Holidog

I am afraid even 1 star is too much – I COMPELTELY ECHO everything that others have said about this organisation – the website is awful to use, so many links, tabs, buttons don't wor, lead to error pages…despite coming back over a period of a few days.

It advertises services that arn't actually available…leads you down a path to nowhere and then you can't easily find your way back to something that made sense…and charging you either 拢57 or 拢100 along the way.

It's sad really as no idea how this company is going to survive when there are so many flaws. The UK represenative tried to be helpful but her hands were clearly tied with DREAFUL poilicies/proceedures on complaints/cusomter service…

I very rarely lead negative reviews as don't like to bad mouth companies that might have just been having a bad day – but this whole experience was very unpleasant from start to finish….I can't recommend enough how signing up to this company is NOT WORTHWHILE. 🙁

AVOID AT ALL COST… the sitter lost my dog 6 hours into a 5 night booking. They were told and told she is to anxious to go out and I would rather her and my other dog stay in… yet they took her out 6 hours of having her, she would not even go near the chap at this point anyway, I told them I only take her on enclosed area walks that are quiet yet she slipped her harness and was missing in vast open/rural areas of Sea Mills Bristol with so many busy roads and river bends. She was found after 3 days cut to bits and traumatised, I'm very lucky to get her back but she's now reverted back to her pre rescued ways ie chewing walls and super clingy. Holidog blamed me on sending a dog not good on a lead to the sitter, they did not want to refund my booking fee and offered a fiver e voucher off my next booking as compensation even though I've lost out on 拢400 in total on my break away and replacing her things. They also have no way of cancelling the fee you pay to get the sitters details in the first place and I'm told will take the 拢59 every 3 months on a rolling basis. I am going to take legal action if this is not resolved. DO NOT USE THEM. You may never see your pet again.

These people will only provide you with a list of people and by signing up you sign up to an automatic payment of 拢57 every three month! I couldn鈥檛 see where to cancel this so I changed my card details on the page but the money continued to withdraw every three month. I鈥檓 now over 1year in and struggling to get the last three month credited which they have agree鈥檇 to do. What a waste of money!!!
I don鈥檛 know how these people sleep at night.

DO NOT USE. THESE PEOPLE ARE FRAUDSTERS!!!
My wife was looking for a doggy sitter and came across Holidog. The website forces you to provide bank details in order to browse their site. We ended up never using their services and a year later we have been charged 拢144. Their website provides no means to cancel and no means to contact them so we have been forced to contact our bank and notify them of fraud.

My wife was subscribed to holidog in may 2019 we got a dog sitter and she told us to cancel the subscription and be careful so we did and in may 2020 this company had setup my subscription without informing us and have taken 拢144 on my wife's credit card, she went to their websites she was shocked to see after login in her details they had setup a direct debit again so she cancelled it again and was told all of her data would be destroyed, DANGEROUS KEEP WELL AWAY (update) my wife as been Intouch concerning a refund and they refused because they said we cancelled the second subscription that THEY SET UP without our permission, the first subscription was 拢100 and the latest payment had gone to 拢144 and wasn't notified about the increase IN MY EYES THAT IS STEALING

there is no way to cancel the subscription as the link doesnt work, there is no contact info and facebook link is broken, Avoid the company. They get you in contact with pet sitters but after that the subscription stay forever. Avoid as much as you can is a scam

Wishing I'd read the T's & C's. Very scammy website, missing links, hard to contact. Awaiting a response. Cancel subscriptions and bookings not possible to faulty website. Will give them a generous 2nd star if they come back around to refund me.

This January, Holidog tried taking a subscription of 拢57 from my account. I was luckily alerted by my bank's fraud squad and I was able to stop the payment. They tried taking the money twice. I sent them emails and finally after navigating for some time around their site was able to cancel my subscription. I'm still waiting for them to respond to my emails. I'm writing this as I'm waiting for them to pick up the telephone. I've been on the phone waiting, listening to harsh music for more than 15 minutes.

Do not use this company. They charge 拢57 every three months directly to your credit card. Other than your credit card bill the only way to see that you are still paying (basically just to have access to their database – you still have to pay for dog sitters on top of this) is by logging onto your account and seeing invoices there. The whole operation feels very sneaky and unfair. I鈥檝e only used the service once (and even then my dog was moved to someone else as the dog sitter realised that she had to go away half way through the week) and since then have paid over 拢400 in fees. Appreciate I should have been more on top of things but with two young children and both parents working life takes over and things slip through the net. I suspect this is what Holidog rely on to generate their income in many cases. I鈥檝e spoken to Consumer Citizens Advice who will refer to Trading Standards. Can I please ask that anyone else who has experienced anything similar do the same as I don鈥檛 want anyone else to fall into this same trap.
Note as well that there is another company called Holidog UK which seems to have good reviews. This adds further confusion when researching others鈥?reviews. Be very careful and avoid Holidog like the plague.

Terrible !!! Never use them. Have cancelled my subscription a number of times but they still keep charging and automatically turning on subscription. They don鈥檛 let me delete the card details as well. STAY AWAY!!! And the service is not great and the pet sitters are not good as well. Didn鈥檛 find a single decent sitter for my Bernese mountain dog.

For the second time my subscription was taken before the three months was due my three months is due for renewal on November 1st and taken on October 26th. I had diaried it in to cancel the renewal on October 27th and they had already taken the money five days early.

My friend thought they might be using a lunar month but not according to their T鈥檚 and C鈥檚

Where they imply that a month is indeed a calendar month. For example, they clearly state that a year consists of 12 months, so they couldn't use the lunar status as a reason. They do, however, make reference to monies being payable on the 1st of the month :

".2.a – Monthly subscription, with payment every month
Selecting the monthly subscription allows a subscription to the sending service of the monthly box until one Party decides to terminate the contract. In accepting this offer, the Client accepts a monthly debit of the amount defined by their original order. As such, for the duration of the subscription, the Client will be debited the defined sum every month, on the first day of the month and the Client will receive the box between the 20th and the 30th of the month at the latest."

I am writing to my bankers to open a fraud case and will also be contacting trading standards .

This is sharp practice and possibly some sort of fraudulent practice

Avoid at all cost!!! This company will take your money but they do not offer you anything other than a list of people who have signed up with them, the sitters are not vetted or checked in any way and if there is a problem then Holidog gives all the rights to the sitter and absolutely none to the owner. And then if you write a poor review for the sitter they will remove it so the reviews you can see online are biased to the extreme.

We had overseen small issues with a sitter but should have gone with our gut. Latest visit our dog returned with sores and weeping under her arms from her harness. We never have this and it fits correctly. The sitter didnt respond and Holidog havent either. They need regulating.

bought the insurance, dog is hurt, claimed, and they just ignore you. Not even a reply.

Week long holiday lasted 36 hours (including driving to and from Home to Northern France

Petsitter failed to attend on the first night of sitting! Failed to pick up a single piece of dog mess, left 4 dirty cups in the sink, two dirty spoons on the side, somehow twisted the blind cord into a ball, and unplugged my hot tub leaving the plug outside in the elements.

Based in France, bear this in mind if you are thinking of legal recourse, despite the references to UK. None of their UK details are valid.

You are inviting a stranger into your home. HOLIDOG will deny any liability for anything that happens. Personally I don't feel they should be allowed to operate behind these conditions, and you should question the integrity of anyone doing so, whilst taking your money

They are fraudsters, do not use them. They take yourmoney before you can speak to any of the petsitters. Then they give you contact details that you are unable to contact the sitter on. They will not give you a refund. We changed our credit card, as they take further fees once they have your credit card details.

No existing facebook page and link shows error. No telephone number in their website.
Hundreds of pounds charged on a rolling subscription which you do not choose but you have to unchoose
Dog carers cannot be screened very well from France, can they?
It is a lucrative business if people like me are unexpectedly subject to a rolling prescription for years, no wonder it is such a succesfull French start up.

I should have known before registering on this website. I do not have time to read all terms and conditions. After many months I have discovered I am subscribed to their services by three monthly payments of almost 60 pounds each time. I am sorry I do not even remember having subscribed and had used the site a few times before!

When tried to contact them, their facebook page was down as well as all telephone numbers I could find online (not on their website).
They are based in France so not point talking to them in English anyway probably.

How can I prove I have never let myself subscribed on an online service?

Holidog.com appears to have been a succesfull international start up company for the last few years hiring hundreds of people it says in the news?

Still not a facebook page or telephone number to contact them?

Be aware each booking may cost you an extra 50 pounds at least in silly subscriptions. This subscription will roll indefinitely.

Be aware that that when you sign up UNTICK the auto renew button..even if think you've signed up for 3 months only.

This is a rip off. They know all you're looking for is someone to look after your dog but instead of charging a one-off reasonable hook-up fee they charge a subscription of at least three months as though you're going to be using the siite again once you already have a dog sitter. I pity anyone who signs up for a year! But apart form the extortionate fee my anger is due to the fact it's not clear that the subscription is automatically renewed. I was surprised when they took a second payment from my card after three months. I complained and support were reasonably quick at respondng and did end my subsctription immediately but unreasonably did not refund the payment. AVOID HOLIDOG!!!

A terrible experience with Holidog and no comeback from this diabolical company. They ripped us off for a service not provided. I would never recommend this company to anyone and will make sure that as many as possible hear about their theft from our account. This rolling direct debit should be outlawed costing us a further 拢115 for no service. How many around the U.K and Europe have been fleeced? disgusting

I opted for one off payment and by no means have selected to subscribe. In the website in "My Subscriptions" page it also states that I am not a member and brings me to a page to subscribe. However, in my pending transactions I now have a subscription fee of 拢51.30. Please be informed that this company used my card without my permission to subscribe me to its membership fees, which under Customer Rights legislation in UK is illegal.

I will be reporting the amount to my bank as fraudulent and urge Holidog to remove this forced subscription and illegal charges of 拢51.30 as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will be getting legal advice regarding this.

OK, I speak as I find, and Holidog at first refused to refund me, however when I pushed back they did the right thing and refunded my 拢57:00, so all's well.

If I could give no stars for this company I would. They are a scam outfit for sure, like so many more of you I cancelled my subscription immediately after being fortunate enough to find a trustworthy, caring sitter that I have used a number of times, dealing with her directly. I was no way going to be paying another 50 odd pounds for nothing!! That doesn't, seem to worry these thieves though, they simply carried on and took another 拢57 from my account, I will be onto my bank first thing in the morning to put a stop on that and any further payment.

I'm hoping you are doing better than I did and are reading this prior to getting scammed by this lot. There is not even a "contact us" section anywhere on their website, if they were reputable they would be happy for you to contact them.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!

SCAM. Be careful, like a lot of the postings in various sites will make clear, the website is very misleading. It is not clear that you will be charged 拢57 in fees, you will then have to pay your sitter cash. The sitters are definitely not vetted in anyway – so you are basically leaving your pet with a pleasant (because they want your cash) stranger. You may as well stop a stranger in the street and give them your pet, in the hope that you will get it back unharmed and still healthy.
I have emailed repeatedly and they simply refuse to respond. The fact that the fake email they use is for Ana who is register as 鈥楻efund Manager鈥?would suggest that they get a lot of requests. The telephone number has been disconnected due to FRAUDULENT activity.
Do not use this company, go elsewhere.
