I bought a Gorenje MMO-20DFII microwave oven in Technomarket, Varna, Bulgaria.
The light in the oven cavity never worked.
At first, I thought that there was no light by design. There were some holes in the side wall, but no removable plate. Then I realised it was an LED flat panel.
I took it back and was shocked to find that it would take four weeks to replace the light.
My wife complains bitterly about being left without a microwave.
The problem is, the unit has to be dismantled to fix the light. There is no access from inside the oven.
I hope others can learn from my experience.

Purchased a NRK6192MCUK fridge freezer just over two years ago (about 拢600). Unit was noisy and was told this was normal!? Fridge failed just before warranty expired, after two weeks without a fridge/freezer it was repaired and failed once more within one month with the same fault. Now they are asking to charge 拢155 to fix! Worthless complaining to the company, they don't listen or help and the customer service line is expensive, especially when you are put on hold for over 30 minutes each time you call.

Avoid this brand and products.

New update, Gorenje finally gave in and supplied a replacement Fridge/Freezer but with no warranty.

Its been fine since.

I have a 14 month old Gorenje combination oven and the microwave ceased to function. Waited two weeks for engineer and replacement Magnetron. It鈥檚 just been fitted and has 鈥渂lown鈥? now requires a replacement Transformer. Engineer has taken the oven away, could be another four weeks. After few days was given loan of a combi microwave. Was later told I鈥檓 getting a replacement combination oven. That鈥檚 exactly what I wanted to hear. Four days later told Transformer on its way and will be fitted to my faulty oven and now won鈥檛 be getting a replacement. Problem now into it鈥檚 9th week and I鈥檓 stiil without my oven. Gorenje never again. ?

Would have given zero stars but not an option.
I chose a Gorenje oven as I believed the online description that I was buying a quality product from a reputable company. From web site I was under impression that my expensive oven also came with a 5 year guarantee . When it stopped working after 2 years and 2 months , I found out to my costs that my model only had a 2 year guarantee . No matter I thought any reputable company would want to assist . No so with Gorenje, I was told a) it wasn't that unusual for a product to go wrong so quickly (!!) and b) I would have to buy replacement part.
Said I wasn't happy with this response and wanted to speak to someone in compliants department . Gorenje don't have a complaints department in UK , was put through to someone in sales , who was rude and arrogant , customer service was obviously an unknown concept to him . Asked to speak to MD, told he doesn't take calls from Customers , the people who keep him in business . Wrote email expaning my concerns to MD and copies in Gorenje Press Office, no response , sent 2nd email , no response.
Moral of this story- Gorenje have no respect for their Customers and I would suggest avoid at all costs.
Have since bought new cooker from Rangemaster , a completely different experience .

My oven works sometimes and not other. I have used an oven thermometer to check the temperature, and it shows well below what it should be. This could cause food poisening issues. The thermostat does not work properly, and I can touch the shelves without oven gloves, even though the oven is supposed to be at 200 degrees centigrade plus.
Very, very annoyed about having to buy a new oven now, so soon after I bought this one.

Dishwasher baskets rusted through after three years use. Top basket runners continually fall off, the company doesn't want to know – just told me they are not covered and I should buy some more – don't think I'll spend any more on this sub- standard product. Avoid this manufacturer at all costs !

My mum is an old lady and I wanted to surprise her by buying her an Iron with steam generator SGT2400 W Gorenje. I have one on my own but Tefal and am extremely happy… I bought this iron wanting to reduce the time of ironing and make it easier for her as she is a women with back pains and cannot stand long time on her feet. The board of the steam generator started pealing and losing the ultra glide texture after only 3 weeks of usage. I have paid big money for this iron and believe that this shouldn't happen at all…the scum started coming out no matter the bottled water has been used. So, we contacted the Gorenje repair service and was assured that this doesn't affect the ironing and its considered as an aesthetic change which is not covered with a warranty. REALLY, is this something that you tell to all of your consumers??? I have asked the repairer to look into it twice and store where the product has been bought originally to review their decision, however no luck. Also, according to the customer service law in Serbia the product can be exchanged or replaced with any other product if consumer is not happy with it…Since I dont live anymore in Serbia, and my mum still has that iron that is not really helping her, on contrary causing her grieve, and she doesnt want to deal with inspection and sue the store…I am hoping someone will get in contact with us and try to fix this issue asap. I live overseas and hope that someone will be so kind to tell me what need to be done next??!! Annoying customer..Thanks

Ordered 4 appliances for new kitchen – multiple problems with each. Several units delivered damaged, European wiring meaning could not be safely connected, error codes from first use – the list goes on. Severe ongoing product quality issues. 6 replacement units sent within first two months. Contacted manufacturer to discuss and were told these issues were to be expected – no support. Worst brand experience in terms of product quality and customer service. Can only advise to avoid at all costs.

Been trying to get my washing machine (top model they do) fixed for over 2 months, they keep fobbing me off with either the person dealing with it is on annual leave, off sick or they'll get back to me by end of the day, the main issue developed after 2 years of use and whilst looking into this I realised that another feature that it should have (storing favourite settiings when switched off) has never worked since new and we have always left the wall switch on as we though it had to be like that. Still getting nowhere with this company and getting really frustrated.
I wouldn't buy another Gorenje product and certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Don't buy any Gorenje products because their customer service is shocking. I have been lied to by Gorenje & treated appallingly by them. As another reviewer said – they patronise their customers. My oven is not working properly, it is burning the food & the kitchen cabinets. Their warranty is useless & their Customer Service is a joke – but I'm not laughing!! STAY WELL CLEAR OF GORENJE PRODUCTS. My oven supposedly has a 5 year guarantee (which is worthless) so when I found out the oven was faulty, I called to get a repair. After eventually getting 2 visits from (sub-contracted) engineers, (I had to fight for these visits as Gorenje tried to tell me my warranty was void), I was told the thermostat was faulty & the oven was recording 50 degrees above the reading so it was burning the food & the kitchen cabinets. Even though the oven was proved to be faulty & the thermostat was changed, Gorenje refused the blame, they said it's all my fault will not take any responsibility.

Our Gorenje oven started playing up almost immediately after it was installed. Just a minor problem, the clock wouldn't keep time.
Then the interior light stopped working. I don鈥檛 know if it was the bulb or something else. I didn鈥檛 bother trying to replace the bulb because the replacements cost so much.
Then the rotisserie stopped working.
The pyrolyse function stopped working.
Then one day the door locked itself and wouldn鈥檛 open. At this point I contacted Gorenge customer services and discovered that the 2 year warrantee had just run out and they weren鈥檛 going to help. It cost 鈧?00 to get someone to come and unlock it.
Then the thermostat stopped working. You could set the oven to 180掳 and come back 5 minutes later to find it at 220掳 or 120掳. I don鈥檛 know if it was the actual temperature or just the display.
Then the door hinges started sticking and not closing properly meaning that something had to be leant against it to keep it closed properly.
Yesterday the glue that was holding the front glass to the door came away making it impossible to close the door.
Now I鈥檓 shopping for a new oven.
It鈥檚 incredible to have so many different problems over a period of just under 5 years. Absolute rubbish.

I bought one of their high end Blenders B600B it was eighty Euro looked well build with a glass container. It broke the first time I used it. I took it to service they were not particularly friendly, fixed it without apology kind of like it was normal. The blender had two containers and the grinder container broke the third time I used it so I took it back to service and they told me they do not carry the part. The blender then worked for about four months then stopped working and I took it back to service and they told me the thread was stripped on the drive and they did not have anything to fit it. I gave up and took a hammer to it.

My food processor broke so like an idiot I saw this Gorenje all in one 1100 watt food processor, Juicer and blender, 160 euro. Brought it home unpacked it and tried the juicer. They threaded the lock on the container backwards so every time you turned the machine on it would turn itself off, It is like no one ever tested one of these machines. It was all plastic and looked like if you drop any part it would break. I took it back and got my money back and fixed my old food processor.

At one time Gorenje was considered to be as good as the German companies but at a much lower cost now they are just like Chinese companies. Expect the machines to break the first time you use them, better yet so not buy Chinese do not buy Gorenje. Old machines are best. Ironically I bought an ancient Japanese SunTech plastic light weight blender, all plastic and the machine is brilliant should work for ever, one speed. Even more ironic is the both the Groenje blender container and the mill container fit on this machine!

Very bad experience with this company when my oven and combination oven failed to heat to correct temperature. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend to anyone to buy Gorenje.

I bought a Gorenje fridge/freezer in January as a replacement for my lovely Smeg which had stopped working after 10 years. It has turned out to be a very bad purchase. The inside is very badly designed; the peculiar shaped bottle holder doesn't hold nearly as much as it should and in addition the curved shape means it encroaches into the shelf – and if something is in the way, the door doesn't close properly. I quickly realised that the thermostat was stuck and the temperature was too cold, and also the freezer compartment was icing up at the top. An engineer (from a sub-contractor company locally) replaced the thermostat and the freezer door seal but nothing has changed! Fridge still too cold and freezer completely frosted up…. When I voiced my feelings about said appliance, he told me that my complaint was echoed by very many others. I wonder who has written the glowing reviews upon which I based my decision to purchase it?

We have had constant problems with our Gorenje appliances which are only few months old. No fridge for a month during the summer, faulty induction hob, now no main oven for over a month due to the time it takes to get one spare part. Unhelpful, patronising Customer Services that promise but don't deliver! We will NEVER buy or recommend Gorenje products to anyone! Wish we'd never listened to the kitchen salesman when he said they were 'good'. Mmm… 'good' for nothing would have been more accurate. All we can say is that we love Bosch, LG and Samsung more than ever. Given our Gorenje nightmare we have bought a Bosch washing machine and a tumble drier and feel confident that we have reliable, solid appliances that will last. Our advice is… go for quality, trusted brands every time! In our opinion, it's a false economy to buy from companies like Gorenje.

Slovenian company for appliances. I had experience mostly with washing machines and stoves though they do make over all good quality appliances. On the downside they do tend to be pricey.
