Greensboro Academy hands-down is one of the best academic choices for elementary and middle schools in Greensboro North Carolina! They are back to basics education that continue to focus on academic rigor, moral focus and community by inviting parents to be involved in the day to day activities of the classroom . All three of my children have gone since Kindergarten with one now in High school, one in middle and one in elementary. Our new principal, Mr Doug Hower, has led the school to a higher degree of excellence with his leadership. I would not hesitate in recommending this school to anyone.

We've been very pleased with Greensboro Academy. Our daughter is in middle school and has attended since kindergarten. We've seen her grow and flourish academically and interpersonally. I love the focus on college/challenge ready encouraging kids to reach their fullest potential.

Great school. Great teachers who want to teach. More school time is spent instructing versus our local school where most time is used attempting to gain control of the classroom. We drive a long way but it's worth every trip.

Hands down, the best education my children could have received in our community is at Greensboro Academy!! Wouldn't have had my children attend any other school. Truly a God send to have been able to attend!

GA is a great public, charter school. For the most part, we have had wonderful teachers who enjoy helping students learn. The school staff are very receptive to feedback and really encourage parent involvement at school. The school environment is warm and welcoming!
The major drawbacks are a lack of diversity, large classes, and a lot of state testing.

My girls gave attended this charter school for a few years. We are extremely pleased with the high quality of education and the caliber of teachers and staff. This school is a vibrant community of parents and educators in partnership to enrich the lives of each child. We are blessed to be part of this school.

Though Greensboro Academy's acceptance rate is highly competitive with several hundreds of applicants (and only 84 total spots) for Kindergarten, our family was blessed with a favorable position on the wait list after the initial placements. Once we received the call that our daughter's spot was up on the wait list, we were overjoyed.
Now that she has been in school for 6 months, we still consider ourselves very blessed. I love the amount of communication that I receive from the principal, office staff, and my daughter's teacher. If I don't know what's going on in the school or in my daughter's class, I have only myself to blame.
Greensboro Academy's standards are very high, and they expect a great deal from the students in their trusted care. If you want your child to be exposed to other students and adults that help them strive for high moral and academic achievement, this is a great option for your child.

My two children attended Greensboro Academy and have found both the teachers and the Administration terrific, they get it. Mr. Hower, the Principal, is one of the finest, brightest and most capable people that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with on some difficult topics. He runs a fabulous ship and the children are the beneficiaries.
I learned how good the schools reputation is when my oldest daughter surveyed which high school to attend. When the local high schools learned where she went for grade school they immediately started talking about the AP and IB programs, skipping over the rest. My child was so well prepared for the next stage of her life the transition was easy for her, and that has carried through her 4 years in high school.

My son got into GA in kindergarten. We were zoned for some good elementary and middle schools, but our experience at GA has far surpassed what I believe he would have had available to him at another public school. Academically, the school is challenging, which is a good thing. The faculty and staff are incredible. Always kind, compassionate, caring and accommodating. The majority of parents are involved voluntarily, in some capacity, at the school and it shows. It shows in their children, in our school culture and in support of our teachers. Happy to be a part of such a great school. Just wish it went through high school…..

GA has been a great experience for our family. We have 2 children enrolled for nearly 3 years and have been pleased with the administrative staff as well as the curriculum structure – so much so that we have recommended the school to several families. The only regret is that the school is not structured to accommodate the high school years.

Great place for the kids to learn "the basics". Teachers and parents work to make this a place where all kids are involved…and yet still provide "move ahead" work for the kids that want to excel beyond the normal.
Positive feedback environment. Set expectations to make kids accountable for their own accomplishments, but still ensure that parents are a key part of the learning experience.
Thanks to the GA team!

Our family couldn't ask for a better school than Greensboro Academy! Besides the academic standards, the moral curriculum is the best! My daughter came home one afternoon discussing that we needed to "respectful" of each other, our home and family! This was the moral focus topic of the month…WOW!

Greensboro Academy provides students with the right combination structure, arts, technology, language and core coursework needed to build a foundation for their future.
There is a general sense of community with families committing to involvement and support of the leadership at GA!

We are only half way through our kindergarten year, but so far we love it! Our teacher is kind and responsive, and she does an excellent job of keeping a rowdy bunch of 5-year olds in line. Our child seems to enjoy learning and looks forward to going to school. Our teacher is quick to respond to emails and she encourages parents to come to her with any questions or concerns we may have. There are also plenty of volunteer activities for those looking to get more involved.
