GreenCycle isn't too far from my place and I finally took advantage of that a few weeks ago. The wife and I had just dug up a spot for a new garden bed, and that left us with a bunch of dirt and sod and whatnot with nowhere to put it. I'd heard about dumping that sort of stuff at GreenCycle, so I figured I'd try it out. I don't have a pickup, so I just loaded it on a tarp in the back of my little hatchback and headed their way. I called beforehand to confirm their hours and, when I asked about the price, they said it would probably only be about $10 for such a small quantity (so well worth the trip considering even a small dumpster would be a few hundred dollars to rent). When I arrived I checked in at the front office to see where I needed to dump my dirt. The kind lady working the desk took a look at the load in my car and told me to just go dump it, there was no need for her to charge me for such a small load. Wow! Seriously made my day right there. So I did my business and left.
But wait, there's more! Besides having areas to dump yard waste and other organic material, they offer a lot of other things like mulch, rocks, steppers and the like. Their mulch prices seem pretty competitive to what you'd get at a Lowe's or somewhere like that, plus they offer free delivery on orders of 10 yards or more. I haven't used these other services, but if I needed that much mulch I'd certainly go with these guys. And I'll definitely know where to dump my yard waste in the future. Thanks again, GreenCycle!
