My holiday cottage, which was booked through gracedarlingholidays who are part of a larger group with equally bad reviews, was cancelled due to the property being withdrawn by the owner. I was a bit suspicious when paying my remaining balance that the property could no longer be viewed on the web site. However, I paid the remaining balance; something which I now regret.
I have tried on numerous occasions to get a refund by both emailing and calling them and being left in a queue for ever and not getting through. I did call there priority number on 0800 0487197 and was answered almost immediately. However, when I asked for my refund rather than the voucher that is of no use to me whatsoever the line just went silent.
I am now about to pursue a refund via my Credit Card under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act as I can not afford to spend any more time in a fruitless chase.
