Ordered a half dozen raspberry plants which arribed in very poor condition. Only 1 survived the season whereas my other half dozen raspberrys from Lowe's had survived and are thriving. They are of the same variety. Also had no luck from the seeds which I bought at a premium from them compared to the seeds I'd bought elsewhere. Every year they just keep getting worse. For what they charge they certainly fail to deliver. Just stay away.

Ordered on April 1 and got my order June 15. Had to complain twice. They finally acknowledged and arbitrarily gave me a $20 credit for my next order. Which is no better than the usual catalog incentive. My sweet corn is now 4' tall and withered; no corn and no more growth. I still think highly of their seeds but their order processing this year is a complete ripoff.

Very poor products arrived months after ordering. Razmatazz grape bush for $49.99 arrived in a 4" pot. It was mostly just a twig with about 4 leaves. Customer service not good either. Long wait time and representative from India, Will not order from them again

Earlier this year I ordered a dogwood and two gooseberry bushes, which were both 2鈥?high; all three failed to leaf out and died. On 3/25 I ordered six each tomato and pepper plants with expected shipment in early May. They did not ship until 6/5 and did not arrive until 6/12. The tomatoes were 2鈥?high and stunted, shriveled, and yellowed. The peppers were green stems with no leaves. I have photos. I would never purchase such poor quality plants from a nursery, but I am now housebound due to the coronavirus. I asked for a refund but have had no response. I am a lifetime gardener. Gurneys has probably taken every order they could and then shipped inferior plants to make a swift buck off of people desperate for plants to be shipped to them. Shame on them.

I placed an order early this year & they kept pushing back the ship date. Two of the items were cancelled as they were about to be sent – at the end of June!! The third was sent but lost between UPS & the post office. Of course, that is now out of stock too. Same thing happened with out of stock items last fall too. Will NOT order from them again!!!

Honestly if I could give it zero stars I would. Don鈥檛 waste your money. Terrible customer service I鈥檝e been waiting two days for supervisor to call me back. The product is terrible and they never have anything in stock. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

I was so excited to find this particular tree altogether. It arrived broken and dried out in a plastic bag in a broken box. There was no soil, no moisture, no packing material. I tried to to bring it back to life, hoping it was only mostly dead. No luck. I will be refunded only because I used American Express. The man who answered couldn't care less about poor packaging and wanted me to take credit. hahahahaha

I ordered a GOJI Berry plant and they delivered as dead completely.
1. They are not ready to give a replacement.
2. They given a replacement certificate which I have to pay shipping $6 again.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE,
Don't go with this..

I can only give my experience 1 star because I can't give less. I ordered sweet potato plants on 1 June 2020. My order shipped 5 June 2020 and did not arrive until 18 June 2020. My plants were dead. Most plants were completely dried up…some stems were green but all leaves were dead and though I tried to revive the green stems by placing in water(as per the enclosed instructions), all of the green stems turned to mush within 2 days. Prior to my order arriving, I had called the main number to inquire about the plants and reached a call center in the Phillipines. I was told by that rep to call FedEx or the USPS. I called FedEx and was told the package was in transit. When I opened the package on the day of delivery I took pictures of the dreadful condition of the plants. I called the main number again today, waited on hold for a long time, and finally reached the same call center in the Philippines. I demanded a refund and asked how I could reach someone from Gurneys in the USA. I was told to call the main number.
Bottom line, I did not receive live plants…I received compost scraps.

I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. I ordered in May and got an email saying plants would ship but June 8. It is June 18 and I have not received my plants. Don't know whether they have shipped. The growing season is 1/3 over here in Chicago and I have nothing to plant. I received notice of a refund from PayPal and nothing from Gurney's. When I checked several plants were deleted from my order. Never any communication. I called customer service and was told "We haves to ship summer plants by June 22. They'll come."

I ordered $650 worth of arborvitae emrald green shrubs. When I received them, the were far from emerald green. They didn't come with the roots encompassed with soil and the roots were dry as hell and the branches were already Browning and wilting. I planted them anyway and have been nurturing them for about a month. They don't look like they're going to make it.

Pathetic!

Smallest, most pitiful plants I have ever bought. One of the three was dead and two were smaller than promised and in poor condition. I have grown tomato plants for years. The next time I will go to Laurel's Heirloom Tomatoes in Californiashe ships the largest, most beautiful, picture-perfect plants I have ever ordered by mail.
Gurney, you should be embarrassed for the pitiful plants you shipped to me in Kentucky!

I originally ordered raspberry plants they were rotted when they arrived. They replaced them with more rotted plants. So since they won't give your money back I ordered flowers I believe it was June never received a them until the beginning of November and the rest end of November. Needless to say no of them came up this year. I always heard that Gurneys was good. NOT! So I have nothing to show for $60 worth of plants and over $40 in shipping. It makes me sick I wasted that much money.

Ordered back in April…billed me that same day. I could not reach the company via E mail or phone. I finally had my credit card company take the charge off. Then company notify me that one part of order was being shipped. I finally got a hold of the company & told them to cancel the order…buyer beware!

Despite claims that seeds would be shipped for timely planting in my zone, most of my order arrived too late for optimal planting. After over a month of waiting, I purchased seeds locally, and emailed Gurney's asking my order to be cancelled. This resulted in Gurney's sending me an email two hours later stating that my order was shipping.
Other issues – items that were in stock at time of order, were not shipped. I received notifications weeks after placing the order that stock for specific items was depleted and would not ship.

Ordered rhubarb bulbs and when I received them one had a split below the crown and I just tried anyway. I just got out of major back surgery and asked my wife to just dig easy to find the bulb and it was mush, they just threw the bulbs in a bag with no protection no bubble wrap and at $20.00 a bulb and sent me the most sad sweet potatoes starts I have ever seen. Then I finally got a person on the phone they are out of everything and sent me a email that they were canceling my order for non payment, WHAT THE HECK

I ordered 2 types of tomato plants, they shipped them on a holiday and they sat for 3 days in a terminal and then 2 days to get delivered. they were dead when they got here and half of them the stem was pinched in half, I didnt even try to plant them. I have wanted to try grape plants so I thought I would give it a try, 1 was OK the others looked like cloths pins with bare roots, how is this supposed to grow. yes you get a credit but to reorder they tell you that they are out of stock. how can you be out of stock in May. so save the hassle and poor products, go shop at Home Depot

I ordered several raspberry and strawberry bushes from this company. I didn't receive one of the Anne raspberry bushes I paid for and wrote to customer service immediately asking for a refund. After 2 weeks they Informed me I will get a CREDIT not a REFUND. I will loose $9.99, the cost of the MISSING item, as I will never order from them again!

They ship bare root plants that are already dead on arrival and WILL NOT REFUND SHIPPING CHARGES. Will not refund your money, but give you credit for future purchase. When you want to purchase something that is still in season, shows everything Out of Stock. I've had it with this BS. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I ordered from Gurneys for the first and most certainly the last time two months ago. When they couldn't ship part of my order, they did not apply my coupon, and billed me full price for the remaining items. A lavender and a rose plant cost me over $53, and the lavender plant has already died. Buyer Beware.

My tomatoes were on the road 8 days during shipping, and I receive dead plants. I sent an e-mail and only received an automated response.
