Must be a scam. Why are these people allowed to keep trading? Pretended to show interest to resolve problem but have stopped replying.

Card wont activate, a message pops up saying contact customer service. No contact information anywhere on their site.

The card has 拢47 on it and I can't use it, cause they said my card has expired already. Even if it was bought 8 months ago. Never buy these gift cards!!!

As the previous reviewers pointed out, if you don't spend it immediately, they charge 拢1.50 monthly "service fee" after a certain period probably. But then it's not a _gift card_. It's not what you expect from a gift card, it's certainly not what the person who had given it to me expected!

You buy a card as a gift and get charged 拢4.
If the person unlucky enough to receive the card does not use it within 12 months a fee of 拢1.50 per month is removed from the card.
So they are charging you interest on YOUR money that they have in their bank account.
Absolute CON.
Never buy one of these cards

like all the other reviews on here i didnt use my card immediately and have lost 拢22 from a 拢25 card in monthly fees – this is absolutely disgusting and something needs to be done about this – avoid at all costs

Absolutely dreadful! I cannot recommend these cards and would certainly never purchase one as a gift. I had the misfortune to receive a 拢25 gift card in 2018, the expiry date on the card is 8/21. Like the other reviewers here, I did not use the card immediately. When I did try to use it in M&S and also M&Co it was declined. Little did I know that after one year Gospendit deduct a 拢1.50 service charge per month off the card. This I only discovered after registering it, (they do mention this in the small print). I now have 拢7.00 on my card, the other 拢18 has been deducted in charges! So, if you do still think that buying one of these gift card is a good idea, make your recipient fully aware that the card must be registered, that there are charges deducted if the card is not spent in full within one year.

Do not recommend received as a gift didn鈥檛 spend all of it and did not attempt to use it again for some time. Went to check balance….0 all had been eaten up by 鈥渇ees鈥?!!!

How do you justify a maintenance charge on a prepaid card. Yes it's in the small print that they take it but it's easy to be misled by the expiry date on the front and then discover that because you havent used it yet the balance has been eaten up. Ridiculous way to do things. Avoid avoid avoid!!!

Absolutely HORRIFIC! Where are the consumer association helping with this kind of scam! – This is worse than PPI!!!!

What a scam – My parents got 拢75 in Visa Gift Cards as a Christmas present and have been unable to spend them. I've tried numerous places and always been declined so tried to register the cards online, which isn't the easiest, had to drop the 0 off the beginning on phone number. After reading on here I've finally managed to spend on ebay.

Had these cards given to us as a wedding gift. Tried numerous places to spend them with them always being rejected. However I messaged Currys on Facebook asking if they accepted them, the answer was yes but only in store. I鈥檝e just popped in and used them no problem! Result!! They need to manually enter the amount that you want to spend though. So make sure you know how much is on them

Terrible. I had 拢100 worth which I haven't been able to spend anywhere. I phoned the number which I did not realise was a premium number until I read these reviews and the man on the phone just said well the cards are all registered and working fine so just try again! No where accepts them so very hard to try at all!! Very frustrating and a shame for those who gave me them as a gift!

so im not the only one i only got mine like 3 weeks ago and its worth 25.00 and very time i try to reg it i keeps saying technical error

We had a gift card given to us in good faith for my son's birthday in April 2016. I knew the expiry date was 04/21 , so didn鈥檛 rush to use it. I've tried a few shops and online, but all payments were claimed. Without knowing 拢1.50 have been deducted every month which left us with a zero balance.

Awful experience: same as most other people. Couldn't register or use the cards when they were given to me by my sister and gave up trying to use them because of the poor customer service. Found them again the other day and couldn't get them to be recognised on the website so contacted customer service who were again no help at all, so that's another 拢100 gone into these scammers' pockets. Tell others to avoid this company: spread the word. Definitely contact the FCA if you can: they need to be stopped.

Can't use the total value of the cards I have. Customer service came out with a ridiculous story about a tolerance band for transactions. I would never recommend them.

Looks like I鈥檓 not the only one to be scammed…….. had a gift card given to me in good faith for my birthday 2016. Tried a couple of places to use it – without success and put it in my purse to try again. I knew the expiry date was 08/21 , so didn鈥檛 rush to use it. Remembered about my gift card the other day when I was buying a pair of shoes and tried to use the card……… However, same thing happened- would not go through the tills. I decided to sort this out once and for all , so rung them. They have only been deducting 拢1.50 every month after the first year…..!!!! Total and utter scam……!!! I urge anyone with one of these cards to find somewhere to use it within the first year …..however difficult it is!!! Should be shut down by now judging from all these messages!!!!

A system designed to make them money.
1. You cant redeem the card anywhere
2. All their customer service numbers used premium lines
3. Whilst you cant use the card they deduct 拢3 per year from the balance
4. Lodging a call with the Financial Ombudsman achieves nothing as I suspect its too small an amount to investigate
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
1. Tell whoever gave it to you its a scam and return it to them in the hope they send you a card/reward with a reputable company like Marks & Spencer.
2. Lodge a call with the Financial Ombudsman anyway to add to their collection. tel 0800 023 4567

My wife and I received 3 of these 拢50 gift cards from our guests as a wedding present back in September. We went to use them this week and they are not accepted anywhere, nor can they be redeemed online. We've tried multiple outlets for them to be declined every single time. I feel very bad for the people that bought us them. I have no desire to try and deal with their horrendously reviewed customer services to try and rectify this. I genuinely can't believe this company hasn't been shut down yet.

Husband received 拢50 Retirement present – worthless now. The card says expires 2021 so registered the card . Went to use after approx. 2 years , still before 2021 and after the card being rejected many and I mean many times the balance is now 拢27.50 as they have taken 拢1.50 every month after 12 months !! I couldn't believe it. I want to spend the remaining balance before they take the rest off in charges but everywhere I try they are rejected. BEWARE DONT USE RIB OFF. Would rate zero if I could

We went shopping to ASDA to use our Visa go spend card. ASDA declined the payment and we came home and viewed the posts below. In total disbelief and the feeling of being conned. We telephoned the gospendit help line and they confirmed we had the funds on the card. I then telephoned ASDA customer services and they advised me that their tills do not support this type of card, but they are looking into it. I then telephoned Sainsbury鈥檚 customer service team and they confirmed they supported this card. With little optimism we chose our goods and went to the checkout! Without any fuss, the checkout operator processed the card as a normal debit/credit card and it WORKED!

Our morning鈥檚 experience proved that not all vendors accept the prepayment cards… but if they do, it works perfectly. My advice is… check with the vendor before going to the till or if you do have any balance on your card get yourself down to Sainsbury鈥檚 or Argos!

These prepaid Visa gift cards are almost impossible to use. Everywhere l have tried they have been refused. 拢100 in total wasted!!

Can鈥檛 even activate the card on the website so it鈥檚 completely useless. Not going to bother phoning up looking at all these other reviews! Feel bad for the people who purchased it for me as a gift.
