I HATE THIS SERVICE.
There are always delays with this useless service which unfortunately I have to use to go to work. I've been late for work countless of times because of them and there is nothing that can be done. Aweful.

Just got e declined claim for a train that never departed from the station and was not announced on the dashboard. Avoid, delays are played to avoid fair delay repay claims!

I have had a strange issue with the great northern booking website. The dates on the ticket came out wrong, I am absolutely sure I select the right dates, I always double check and I had other person with me that check also before we buy. We arrived at the train station to go to Scotland for a wedding and for our surprise, the ticket didn't work. We had to buy other ticket and trying to manage to receive a refund for the error that was not ours, the customer service was terrible, keep pushing you from the phone to email and nobody solve or help in anything. I will never use this company again and don't recommend at all!!!

Absolutely shocking how it鈥檚 a spin of a coin wether the heating is on in cold conditions. Toes cold, can see my breath. This is not acceptable.

Complaints team on Twitter are useless. Even after explaining it鈥檚 not a defect on the train but a case of turning on the saloon door heating they still ask for the car number and say they will report it to maintenance!

It鈥檚 not a defect! It鈥檚 terrible management, terrible care to your paying customers.

All it takes is a flyer to go out to the drivers to make sure they set the heating on in cold conditions. Train managers should drum this into operational staff.

As a train operator myself, I speak from experience.

Get this sorted once and for all Great northern!

What a winning service and great train ride.plenty of seats.
clean toilets.happy efficient staff.the one drawback is scruffy smelly in washed rude nasty commuters always moaning and swearing.when they have world beating train service.But they are ignorant as they have never been on a train abroad t o realise how great it is.

So frustrating about their services almost delays and cancels every single day! The app is useless and so usually you get multiple time tables one on the app, one at station, one at platform, absolutely horrendous!! People who run the service needs to step down immediately!

Great Northern don't even deserve 1 star, their train services are that poor. rarely punctual, frequently cancelled without any prior notice. They also charge higher amount even to travel within London / Oyster zones. I don't know how this is not regulated. In nutshell, paying for the rubbish service. TfL is more reliable than this.

How fantastic they have implemented tap with your card to pay, no need to purchase tickets every day! Problem is it doesn't calculate a return fair and charges you two singles. So basically paying double. Absolutely disgusting

Northern rail billions of pounds Company is very slack, and courses too many constant disruption to people using your Trains. This is unacceptable to the people ;after your wrong doing you expect them to pay again to travel.

We never agreed to lend you money we wanted a service From you ;which you promise to meet for the payments you recieve. Customers are then given a Job without pay to claim your own money back because you have it now, in your banks and we have nothing ;but inconvience of waiting longer ,and waiting five days for your money back.

People are left stranded this is out of order or pay again what happen's, if the customer as no more funds if you even get that option with 310 trains cancelled daily; despite train fairs going up yearly ,and as neally doubled on some Journeys within the past 10 years.

A lot of people are struggling and there livelihoods depend on you. That's why there use your trains.

People on budgets and working class use affordable tickets and use of public transport are essential instead of having a car .You should correct your mistakes and stop letting people down; if you was a family,friend or a boss you would be labelled a waste of space. Would you bother with them again? THE ANSEW IS NO ! Your company seriously as issues it's not dealing with and frankly have no respect for the People. The Government should now get rid of your company because 1,000s of trains are cancelled weekly ,and all we hear his excuses all the time.

We dont want your excuses !!Just to get to A to B at the times you specify; without the unreliability. Buses manager it !!! Why can't Northern rail you owe it to the people?! I'm stranded tonight 50 miles away from home!

This company as now let me down loads of times, and sometimes having to pay again to get home; through no communication from them.

Note to the public: Claim compensation for missed train journeys, and if need be you should send a reasonable Hotel Bill or Long journey taxis fairs and you could even claim lose of earnings expenses back if stranded; if there don't pay take them to Court,and bill them for your time.

Northern rail: I think you will sort yourselfs out then. We as the public have the Power, not you!

I am absolutely shocked how cold it is inside the trian. The is no heating whatsoever. It is colder inside the train than outside. This is not the first time either. Many times I have boarded these trains and its freezing inside. Currently I have had to leave my coat, hat and gloves on in the train which is ridiculous. It's completely unacceptable to think it's ok to treat you customers like this. Do I need to bring a thermometer on the train (to send pictures) with me because I am almost certain that there needs to be a comfortable amount of heat for commuters to travel in?

Often trains are delayed by several minutes at destination and frequently by 15 minutes or more.

The route from Horsham to Peterborough joins South and North London but the length means any issue along the route causes significant disruption.

Services are all too frequently cancelled on this route and the number of weekend cancellations indicates a lack of drivers

New trains are clean but uncomfortable with overly upright seats, a distinct lack of leg room and poorly sited seat trays or no trays at all.

Services run about once every 30 minutes but this is relatively recent; historic failings with timetable implimentation caused many months of inadequate services

Staff I have found to be abnormally rude, uninformed and in times of disruption unwilling to assist. This is far below the expectation of a service provider.

Edit.
After writing I went to get a train to Peterborough…it was cancelled. The next one was 6 minutes late upon arrival.

Edit 2.
The next day I went to get a train with this company and it was over 15 minutes late. No staff anywhere.

Bought first class tickets for a more comfortable quieter journey. What a joke. No ticket inspectors so first class gets rammed by students, most of whom boast about not having tickets at all let alone first class. When I complained the Customer Service at Kings Lynn just said. Don鈥檛 buy first class then! What a joke of a company

New trains are out, but they are more unreliable than the old ones, so angry.

To add insult to injury you then get the ticker inspectors coming up and down, almost like a hit squad.

Used delay repay after service was suspended in the middle of the night.No staff at Elephant & Castle at 2am. I uploaded a photo of the ticket as requested but received an automated reply two weeks later saying there was no proof of my journey.

Daily cancellations apparently due to no train drivers – checked the Govia Thameslink Railway website for Great Northern job vacancies – one job only advertised "Competency Development Manager" ! Doesn't this suggest they have a full complement of drivers on their books? How come the drivers aren't turning up for work or are there not enough of them? We deserve a full and open explanation and a plan to resolve this daily nightmare. Govia Thameslink need to demonstrate real commitment to the customer service standards quoted on their website!

Since the timetable change my train never runs on time. I was not asked whether I would like the timetable to be changed and the 0718 train which used to get me into London at 0800 on time now is expected at 0814. The two later trains arrive within 3 minutes of each other but are always late. I now have to tube to get to work for 0830 whereas before I walked so not only has my fare gone up but now I have to pay extra to tube it to work. 15 minute delay repay gives around 拢4.50 back on my journey. It is beyond a joke and I can鈥檛 believe the cost is going up again next year for a totally unreliable service. If you can鈥檛 afford to pay for more drivers don鈥檛 pay such huge salaries and you will be able
to afford more staff. I commute 3 days a week but I am seriously thinking of giving up my job to stop having such horrendous journeys

Rubbish service! Every week trains are delayed or cancelled, absolutely ridiculous! Pay so much money every day to commute and having to deal with delays all the time! A lot of people are counting on your services and pay a lot for it! Why can鈥檛 you just just get it right???
