiles so you don't waste time contacting someone and then finding out they are no longer active.

It should not be this expensive to bring together 2 people for pet-sitting.

I recommend using Holidog – the service is very good and much better value for money than other services I have used in Paris. The petsitter I hired really looked after my cat very well.
