Grindr

Basically the worst. Where to begin? Respect is given and (handsomely) paid (and ohhhh my how expensive Grindr+ costs!) for this atrocity app – the first of its kind me thinks. Technically it buggy AF. It crashes constantly and "lost chats" is so common it should be a pre loaded 'saved phrase' feature. This gay legacy is stacked with users who are whack: catfishes, time wasters, bullies, bluffers and bots.

I can attest that yes good dudes and times are to be had on the platform, but they are few and far between. You (or some Jack-off) will waste countess, precious hours of your life – usually during a time of dire need (and vulnerably) when you genuinely were seeking satisfaction and socialization. The app has killed many young homo's swagger, their social skills and decimated the culture of cruising and nightlife industry. However, Grindr is not intrinsically a bad platform or novelty, but would the world be a better place without the orange scourge: ohhhhh Yes.

Grindr is one of those free-to-use apps that lurks somewhere in the realm of nowhere. They lure you in with the arena of a service you find attractive and needful. You take the bite and open a free-to-use account. The syrupy sweet nectar of trolling other guys' profiles and their pics becomes addictive to the point you crave more. Then you do it, you click that side button on your iPhone or Android and confirm the purchase of the minimal and cheapest, re-occurring level of membership. SNAP! Grindr's mouse trap just made a sale that is nearly impossible to get back. You just purchased the "Xtra" features. Yes, you can cancel the subscription at any time. But, Wait! There's more! You suddenly realize that fee you just paid for 30-days of membership gets you very little extra. Maybe one bell or a whistle more than the free-to-use version. Suddenly, you can't click this or that without being rolled to the "Unlimited" package option to purchase the right to use those features. "Hmm" you think."$39.99 isn't really that bad." So, you stick your finger in the jaws of the next trap- we'll just call it the rat trap. SNAP! It's stings a little more but the distraction of getting five extra bells or three whistles more make up for the discomfort.
On the second day, you begin noticing things that shouldn't be. You blocked a big bad dude that you just can't bear to see in your grid. Then the next day, he's back. Maybe he has another account? Okay. You block him again. Then he comes back a day later. What's the deal!? Years ago, Grindr used to put a "hard" limit on how many "blocks" you could have. On the 11th block attempt, it would roll you over to the option of purchasing another tier of membership. That wasn't working too well for them because it frustrated the customer and then just recreated a new free-to-us account. So, Grindr grew a new set and decided to set the block limit of 20 BUT, on block 21st block, unknowingly to the customer, the first person you blocked would become unblocked and allow you to block a new user. One block, out鈥?one block, in. You think you're getting unlimited blocks. Nope! You can pay the full $240/year membership and you'll still only have 20 slots to block. Check out the features of the Unlimited tier. You get "more blocks." Not unlimited blocks, but "more blocks" They do this to prevent their service from slowing down when it loads your grid. The service has to check each blocked profile you have and if it finds a match, then it will not load that blocked profile in your grid. If you had of a hundred blocked profiles, your grid wouldn't load as fast.
One day you get an email that your account has been removed. WTH! You try to open the app and your account is totally gone. Refund? HA! There's a better chance they'll be serving ice cream in hell. You send an email to the dark-matter mail server in the Gamma quadrant. A few weeks, months or maybe later, you get an automated email stating your account was reported and you really should consider their community rules and regulations. You just sunk $240 into the employee profit and sharing program, not to mention you just bought their Thanksgiving Turkey, a meat & cheese tray for a retirement party of the senior account-canceler, and paid for the 240 assorted cookie tray for their Christmas party. You request a refund. You hear nothing. You send fiery darts with African dart-frog poison at them via email and all you get in return is another automated email stating you failed to meet community guidelines.
My friends, Grindr is not your friend. It is a vicious and dark trap that you need to be weary of. Think of the hundreds of thousands of customers that just pay the $19.99/month fee. They're rich! If you continue using their free-to-use service, you don't pay Grindr but you help Grindr make almost as much because of the ant-ridden flood of advertisements popping up on your device. Think about it! Go buy yourself a leather pant-suit, 3-times too small and stand on the corner of your street! Better yet, a vibrator and it will be over cheaper and quicker!

Never response to the emails, don't care, then you can not delete your account and all your personal photos and information show in public while you're banned.

Evil costumer service. Evil company.

I made an unlimited subscription (60 dollars per month in my country). Grindr banned me without explanation when I had 1.5 months left. They didn't even bother to answer when I contacted them despite making me lost more than 60 dollars. They seem to have 0 respect for their customer, you should look on the Internet they have shady practices (HIV scandal)with using your data and don't seem to respect RGPD/GDPR. If you still use this app don't subscribe to anything + signal the app to google/Apple!

Plus honestly, WTF do I have to actually say yes to everyone to be sure not to be ban? Does Grindr promote rape or sexual aggression?

If the countless fake profiles and scammers don't frustrate you, Grindr will just ban you for no reason and keep your prepaid annual subscription. It's a criminal enterprise.

Grindr is the most ridiculous app out there.
It bans you for no legit reason other then someone not handling rejection very well. You reject someones advances & they report you for a bannable offence, that you're innocent of?

When will grindr wake the F up?

Grindr recently banned my account one month after purchasing a one-year subscription saying my profile had been reported for engaging in "spammy" activity which it defined as "attempts to solicit another user's personal information or prompting users to visit outside links," neither of which I have done. When I asked them to provide a specific instance of my doing what they alleged, they wouldn't respond, nor would they refund the cost of the 11 months remaining on my subscription.

This isn't merely a date or sex app. It is a RAPE and MURDER app. Look for related information on Netflix. If you're white and good looking, you must consent to being RAPED and MURDERED by anyone that isn't white and good looking, especially by those who are Asian or FAT.

Same as everyone: After five years with the same profile, they blocked with with no warning, saying (FALSELY) there was something hateful or racist about it. To my inquiries they sent two automated message, them cut me off from the help site. No warning, no explaination, no refund.
And they mention for me to turn off my automatic payments, which I think is a cover your ass thing for them so they can keep charging you if you happen to forget, even though you are shut out. I encourage everyone to SEND A COMPLAINT to the Better Business Bureau, who have already revived quite a lot (you can view on their site).

UNREASONABLE, DISGUSTING ILLEGAL ACTS!
Blocked my NEW PHONE for NO REASON! I did not even have time to upload my photo! What the H*LL IS GOING ON?
Talking with support, I've been asked TONS of questions about my iOS, my this and that, and then they wrote that "my answers do not comply with their standards" (what is that even?) and that they can block whoever they want for no reason.
What the h*ll is going on and how is that even legal? Are they promoting coronavirus by blocking people so that they meet whoever they can elsewhere without too much of consideration? Did they sell the app to someone anti-LGBT? What is even going on?

Worst and dangerous app. Full of cat fishing pervs, trans weirdos that are just nasty, uptight Queens and worse. The support if you can call it that consists of a few camp queens filling their nails and giving preferential treatment to pretty boys and very well ebdowed men.

My grindr account was banned for no reason and After asking multiple times Grindr is refused to give me a detailed reason as to what happened. I received no warning to edit my profile if I did violate anything and Grindr refuses to Lift the ban or pay back the money I paid upfront for my membership that is supposed to end dec 2020. Just a bunch of crooks ready to steal your money.

Grindr has the worst customer support

Grindr doesn't even care if people use stolen or other people's photos or catfish

my account got banned for no reason in September of last year for no reason at all contacted customer service and requested the ban to be lifted but they refused and said it "will not be lifted the ban will stand". with the way the company is going it won't be long before they lose enough customers & face enough legal challenges that that they will have to shut down

Someone please create a new and improved app to compete with this p.o.s. The same complaints as everyone else.. bots, WAY TOO MANY LENGTHY ADS, I've heard a horror story of a very intelligent guy being blackmailed and Grindr not helping in any way. AND, the pic issue. There is NO rhyme nor reason to their approving pics. Mine for example is me, seated in public, fully dressed, a shirt and conservative j crew shorts – deemed "to sexual" / inappropriate – wtf? Meanwhile, one member is wear a g-string the size of dental floss, with one leg up on a railing? another on all fours in a speedo, testicles hanging…. neither cute, neither hot. So, it is very strange to me. Different rules for different folks. That doesn't work for me.

ZERO stars. You鈥檒l be watching ads in EVERY 10 seconds. Even if someone is literally harassing you, Grindr won鈥檛 let
You block him UNLESS you鈥檙e a paid member or have enough locks if you鈥檙e a free member. I once had a guy BB me against my will and reported him to Grindr but they did NOTHING! DISGUSTING company!!

Grindr rips people off with their over priced memberships

Hornet 1 month $ 11.99 3 month $ 32 1 year $42

Grindr 1 month $ 24 3 months $ 50 1 year $ 129

Grindr unlimited that's the same as Grindr Xtra but with 7 more features but the price is a Joke
1 month $ 42 3 months $ 99 1 year $ 299

when Grindr bans you they refuse to refund you

you paid $ 299 then few days or weeks later Grindr bans you for no good reason you lost $ 299 and they refuse to refund you and you paid for a membership

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! WE SHOULD ALL COMPLAIN!
I have just been discriminated by Grindr support for NO reason. They just banned my profile RIGHT AFTER I created it – they say I "violated some guidelines", which I DIDN'T (in fact, I had even no time to fill out my profile OR even to talk to someone!), and they refused to lift the ban for no reason. The support member told me somebody reported me and does not even give me a reason – for what. I am 100% sure I did not even talk to anyone, NOR did I write anything unusual in my profile (again, I had no time to even finish it).

I live in Brussels and I am planning to go tomorrow to complain to the European Commission as they already had ethnicity discrimination issues, but this is now UTTER INSANITY! They are discriminating gay people AT RANDOM!
