GoToMyPC

I have had GoToMyPC for some time now, maybe over a decade. I logged in to the system on March 17th to cancel my subscription but could not find a way to activate a cancellation or even a phone number to call.

I removed the PC's from my account so remove the package and low and behold they continue to charge me for a subscription at $105 per month. They make it really difficult for you to cancel and ensure that you can not remove your card details from their account without adding another card that they will charge and when you eventually find a number to complain with they quote their terms and conditions (you have to phone up to cancel etc, etc…)

For me setting up your terms and conditions of business ensuring you make it extremely difficult for customers to cancel is unethical at best. Then I come to Trustpilot and guess what? I am not alone in complaining! Stay clear is my advice!

I have had a subscription with GoToMyPC for years. They changed their name to LogMeIn not too long ago. The subscription was $99 per year which allowed me, as a small business owner, to access my home network and files remotely when I was traveling. It wasn't a great service b/c it cut out a lot or wouldn't connect, but it was the only option out there that was reasonable. I have been a subscriber for so long that I must have subscribed under my original AOL email address which I have since abandoned many years ago. I have an auto response on that email which directs anyone who contacts me to my GMAIL address. I have never heard form them. Regardless, they (GoToMyPC / LogMeIn) changed their annual subscription price from $99 to $420 last year for the same cruddy service. I did not catch the increase last year as during the time of their renewal, I was in the midst of a personal tragedy and was just paying my credit card bills without reviewing the statements. Ironically, again this year, due to the pandemic and increased work pressures as a result of the chaos, I also was not able to review my last two credit card statements until now. I am currently doing my YE 2019 taxes when I saw this 2019 $420 charge. I fell off my seat. I haven't even logged on or used this service in over 2 years since my previous home network was changed. I immediately called customer service, knowing that there was probably nothing they could do about the 2019 charge and I had to just add it to the insults of 2019. But at the least I had to cancel this year. I spoke to a customer service rep named Jeff Bausch who told me that they already charged me and because I was calling outside of the 30 day cancellation window (for the whole year worth of service), they could not refund or even prorate me for THE ENTIRE YEAR WORTH OF SERVICE. He was happy to cancel my subscription right away but would NOT refund me 1 penny of the $420 which they JUST charged me for. He could see that I hadn't logged into or used their service for the last 6 months. So they have canceled my service but just gratuitously kept $420 because I didn't call them a few days earlier. Way to be understanding during a national crisis. Way to have a totally shady refund policy. I am disgusted. I think it is a scam. I hope they get sued. I want my money back for this year's service which just began and honestly, I think they should refund everyone they "auto-renewed" up from $99 to $420 without confirmation that the change in price was OK. What, do they get to auto-renew me to $10,000 next year just because they have my credit card on file and an agreement to pay $99 years ago?

If I could give a negative number of stars I would. Have been a subscriber since 2011. Their huge price increases in 2019 was a slug in the gut for a small business like ours, but we cut the number of computers accessing and stuck with them. Skip to the current economic challenged with COVID-19, the business decided to end the service – 4 months into the subscription. When we asked for a refund for the unused 8 months we were told there would be no refund. Thanks, gotomypc, for nothing.

Apparently the bean counters now control this company. Customer service used to be great and the pricing was reasonable. That all changed a couple of years ago after tripling their pricing and decreasing service. TERRIBLE. AVOID.

Extreme price increase several 100%
Is that thanks for been customer for 10 years?
They claim they have 24/7 support but have not replayed to my 4mails over 3weeks yet.
So had a lot of chanses to explain and even replay at all.
Criminal behavior.
Thought this was a serious company.

Been using GoToMyPC for years and been very happy. Just received my renewal bill including a hefty 700% price increase. They did tell me that a renewal offer had been sent 2-3 months before the due date, but I can't recall receiving such an notification. I was offered a review of my price plan AFTER I threatened to cancel – if they were that keen to keep customers, they would offer their best price at the beginning. Very poor company – needless to say, I wont be renewing!

Such a shame the cool and formally trustworthy GoToMyPC has been taken over by pirates. Because of our loyalty over years, they (logmein) *only* doubled our prices – without telling us beforehand. They also helped themselves to an extra 拢1000 via direct debit. Maria on Billing comforted me by explaining they'd treated other companies even worse on the price hikes!
Since they took over, I no longer get any emails gotomypc send – not even the reset password link.
They get two stars because Maria was very patient and took the time to help all she could and she knows about 15% of the international phonetic alphabet. She also helped me navigate the refund link and was decent enough to provide us with an extra couple of months free. That's extra time for me to look at alternatives. Thanks Maria, no thanks logmein

be aware do not setup any direct debit account with gotomypc as in they term of service they will be able to taking out what ever amount they want.
for the start we has been paying 拢14.38 for the first 1 year and for the last 5 months they managed to take out direct debit of 拢94.40 we contacted to get the refund but has been told by gotomypc that they can just charge whatever they want and nothing we can do about it .

Thanks, guys, keep up the good work! GoToMyPC was the best investment I ever made. I wish I would have thought of it first.

Since it is remote access that probably has triggered a number of false security positives.

Also, it may be a good service- which I believe used to be totally free. I prefer to use dedicated programs for remote assistance instead.

The product is good, even if overpriced..;. BUT >>>>>>>
This kind of fraud goes back years for GoToMyPC.
Here it is, 2012, and this just happened to me. I signed up for the 30 day trial, then cancelled it after 2 weeks. I got a confirming e-mail that my auto-renew was turned off. THEN, I got an e-mail that said that they were unilaterally extending my trial for 30 more days. Ok… nothing for me to do there. THEN, I got an e-mail, a week before that extension ended, that said my auto-renew would continue unless I turned it off – again. THAT is fraud. I wrote and said, "Go ahead; charge my card and I'll sue." They cancelled they auto-renew, and did it in such as way as to say that *I* had cancelled it – again. I am going to write a piece for OpEdNews.com about this. Please e-mail me if anyone has had a similar experience. frankuniversity at yahoo dot com.

I'm surprised that GoToMyPC.com has not already been rated. In any event, two big THUMBS UP! This website offers a secure way to access a computer from a remote computer. For example, you're on vacation and you forgot your flight information. No problem: Go to the hotel computer, log into your GoToMyPC account and then access your home computer to print out your flight information e-mail. Just think of the other possiblities 😉 They offer a 30 day trial period so check it out.

Citrix has been a good company for as long as I've used their products.
