Consider this email as termination of my membership.
I actually agreed to be part of the Kids club because I love books and I strongly believe that teaching kids to hold a book in their hands gives them another perception of the books value. But much to my disappointment this Kids club membership brought me far more trouble than joy.
When you are trying to earn money from new mothers/parents, please make it easier to pay the bills. In the 21st century, in Denmark, there are many ways to pay a bill. Shame on you, Gyldendals that you are so inflexible and have only bank transfer as an option. Your target group doesn鈥檛 necessarily have the time to log in to the bank and make a bank transfer. How difficult it is to make other payment modes possible? MobilePay, PayPal …. I am sure you have heard of them.
Secondly, sending bills and reminders by post is not only outdated but also risky. I got obviously two reminders to pay my bill, which I never opened. This of course resulted in sending me to inccasso. But we could have saved ourselves the trouble if you have sent all these to my E-Boks.
I am almost thinking that your aim is to bother parents with small kids. I can almost call this extortion. And I am saying almost because I do not want to believe it.
I was warned about your book club before joining, but I did not believe the bad reputation your book club has, however now I have joined the choir of unsatisfied costumer that warn of your service.
So, dear Gyldendals, I am planning from now on to never buy books published and sold by you.

I am new in this country but i do have enough qualifications to understand the terms and conditions. Every single word I translate and never go for when there are misunderstandings in any kinds of issues in Danish. I was a pregnant for my babygirl when I applied for several free 鈥渂abypakkers鈥?in Odense, Denmark. Happily, all of them easily send us many items that worth for more than 2000 kr and never made any troubles. Once i saw the same offer in Gyldendals site I followed the same steps that i did million times but this cheaters send me bills worths about 3000 kronas!!! because of the free welcome pack that i even haven鈥檛 opened! Whick was just a 鈥渇ree pack鈥? And they just wrote 39 kronas for delivering! Now my Girl is 11 months old, when i came back from my maternity leave to Denmark I received a huge amount of money because of all this unuseful items. The reminders that sent me by post haven鈥檛 been detected and now i am translating all the papers and i am just in shock! I won鈥檛 pay a penny and going to return all the staff that they send me. And We are ready for any kinds of legal conditions! Poor to you!
I have never come across with such kind of behaviors before in Denmark, and I think that this company spoils the face of this country in the world and is a shame for all people!

Making everything ready before the birth of our daughter was priority number one and it is something not easy to actually do. In Denmark some companies offer free baby-packages to new parents and new babies in order to help them start the new adventure. We found these companies through the website gratis-babypakke.dk. Companies as LIDL, FAKTA, NEMIT and BABYSAM truly offer free-baby packages.
But among these listed companies there is also Gyldendals Boernebogklubber. Gyldendals website stated (at least in the website of 2018) that "you can order a book for 0 kr." and they even gave us a choice among three books.
The only thing to pay was the delivery expenses for 39 kr.
However, before ordering the book you need to click on a button, which accepts some conditions. These conditions are written with very small characters and they state that if you order the free-book then you need to order at least two other books within one year, and that you automatically become member.
My wife, who does not speak Danish, made the mistake of ordering the free-package and from then we kept receiving a package per month and especially invoices which we never accepted.
I have noticed that the offer still appears on the website today (July 2019) gratis-babypakke.dk but when pressing the link, it is stated that the offer is not valid any longer and it is not linked any more to gyldendals-boernebogklub.dk. Funny enough there are still the screenshots from the valid offer, so there you have the prove.
Once we understood it was a clear SCAM, we sent back to Gyldendals Borneboklubber ALL PACKAGES that we received and spent more than 150 DKK in shipping expenses.
Today we have just received a letter from the ALEKTUM GROUP that is asking us 1.166,35 DKK to cover the expenses for the service.
Sorry…. THE EXPENSES OF WHAT SERVICE? We have received no service at all! we have SENT BACK ALL PACKAGES RECEIVED, EVEN THE FREE ONES!!!
To us and to all these complaining customers this is not a service THIS IS HELL.
We are definitely not going to pay any amount, and we are ready to go to court. Our lawyer has already been informed and he is suggesting the same.

And let me guess, they will comment to my review that I didn鈥檛 read the conditions when I asked for a 鈥渇ree鈥?babypakke and I didn鈥檛 provide my membership number to 鈥渉elp鈥漨e with support. I鈥檒l order the second book and then they have to stop this scamp. All together around 500kr for crap worth 100kr!

Right! the bottom line is I want to cancel today but hey I can't do it because I have to order one more Item beside the above DKK 279.90 danish books. Or if I don't want that then two more items with the Kluppris (title next to it) which is altogether a value of more than DKK 300.
So for you all who is reading the best solution how to cancel is return the items you have got is as below; call them ask them to charge if you have to void the terms and conditions and the price in my case is DKK 179.90. they will send you an invoice by email.
I will pay it to scammer like them and think that the mistake I did for ordering Plates worth DKK 39 is actually DKK 218.90.

i am sorry to say these things, i am sure there are also good intentions at play and that some people running it are amazing, but it is just so utterly stupidly managed and its not at all how a book club for children should work.

Additionally the shop sends you monthly books without you approving such purchase, you get it by your door and have to pay for the delivery when returning, or in order to save for the delivery change it for another product. I have returned now the monthly book for over three weeks, but they have not received it yet! And I am not able to receive my new order for 3 weeks now! Addtitionally after 2 months they inform me that my first payment for delivery of the babypakke was not received!
It is so far my worst experience with service in Denmark, I would not recommend any coming mothers to purchase anything from this shop and be stressed about all of this…

you have accepted our terms and condition , you have enrolled your self …. You've signed up for this membership yourself – you can't become a member unless you agree to the terms and conditions – which you did. And now you're criticizing us and giving us a bad review despite your request for this membership – that's not fair.
As a consumer, you always have 14 days to cancel your membership – but when you contact us after the 14 days, you can't …..
REALLY ??? people realize after 14 days when they get your crap invoice …..people pay worth of 1000+kr every months for bills were they directly or indirectly accept terms but never ever ever face this kind of scam specially in denmark ….
i simply returned the things everytime which they sent me still you want money just for returned items which was just 49 kr . so i need to pay 49kr for 3 times is 147kr for just worth of 10kr book ….and because i returned books and did not paid amount because i returned ….you svine passed my private data and information to other firm called ELEKTUM GROUP and they claim the money to me by adding them's addition fee and they send me invoice of 1121 kr …. really are you out of your mind ??? when you call ELEKTUM GROUP they have also one standard answer that our client claim due money to you so now we are handling the case as a debt collector firm ….even they do not know that i have returned the trash which they send me …
anything you do but you will not get money from me … simply just send me court invitation were i can meet you and mention how you indirectly enroll forcefully to buy your product ….

The only way to get away from these monthly overpriced books is to manually cancel it and if you forgot then you have to whether pay the overpriced book (+200kr) or pay return fee!!
I've reached out to them to figure out how to cancel my membership but I'm pretty sure that they well protected themselves from this with some ridiculous terms in there membership TOS.
It's pure SCAM.

Answer to a comment: my summary would be that out of around 10 baby pakke that I ordered online, only Gyldendals Boernebogklub ended up costing me 550 dkk!! Oh yes, I got 2 books for that – the second one is about 30 pages and could be bought in any other shop for, I guess, max 50dkk, whereas here it costed me 229dkk. As your consultant told me "you should not expect something for free and not to give anything in return" – that is describing your company policy at its best!
I thought it was Ryanair that know how to cheat and earn money by having this brilliant response "please read the terms", but Gyldendals is definitely ahead of them!! With Ryanair you at least get to choose where to fly 🙂
And pretty impressive that you react to a comment on Trustpilot within one hour, whereas no response to my email in 4-5 days.
2nd Nov paid he bill for the book and asked to cancel my membership. 7th of November I receive a new book and invoice but no response to my email. That is a truly impressive service!

You sign in for a so called free babypakke and end up paying a lot of money to get rid of this useless membership. I either have to pay 500 kr for this worthless babypakle or I have to buy two books that are of no use to me As I donot understand danish. Be aware and NEVER SIGN IN before knowing the concequences

2) When you become member on internet, they are not giving anything free. But still they expect you to mimum pay for buy 2 books when you deregister as member. As anybody taken them to court of law?
Looking at your answer:
If you would have written AT PAGE 7, You will have to pay 1 million DKK to Gyldendals for 2 years. It would not have hold true. You cannot just write anything in your Terms and Condition.
I have not recieved any magazine or password to login as notice.
Look at all the review and learn something rather than writting same answers to everyone.
Give feedback to your boss or management if someday you get tired answering.
