We felt rushed into a decision to take a flat, like all estate agents they lied and told us many people were interested, it's a great location to ensure we filled out our details and transferred our deposit.
When we moved in a month later, we had several issues with getting an internet supply to the property as well as registering bills under our names. As the property shared a letter box with the flat above, Royal Mail had it registered as 1 address (illegal) so we informed Gordons to ask the landlord to notify the council and royal mail that it was in fact 2 separate flats. This was never done.
After a call to the electricity supplier, it turned out we had signed up to take full responsibility for bills for the whole property (both flats) so we ended up paying for our neighbours. Great.
We then called the water supplier, which couldn't be transferred into our names as there were previous debts on the account. Informed Gordons of this – no response.
Throughout our tenancy Gordon's blocked our calls, failed to answer basic queries and hardly ever responded to emails. Once they have your deposit communication ceases to exist.
