This company jacked up the price by $1000 on move day, took two days instead of one to pack. On the receiving end, they hired out the delivery to another company. Those guys showed up a week later than they supposed to. They claimed their truck broke and other nonsense. If that's true, then my stuff was sitting on a truck in the summer in Arizona. Some of it was ruined by the heat. They broke some of the lights on my property when wheeling the stuff into the house. Our large wool area rug worth about $2000 showed up with GREASE STAINS all over it. I mean, of all the things that could break on a move, how do you break a RUG? By NOT WRAPPING IT, that's how! Lots of other stuff BROKEN or MISSING. I filed a claim with the insurance they recommended. To my surprise, they DO NOT COVER MISSING ITEMS! I calculate about $5000 in damage and missing items. The moving company offered my $66! The insurance company is offering my about 1800, minus the deductible. I might be taking them to court.

Pickup was fine if you don't count that a few pieces they wrapped wound up damaged. I paid almost $10,000 with tips for this move. the delivery was sooooo poorly executed I couldn't believe it. I fought to get a partial refund on the delivery. They offered about $100. $100 dollars for upside down, mutilated boxes, fragile stuff on bottom, empty promises on delivery date, no partitions and proper restraining belts between deliveries, missing boxes, boxes with jumbled stuff that was not packed that way, my bible found on the floor of the truck….the special box it was in was never found, handfuls of my kid''s prizes Legos on the floor of truck, they couldn't put my dining room table back together without leaving out screws, my husband had to rescue a mover when Avalanche happened in truck…due to China cabinet piled on top of boxes. My belongings were treated like garbage. They made a stressful and sad moving experience one thousand times worse. This company used to have great reviews when I researched them. Something must have happened around June of 15. Lots of bad reviews going northeast to southeast.

At first they seemed so very nice and helpful but trust me everything that occurs outside of the phone call to get your business is a disaster. Rude, dishonest and money grubbing movers. They delivered multiple large furniture pieces broken/damaged and after they left we have come to realize that they did not deliver all our belongings. Trying to speak to someone on the phone about the problem or file a claim makes this experience even worse. And for this they added $800 to the move, asked for tips from an elderly person, threatened to not move belongings without cash in hand, and asked for more tips on the move in at the end. Oh and they also added $600 for needing to move the furniture down a condo hallway … Thief a and Total scumbags …. Stay far away … Don't make the mistake we did … Don't believe the nice talk from their sales people because they farm this out to moron movers

Unethical salespeople, amateur movers, and rude/indifferent customer service representatives. That sums up our experience with Grace Van Lines. I initilally spoke with my New York salesman more than once and asked him for an in-home price quote twice to ensure that I was not underestimating anything, but he refused and assured me that he had done 2-bedroom apartment moves from New York to Texas many times and that my phone-quote was accurate and that I would not face higher moving costs on the day of my move. On the day of my move, however, I was charged approximately double my phone quote. Had I known Grace Van Lines would charge me so much for my move, I would have never given them my business. Furthermore, upon inspecting the moving truck on moving day, I noticed that our boxes and furniture had several large gaps in between them, which surely contributed to the increased moving biil. The movers also packed several things that my wife told them not to pack, and did not bother to place any labels on the boxes whatsoever. They even came without adequate tools to dissemble our most basic furniture and asked to borrow my power drill! In addition, my Grace Van Lines salesman guaranteed that my belongings would arrive within 7-10 days of our move date, and my wife and I created an entire schedule around that timeline. On the 10th day I called customer service and found out that our belongings had not even left New York yet and customer service rudely told me they had up to 21 business days from first available delivery date (not even the move date!) to deliver my belongings and that I can expect my belongings 21 business days from that date. Neither my salesperson nor Grace Van Lines customer service denied that that 7-10 day time-guarantee was given to me when I was placing my deposit, but they outright refused to honor the agreement and offered me no recourse except to wait. This new schedule forced several unexpected expenses on me to purchase new clothes, books, and materials for my kids' schooling; new clothes for my new job; temporary furniture and bedding; etc. Not to mention the great strain and hardship it brought upon my entire family. Upon our finally receiving our belongings five days later than had originally been guaranteed, we found several of our belongings damaged. Our vacuum cleaner was broken; our wooden rocking chair was split in two pieces; our mattress was disfigured; and our box spring was crushed in two corners. The movers delivering our furniture did not even have a box cutter knife to remove the taped blankets from our belongings and asked to borrow a knife from our kitchen! Finally, the movers who delivered our furniture spent more than an hour trying to reassemble our baby crib and treadmill, but in the end told us that they can't because there were missing nuts and bolts from both. Unethical salespeople, rude and indifferent customer service department, and amateur movers. This is what you can expect from Grace Van Lines. The absolute worst moving experience of our lives.

Honesty is a virtue that is quite nonexistent in the world of moving companies. They will tell you anything and promise you everything to make you hire them. Once you do, their true colors come out. The same cannot be said about Grace van lines though. When I called them for a quote to move my stuffs from Boston, MA to Santa Fe, NM, they were very friendly to me. The man did not only give me a fantastic quote, he also explained me the principals their company runs on. It was quite impressive to find a company who still values morals and ethics. They were very honest to me throughout. The movers arrived on time and everything went very smoothly. They didn鈥檛 use any extra packing materials without taking consent from me. I was very shocked seeing their level of efficiency. The movers also praised Grace van lines as an employer. In the end, my stuffs reached Santa Fe without any issues. I have a lot of faith in this company.

If I could have given them 0 starts I would have.

The move was from a storage unit to an apartment 35 miles from the storage location. No packing or wrapping was needed. The truck they used was enormous for a studio apartment move to NYC.

These people charged me over 3 times the quoted price (I recently moved cross country and this move was only about 10% cheaper for a 35 mile move). They were over an hour late from their Latest expected time, and Never called to let me know they would be running late.

The foreman threw a HISSY FIT AND PUNCHED THE MOVING TRUCK when I wanted to pay with a credit card and my building's super said he had never dealt with anyone as obnoxious as this guy. He also broke a light bulb in the elevator of my building, and when asked by the building staff if he had broken it he first LIED and said he had not, and then started screaming at his two colleagues blaming them (they did not break it and were professional and hard workers).

I have moved over 8 times in the past 10 years and this was by far the WORST experience ever, and my experiences include having my container held for ransom off of the coast of Naples.

I also paid for the movers' time to and from my location. I expected to pay travel time between locations, as mentioned in my quote, but not for the time and tolls it takes for the crew to arrive and go home. When I inquired about how the 'updated' estimate was being calculated, as the foreman scribbled on a piece of paper, he snapped at me and told me everything was in the '26 page contract' which I did NOT receive. He also, multiple times, requested a RIDICULOUSLY high tip. I have NEVER experienced such a request, nor would I entertain paying such a tip, especially when the job was costing 300% more than I was quoted. I also did not have to have ANYTHING packed or wrapped as I was moving from a storage unit.

When I tried to call the office to complain that I had been quoted over three times LESS than the amount I was charged, I was hung up on twice, and then they did not answer.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY-THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL, CROOKS, AND MADE THE STRESS OF MOVING 100 TIMES WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having a bad experience with Grace Van Lines at this moment and waiting for them to solve the issue. Debra is the customer service person giving me a quote of $2750 from New York to San Francisco. But it turned out to be $3550. One of the reason was that she forgot to add my mattress onto the list. After the argument, the fee was discounted $150 off to $3400. But another thing happened, the moving team forgot to bring my bike. I have contacted Debra since 6/12 right after an hour after my moving, now it's 7/6 and she never answered if they are arranging for picking up my bike. Instead, she keeps asking my new address and avoiding the bike pickup conversation. I have to suspect they would ship my boxes directly to my new address ignoring my bike problem. I have emailed and called and left messages hundreds of times but still got no response about my bike pickup. I wish they could be more responsible for the mistake they made.

I am one who does not do alot of posting on social media but I know the stress you are feeling if you have gotten this far and reading reviews because I was there just days ago.
I am not being paid just my honest opinion Grace Van Line is my 4th moving company and I will never use anyone else but them.
They moved me from New York to Vegas and everything from the beginning to end as they stated.
If I could save you the worry pack it with Grace and let your worries go.

I used Grace Van Lines to move from Miami up to New York. They were recommend to me by a cousin who actually has his own moving company and does business with them. He was obviously my first choice but he didn't current have the ability to service this part of the country and said this is the only other mover they could vouch for. I wasn't left disappointed. I got picked up direct in an 18 wheeler. Said since they were heading back to there base they could offer me express delivery. I was staying in town for another week but everything was going back to my parents house so that was great . They arrived 3 days later. Everything the same condition as it left. You here a lot of horror storys about movers all the time. It's good to know that I have not one but two movers I can count on.
