Received an email on 12/30 telling me I must wire funds in order to pay my contractors by the due date of 1/4. I had setup the payment on 12/24, 6 days prior. If there was a problem then GUSTO should have notified me much sooner instead of at 7:30 PM on 12/30. And I had to get this done on 12/31, in addition to everything I had to do on the last day of the year. I also had to pay for the wiring fee.
Spoke with at least 3 people. Useless. If you want a reliable payroll company seek elsewhere. I don't even care about customer service at this point. Just pay my people when you say you will pay or give me some reasonable advance notice.

I've been a gusto customer for several years (they used to be called Zen payroll). At first, they were great: well priced, and provided decent services for a small business. Unfortunately, as the company has grown their prices have gone up and their customer service has gotten really bad.
Recently they mailed an employee's local withholding to the wrong city. That city received the check and – despite it being made out to a different city – cashed it. Now, the city who should have received the check wants their money and Gusto has been no help.
Gusto's solution to their mistake is to tell me that I need to call the city who cashed the check and convince them on the phone to refund my money. And, I need to write a new check to the city who should have received the payment in the first place.
I pay Gusto to pay withholding for my employees to the right tax entities when due and they have failed to accomplish that basic (and essential) task, acknowledged their careless error, and insist that it is now my job to fix their mistake.
This is unacceptable. I'll be shopping for a new payroll provider.

Gusto's customer service is horrible and has harmed our company. We have been a client since 2016. The company has been growing appreciably since we joined as a customer. Customer service has declined in proportion to market growth.
We have had three major issues with gusto just in the last year (2019 and now into 2020)
(1) Failure to file tax filings on time and file them properly; costing massive penalties with the IRS despite us communicating changes well in advance.
(2) Failure to adequately establish and cancel healthcare for certain employees under one of our entities; a catastrophe which also forced a provider switch last minute after employees had chosen plans. This was an unmitigated disaster for our company and a huge impact to morale and the trust of management.
(3) Very poor communication; consuming weeks of management time to resolve issues they should be handling for us.
Cannot in good faith recommend this company.

Even sent goods without ordering as i was on holiday , ( FOOD LEFT ON DOORSTEP)they "didn t want to have us without food" should have read small print ,needless to see this is now cancelled and I will ALWAYS READ SMALL PRINT IN THE FUTURE

I guarantee that you will never regret the day you moved to Gusto!
I came to Gusto a little more than 3-1/2 years ago. Even though I manage HR and payroll for a small company (less than 15 employees), I was desperate to find some relief with a better system than spreadsheets. Managing health insurance renewals, paid time-off, and insurance reporting was a nightmare.
Voila! I found Gusto, and I have never been happier! Their customer support is spot on and super-pleasant!

It has been about 6 months since we started utilizing Gusto for our HR, Payroll, and Benefits. We are very pleased with the level of customer service and the time it has freed up for us to spend on running our business – they handle everything else. We're a client on their concierge services and it's 1000% worth it. It's great to have a go to team to respond to any questions you have, they also help resolve issues for employees and are really responsive. The HR portal is also a great resource.

As a CPA that has worked with many payroll service providers, I can say Gusto is far and away the best. It almost seems too good to be true but I have no reason so far to think it is. The service so far has been absolutely amazing.

Gusto is remarkable. The system just works. I鈥檓 not an accountant. When I don鈥檛 understand a feature, I email or call and they鈥檙e helpful, friendly and answer every question I鈥檝e got. They鈥檙e peeps are based in Denver, so conversations are totally easy to understand the first time around. If only they could be my assistant! ?

As a new business owner, taxes are the last thing I want to spend time on. After setting up the service and connecting it to my Quickbooks account, Gusto has been a HUGE time saver. Gusto's tech and voice support are also friendly, knowledgeable, and top notch.
Signing up for Gusto was the #1 financial action item I took during 2018. Highly recommend their service.

After almost 3 decades of staffing my workforce with 1099 people I finally had to hire someone who would be salaried. I was less than enthusiastic about this move because of the bookkeeping involved and the need to be precisely correct in dealing with Federal & State tax issues. From the moment I found Gusto the transition has been silky smooth and simple. I have found their platform to be lighthearted and inviting. Payroll day is a cinch and I鈥檓 not worrying about the details…And that鈥檚 a good thing.
