I don't understand the other reviewers problems with Gudrun Sjoden. I have had nothing but good experiences with this designers company. I have bought nearly four thousand dollars worth of clothing and have had to return a few because of size. No problems with return and customers service has always been helpful.
I like the clothing and it is very comfortable and versatile.

I bought the horisont dress, expensive, but I decided to treat myself. But when I took it out of the package and tried it on, it was so see through that I could see my entire body. I was so incredibly disappointed! The material was paper thin, very cheaply made for it costing $114! I do not recommend buying from this store. I could have gone to Walmart or Target and have gotten the same quality fabrics. That's the last purchase I will make with them.

I used to love Gudrun Sj枚d茅n clothes, I liked the unique and fun designs, and I didn't mind paying the expensive prices because the clothes were beautifully made and the quality of the fabrics was exceptional. I still wear pieces I bought ten years ago, they are still holding up well.
But I made a purchase recently and was shocked at the decline in quality of the clothes. I bought a cotton dress and the fabric is thin and feels stiff and cheap, and the knee-high sock I bought are flimsy compared to others I bought years ago. I am so disappointed that I can't rely on the quality of Gudrun Sj枚d茅n any more, I have unsubscribed from the mailing list.
The customer service has also declined. I enquired about a colour option that was out of stock, and I received a curt, unfriendly reply to my email. I wasn't expecting a favourable answer to my question, but some simple courtesy would have been nice.
Lastly, the shopping experience on the website is irritating ever since they decided to show every colour option of every item as a separate search/browse result. Other websites do this too, and I hate this trend, it means browsing through search results or a category takes forever because every item comes up multiple times. I usually give up about halfway through. A much better way is to show a picture of each item in one of the colours, and show the other colour options as swatches at the bottom of the result. Prana (for example) does this really well. If you want to see the item in a different colour option you just have to click on the swatch and the picture changes to that colour. So much easier!

Shoddily made garment, sewing faults, fabric too delicate for use as trousers. Company less than upfront about return costs: 8 euro's. Buying and receiving the order went well and timely.

I love the quirky fashion of Gudrun and have purchased from them faithfully for several years and am a member of their 鈥渃lub鈥? Although the clothes are quite pricey for me I splurge for the individuality and quality. I have noticed that, particularly in the last year, the quality of the clothing has decreased substantially.
Although washed on delicate and never dried stitching on at least two items has come loose in non stress areas. I also noticed that various locations were shown on the tags of clothing – Primarily India and Bulgaria.
As a member of Gudrun鈥檚 鈥渃lub鈥?I receive credits at the end of the year for my purchases which are given $ discount on a future purchase. Somewhere along the line a second customer number was created. I discovered this when I requested my credits from last year. Customer service advised they can鈥檛 allow credits from one customer number to another. Amazingly cheap response from an overpriced retailer to a (formerly) loyal customer.
Gudrun Sjoden designs are not complicated nor production expensive. I will be looking for another designer to fill their slot.

I first ordered from this company years ago, when they were new on the scene; expensive but great quality and I still have the items from those days which I sometimes wear. But last season after a 6 year gap, tried again. Happy with a couple of items, but they have not lasted as well as previously: I got some nice jersey pants for 拢40 ( on their cheaper scale) Disappointed after wearing and washing: the wide elastic inside the waistband became bent and uncomfortable, couldnt straighten it; got more twisted with wear and washing; didnt send back as cant be bothered with arguing with their customer service- put it down to decrease in quality standards and would counsel against buying cheaper spectrum: poor quality and do not last and not really cheap actually! Also their costs for returning and postage are riduculous for a mature company: I tried to add to an order made a few minutes before and was told on the phone: not possible, so had to pay 2 shipping charges. Then I also had to pay 拢10 on each of the parcels for returns. This is no longer a struggling start up company. I think time is long overdue for customers not have to carry the cost of delivery and returns, particularly as quality has gone downhill.

I bought a Diana tunic last year, roughly October 2019. I wore it about four times and washed carefully after each wear as it鈥檚 a silk mix fabric. On the last wear at the end of January the armpit areas tore and it was the material rotting not the seams. I reported it to Gudrun and asked for a reply paid envelope so that the tunic could be replaced. Three emails later and still no sign of the reply paid envelope and no refund nor a replacement tunic. Gudrun is hopeless. I definitely won鈥檛 be buying from them again and wished I鈥檇 saved my money

To add insult to injury (and to my earlier review!), company also fails to refund their original postage charge on return of goods – entire order sent back. This is against the law, have reported to Trading Standards.

I have been dealing with this company for many years. I love their imaginatively designed clothing and accessories. I have never experienced the alleged 拢10 charge on returns. On the contrary, the after sales and customer service are excellent – whenever I ring up, the staff are always helpful. The clothes stand up to any scrutiny in respect of quality and value for money.

Having initially revelled in this quirky collection of clothes, my opinion has changed over the past two years . I reordered an item in an alternative colour only to find the second of a completely different and vastly inferior cotton fabric – they have clearly changed supplier for a cheaper product , both of which were same price . The prices, despite having outsourced to India are now pretty extortionate.. dropping them off my radar from now on … the returns service appalling …. customer services rude ( they refused to give me contact details for Head Office ). And…. in an environmentally aware world there really is no need for the chunky regular catalogues… unless requested. A great idea but sadly a company who offer very poor value for money ….. why should I have to collect from a newsagents . !!!!!!?????

This company make quirky clothes but although I love 'organic cotton' the prices are absurdly high and in photos the models are usually heavily accessorised. The returns policy which automatically deducts 拢10 on each item returned is something that trading standards should look into.
The women manning the 'Customer Services' need training on how to deal with the public. They are brusque to the point of sheer rudeness. Not a good public profile when they are the first contact with this company.

Sadly, very disappointed. Have previously had good experience with Gudrun, including some of my favorite jersey cotton pants, extremely comfortable and colorful, that I wear for teaching my fiber arts classes. Recently ordered pants in December, long ship time! and today they show up bearing no resemblance in style, fabric or color to what I ordered. Called, discussed item numbers versus ordered item numbers and got a very abrupt customer service rep saying, "Oh, too bad, warehouse mistake, what you ordered is all sold out. Have a good day!" Did offer refund but you know? When you are looking forward to something and wait a long time and then…Sigh. Not good

I found their returns policy confusing, they deducted 拢10 when I returned my parcel using their returns label. I don't know
of any other company that deduct so much when you return an item in perfect condition.

I am also disabled and therefore requested a UPS collection of a returns parcel. I have waited for two whole days when they have said they were coming between 9am and 7pm. On the first day they said that they had come and that I was not in, that was not true and they didn鈥檛 leave a note to say they had been, all other parcel companies do this. I was assured that they would come today, they didn鈥檛. I am having to spend hours on phone calls. The goods are worth 拢80. I have been a loyal customer but I wouldn鈥檛 like to risk using Gudrun Sjoden again. I feel that I am owed some explanation. Wish me luck trying to get on to UPS again tomorrow morning

Being virtually housebound, I requested home delivery. My parcel was left at a collection point in a nearby village, the delivery driver claiming that I was not home to receive it, which was untrue. No-one let me know what had happened to my parcel, and I only found out when I rang their help line, and the call handler implied that the situation was my fault. I still don't have my parcel. Gudrun Sjoden has my money, and there is no sign of any 'customer service'.
I have pointed out that I have had no problem with deliveries from Hermes, Amazon, Ocado, Royal Mail or our local pharmacy.

great clothes, really good quality but regrettably poor customer service; they seem to re-interpret messages – in their own way- apparently to find the easiest solution FOR THEM

I love the look and the clothes and they are pricey. I made the mistake of assuming that because they promote themselves as a sustainable and ethical company that their customer service would be along the lines of somewhere like Lakeland. How wrong I was. After many years of shopping with them, I bought a wool coat this winter. Within two or three times of wearing, the fabric already started to pill under the arms and sides. It is not a robust coat-worthy wool felt, which is not good for the cost, especially as I expect a few years of wear before it starts to look worn (I don鈥檛 think this is unreasonable, my last coat from Top Shop was a wool felt one which cost about 拢70 and lasted 10 years before the usual signs of wear and tear took their toll). So I contacted customer service who asked to see photos. I sent two, clearly showing the issue, the reply I got was that they couldn鈥檛 see anything wrong so could I, at my expense, return the coat for examination. This was well within the standard return time of 30 days too. I replied expressing my disappointment with their response, politely, and haven鈥檛 heard from them since. I will continue to wear my coat until it鈥檚 just too tatty (probably in a couple of months time) and will not shop there again.

I called customer service this morning after placing my first order over the weekend. I read about " how pleasant this company is to work with" so you can imagine how shocked and disappointed I was to speak with a woman who was rude, sounded almost angry that I called and was abrupt in her answers. She clearly did not want to help me. My first order will be my last.

I was very disappointed to find on ordering over 拢200 of clothing on what I thought was free delivery I still had to pay a further 拢3 if I wanted to have it delivered to my home address . The catalogue states SHOPPING WITH US IS SIMPLE FREE DELIVERY, but keep reading the small print, its not free and the returns system is also NOT FREE . Ive cancelled the order and on looking at your review page it would seem I have made the right decision.

I have ordered lots of knitwear from GS. top quality, great design, stunning colours, wash well. Not mass produced. Unfortunately the tunics and dresses dont suit my shape but that isnt fault of GS.
Delivery good. Returns/refunds reliable.
Customer service staff polite, helpful.
Beautiful recyclable catalogue.
Respect company ethos.

I love these clothes and feel the shipping from overseas is very reliable and quick. Sometimes things are back ordered which is fine and understandable. The quality is quite excellent for the price point and I have found discovering this product to be a great joy! The telephone customer service has always been helpful and pleasant in my experience.

Not a good choice. Their free returns policy is not accurate, which in and of itself is a problem. But their clothing was poorly designed and there was an error on the shoes. I鈥檓 amazed they鈥檙e in business.

I have fallen in love with GS clothing and have created quite a little collection in the past year or so. I am a Seattle artist traveling to many art fairs to sell my work, and I find the pieces to be comfortable, interesting, and fun, with easy maintenance for quick turnaround between shows. They are a little expensive for me, so I watch the sales, but the quality is worth the investment. I get lots of comments on my style and feel great combining the clothing with classic and vintage to create a look unique for me. I've never had to return an item, so I can't speak to that issue.
