I was a little nervous because a lot of the reviews cry foul but since GSMliberty is so well priced and I figured I could get the CC transaction reversed if they didn't deliver I went ahead with the purchase. Put simply I'm glad I did. Not only was the whole purchase process smooth, they emailed me the unlock code for my Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-I317M) in 3 1/2 hours, which is much faster than they initially said. The real test came when I went to use the code, of course, and I'm happy to say the unlocking was flawless.
The ONLY suggestion I have to make it a better experience is that GMSliberty should recommend software for people to backup their existing phone contents and then restore it to the newly unlocked phone. I ended up finding and using Wondershare MobileTrans, which I recommend because it too was flawless… My wife is now up & running on her new phone with all the important data that was on the old LG.

Not only did my code never come. But the company assured me I would not be charged – I was then charged. THAT'S NOT THE WORST BIT. My card is then charged for a number of transactions for Boot Camps and Beauty Products. THIS COMPANY IS NOT SECURE, THIS COMPANY CANNOT PROVIDE THE PRODUCTS IT CLAIMS – I have reported them to the Canadian Fraud Agencies.

Many of the 5/5 star reviews here are fake and should not be trusted. The reality of the site is that they are scam artists. If you're lucky, your code will work. If you're like me, chances are it didn't and now they won't refund you. I was accused of lying about my phone being unlocked and told to give more info. I've been nothing but patient and willing to work with them, but they refuse to give me my "no questions asked" refund, stating that it can only be done if my phone is really locked. They said my issue was unrelated to that and wouldn't qualify for a refund unless I answered more of their questions.
I don't want my phone unlocked anymore. You've wasted my time, and now you're stealing my money. Four emails and an hour later on their customer service chat, they tell me their servers suddenly need an update so I can't be refunded right now.
DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE. This is a scam and they refuse to refund you when their codes don't work. You will be given the run around. I've contacted my bank and the BBB. If you've been scammed by them, I suggest doing the same. I will now be contacting the IC3 about this issue. I hope that $23 was worth getting the authorities involved.

I'm writing this because I had a hard time believing some of these reviews. They sounded so amazing and almost unbelievable – as if they were fabricated by the company on fake accounts.
Why am I writing this review? Because I wanted to be the real person that cleared the air for everyone. GSMLiberty did their job, straight up. They did what I asked of them. They unlocked my Galaxy S3 with the first code they sent on the 2nd tier registry 'search'.
Backstory Coles Notes:
1) Bought phone from friend that was locked to Rogers Canada
2) Paid for first tier registry search from GSMLiberty
3) GSMLiberty said they could not find a code, so they asked for more money (still cheaper than Rogers unlocking it)
4) Provided them money, gave them 24 hours
5) Wrote a nasty ticket threatening to pull my money if they don't comply with a code
6) Code shows up 2 hours later
7) Code worked after 2nd attempt using 2nd solution for my phone.
So, why didn't they warn me about the 2nd tier charge before I bought the 1st tier? Seems kind of dodgy, right? Seems really fishy, so thats why I wrote them a nasty-gram about collecting my money after 24 hours of waiting.
Would the code have appeared at the same time had I not sent the angry email? I have no idea.
Did the code legitimately work? YES.
Did I record the unlock for proof? Hell no, I didn't think it was going to work!
Did it work?
YES.
3 stars because of the shifty and poor communication of the possible 2nd tier search.

I had two iPhone 4s to unlock. One was locked to Rogers in Canada – GSM Liberty provided the code very promptly and the unlock process worked flawlessly. The second one was a different story. This phone was locked to Bell Canada and it cost 3x the amount to unlock the Rogers carrier phone. The first time the unlocking did not work. After several stressful events when trying to contact GSM customer service ( phone service does not work) and various fruitless chat exchanges with someone that seemed so untrustworthy over the chat line, Jason responded 8 days later and said to try the unlocking process again. This time the unlocking worked (thanks Jason from GSM Liberty). However happy I was that I did not loose $115 ( because I am convinced that I would have never gotten a refund if the unlock did not work – check BBB website for GSMLiberty), it was very frustrating customer service experience. Although I have been their customer 3 times already, I am never going back. My recommendation: take your money elsewhere.

They didn't provide the unlock code as they said they world in a timely manner. When the code did come it didn't work. Beware of this cheating company as they will not give you your money back when you request, they say 100% satisfaction buy that is also a lie.

Great customer service and they diden't stop until I was unlocked. I had an AT&T Galaxy S3 that I bought used and wanted to use on another carrier. Had previous owner contact AT&T for the unlock code and was given same code each time but neither one worked. So I tried one of the "Free Unlock Code" sites without any luck either. At this point I gave in and went with the first unlock code company mentioned in one of the Android forums. I signe dup with GSMLiberty, submitted my phones info, paid my fee and several hours later my unlock code came in an email. Sadly it did not work so I let their customer support know. Seems in the process of attempting the unlock with AT&T and the crappy free sites code, I altered some settings. GSMLiberty had me make some slight changes (step by step instructions) and next thing I know I AM UNLOCKED. Highly recommend GSMLiberty.

It took about twice as long as they suggested to receive the unlock code. However, once in hand, it worked perfectly. They provided thorough and understandable instructions. An excellent service at a great price.

We actually don't have the code…that's the answer I got the next day.
I needed a back up cell and had found a good deal. Being locked to a different carrier I asked the guy to send me the IMEI.
Entering all the phone and carrier info on GSM Liberty, their webpage confirmed the phone model and set the price and code delivery time.
The next day what I got was not the code but a message, stating that they couldn't find the code…
Of course they never offered any explanation. You can also call their help line,in case you wanna speak to Apu…
Wasted time and stuck with a phone I cannot use.

I ordered the unlock code, waited for a few days, got the code, and successfully and easily unlock my t-mobile galaxy s3. Though it took a few days, which should have been hours, but I was satisfied with the result. Recommended!

First time I had to unlock a phone as I had lost my previous phone which was still under contract for another year. Because I still had to pay, I wanted to use an old flip phone from before since I was paying monthly for the service.
Code came within 24 hrs. I had to look around the internet for instructions so I was clear, but the info was there. 4 stars out of 5
