Grad Central Dresses & Grad Formals

You need to be certain that this is the dress you want! As with any formal dress, sizing depends on the designer and not all sizes are created equal. So you need to properly measure and size for the particular designer/manufacturer. They also clearly state that there are no returns — so I can appreciate that it "feels" risky. I actually called them to place the order so that I could secure the last dress in my size. They sent updates all the while and even expedited the shipment, while still being free. Tom was terrific. The dress fits perfectly and I couldn't be more pleased.

Buyer Beware.

As soon as the newly arrived gown was taken off the hanger, beads started popping off. I immediately contacted the store regarding quality issues. I was told I had no redress. There was also a major sizing issue despite a detailed conversation with a seasoned salesperson by phone prior to purchase. At that time I was assured there would be no significant alterations needed. The dress is now the hands of a seamstress and I am hoping for the best. The Better Business Bureau advised me I had contacted the store within the appropriate time frame regarding defective merchandise but Grad Central did not respond to this. Finally I asked for 10% off the $523.00 purchase price to help offset the cost of re-modelling the dress and of re-attaching and anchoring bead work. They flatly refused. I only hope alterations do not run into the hundreds of dollars. I am appalled by the gross lack of accountability shown to me and my daughter. If the dress cannot be made wearable, we have no other and her grad is in less than two weeks.
