This is potentially a splendid facility, but it seems terribly disorganised.
Staff often don鈥檛 have a clue about day to day operational matters, for instance their computer system regularly defeats their best efforts and we are asked to email at a later date. One can stand at that front desk for an eternity waiting for simple things to be taken care of.
No one seems to know about kayak hire – it WAS per session (regardless of duration), now it seems it is per hour – it is VERY expensive, and we cannot imagine anyone from a disadvantaged background being able to afford to do this at a price of around 拢48 for a 2 hr session, assuming you have your own clothing, helmet and bouyancy aid; Which is assuming alot. Cannot get clarity on this as no one appears to possess definitive knowledge. We鈥檝e had different answers from different staff members at different times. Chaos!
This is a legacy of the 2012 Olympic games, paid for with tax payers money. It is an absolute disgrace that it is so unaffordable.
Website is blandly uninformative and booking mechanism outdated and time-consuming.
Entire facility shut down for most of the Christmas holidays. The time when many children were free to kayak but couldn鈥檛. Same thing over half term. Very limited opening hours.
With a little clarity, and a tightening-up of staff training, plus some sort of scheme for those who鈥檇 like to kayak but can鈥檛 afford to, this facility could glide effortlessly into a 5 star review.

If you like stale food and uncontrollable Staff outings / corporate days then this is the place for you!

We have visited this site a few times over the years but just recently, the standards of Lee Valley White Water Centre have fallen tremendously.

On the last few visits for breakfast, We have been served stale food that even been left over from the previous day or not cooked probably .And being charged a high price for the privilege along with being made to sit on the cheap plastic seats. It seems the fancy seating shown on their website is mainly reserved for corporate events and unusable for the general public even at 10 o鈥檆lock in the morning when the site empty!

That brings me on to the late afternoon. Where I witness on more than one occasion this site being overrun with drunken corporate day鈥檚 staff acting very badly along with swearing and being very loud spoiling the enjoyment of others.

It seems no one in control over their behaviour and lewd remarks and questionable very bad behaviour of these events!

And for this case I would not recommended Lee Valley White Water Centre for a family day

Shame on Lee Valley Park To Allow This Site To Operate Like This
