Bought a couch today that I was eying already for a year. I could chose from so many different colours and materials… We got help from a young and super friendly lady, who advised us very well and explained all we needed to know, also about the additional guarantee service available. Big thanks to the store staff but especially the young lady who sold us the couch today (I鈥檓 sorry, I do not remember a name, only that she was wearing a black glitter face mask)!

Long story short; Asked pictures for color. At delivery, product color in the pictures did not match the product at arrival. Returned on the spot and asked for refund of deposit. 3 months after purchase Goossens deducts 79 EUR from the down payment for delivery, still no refund.

Details:
We've been searching for a sideboard for a while and given the pandemic all the search has been online. Finally one item on sale caught our attention, but we weren't sure about the color. Called the store and asked for additional pictures. We've been told if we order, we can still return it if we don't like it.

With that confirmation, we put the order on 30 July after putting ~%20 down payment and the rest to be paid at delivery on 11 September ( 6 weeks for delivery).

Order delivered on 11 September, but the color did not match what was on the pictures sent. After consulting the delivery person, we asked for it to be returned on the spot.

Reached out to customer support, told about the return and asked about the refund of the down payment. I've been told it will be automatically sent.

Roll to 9 October, Finance sends email for IBAN, I respond but their email bounce (?). I sent it to customer support to forward to Finance. 27 October, Finance responds that they are refunding the deposit after deducting 79 Euros for delivery.

Timeline:
July 30 – Ordered with pictures from the store.
September 11 – Order delivered, didn't match pictures. Returned on the spot.
October 9 – Finance reached out to ask IBAN. IBAN sent.
October 27- Finance said they will deduct the delivery cost 79 EUR and initiate refund.

Never again. We ordered beautiful products to the value of over 5000 euro. It was a wedding gift from my father-in-law. Every single item delivered was missing a part…the bar chairs didn't have screws, the sleeper couch arrived in a different colour, the bedroom cupboards didn't have doors and were missing lights (one was also missing the drawers we ordered). My husband who is Dutch recommended Goossens but now we have seen that they are worse than ikea…it's more than a week since the delivery of these incomplete products and we are still waiting for the shop to get back to us. I call Goossens Leiderdorp every single day and they still cannot give me an answer…

I am writing another review as it seems when you do get in touch with the customer service as they said I must from the last review I wrote they dont do anything!

We have been chasing and chasing you down for our refund on the broken closet you strategically left behind to charge us 79euros to pick up.

It's funny how we have to pay upfront and wait over 6 weeks and you can literally pick up the damaged item within a week and charge us for it and now we are waiting for almost a month for our refund that we have to keep asking you for and you come up with all sorts of bad excuses.

Oh yes we didnt refund you we will get hold of the accounts department. Oh your account number has a missing number um all you need to do is click a button and reverse the amount to the same account we paid from.

No apologies. No nothing. I want our money back NOW. I am tired of this company.

Seriously, everyone avoid!

When the delivery men arrived 1 hour outside the allocated delivery time slot with my couch they found out the legs of the couch were not included in the package.

I now have an incomplete couch filling up my living room while I wait for the legs to be delivered by PostNL. Next, I can start trying to assemble this heavy couch by myself, since I live alone.

While delivering, my door frame and wall got damaged by the delivery men.

Customer service have been saying the missing legs is due to a human error and will not show any willingness to help out with this problem. Human error or not, you would expect some level of service for the price you pay for this furniture.

I won't be buying from Goossens again.

waiting time was long but known when ordering (hence, nothing to complain about) but it is ridiculous to read that due to ecological reasons the route is optimized for delivering and thereof there is no flexibility in regards to when the couch will be brought… I called the service and there was no possibility to influence the delivery hours beforehand. the reality is: you can do with the customer what you want. Be honest with the arguments and also state upfront that a rescheduling can even cost more than 50 Euro if you are not available on short notice for the timeslot you decide upon. luckily it matched at the end with my availability but you should at least offer to decide if you want a delivery in the morning or afternoon. hence, minus 1star for blocking one full calendar day for the delivery.

We have bought 2 chairs from Goossens and unfortunately there were transport damages on one of them and the assembly bolts did not match on the second one. After providing a few photos of the issues, a very friendly Customer Service representative from Goossens has made contact with us, arranging a visit for a technician to install correctly the chairs and replace the damaged one.
Very satisfied with both the quality of the products but also the excellent support we received when notifying of an issue. This only shows that a respectable company shows its true colours when issues come to light , and Goossens is one of the good ones.

5/5 Highly recommended.!

I am always hesitant when I read bad reviews, thinking that people might exaggerate. In my case I have the impression that I read my situation in several of the previous reviews:

First of all, they are excellent in Sales. Very well done. The drama starts at delivery.

One sliding door damaged, one incorrect. They took the doors back, requested me to pay 95% of the total, saying it would be fixed quickly. Now I have to wait almost two months again, they say that the manufacturer does not have time. Their customer service is simply useless, they apparently do not have any quality procedures/deadlines with their manufacturers in case something goes wrong.

The planks we have ordered have all slightly different sizes. I dont really care once we have those doors but still at that price it is unacceptable, offered a 30 Euro discount in total.

During the full three hours, they just blocked the street with the truck, unhappy neighbours guaranteed.

Finally, they do not respect the RIVM guidelines. One of the guys who spent 3 hours in our house had a running nose and eye infection. Normally not an issue buy not what I want to have at home during these times.

Never, never, never again.

Update following response Goossens(4/8): information provided although I had already many phone and email exchanges with their sales team
