The only purpose of this site is to track your web traffic. Not necessarily harmful, but sort of a privacy breach. It sends a lot of your information to Google. Is this okay? Many sites use it, but I don't highly approve of the practice of online tracking.

https://www.google.com/transparencyreport/safebrowsing/diagnostic/index.html#url=google-analytics.com
Why does Google's own "Safe Browsing Site Status" for google-analytics.com indicate that it is "Not dangerous" yet it adds:
***** Some pages on this website install malware on visitors' computers.
***** Some pages on this website redirect visitors to dangerous websites that install malware on visitors' computers, including: bakman.net.
***** Dangerous websites have been sending visitors to this website, including: mtn.co.kr, marketcucine.gr, and steamcommunity.com/id/drimmi.
Does anyone know why there is this contradiction on this site (as well as many others)?

Google-analytics.com is a web tracking site used by Google to help websites understand traffic patterns. If you don't like being tracked then you want to consider blocking this site – understand that might impact your ability to use sites you like. If you are responsible to measuring your web traffic you most likely use this site. While not out-right bad, I don't trust how the data collected will be used so I give them a marginal trust rating.

Another script server site. I found this on a client's site.
A script server site is not suitable for children.
Note: I noticed a discrepancy in the label and the rating question.
The discrepancy is that safety and suitability are two completely different and unrelated topics. A child can be safe in an inappropriate place.
LABEL: Child safety
QUESTION: How suitable is the website for children?

part of the Google search solution and yes it does track you, unless you use FireFox with no script etc.

Scripts from this site track your browsing habits so Google can provide relevant advertising. What else is done with this information is anybody's guess.

Useful for webmasters trying to determine which browsers to support, site demographics, among other things in order to improve their website/service.
Yes, it does track ['anonymously'], but Google has not gone evil yet. ("Don't be evil" is their unofficial motto.)
If you do not wish to be tracked in order to be served more targeted and relevant ads, simply install a browser add-on/extension such as AdBlock (with EasyPrivacy+EasyList), Ghostery, NoScript, or ScriptNo.
Personally, I am paranoid enough to not be tracked at all, so I keep Google from tracking me in this way (although, I use some of Chrome's features which do 'track' me, but I am not going to sacrifice convenience for just "damn you, give me my privacy!").
Disabling these scripts (Google Analytics or some other tracker) is no guarantee that your web browsing will not be tracked however, so remain cautious. You can obtain better privacy by simply using a VPN, although most cost money for good service.

This sort of thing is what allows us (you & me) to have access to *free* web sites. Yes, it does some tracking, but it is benign in nature. It is "advertisement tracking." Nothing evil. No malware.

These cookies are EVERYWHERE! At least, any website associated with Google. They are relatively harmless, but once you know about it, you just can't help feeling queasy. I do trust Google a lot more than my doctors, so that should say a lot.
