gcp.cz – Golf Club Prague (Praha Golf Club). Website / web page in Czech – translator does ok with it, usable.
When translated "playground" = "course" or "the course".
.-.
It is a very Czech course, good behaviour is expected, and if you are a visitor, only if you can play at least a bit of golf, and know the basic rules; otherwise you might find you get asked to leave the course (this is normal for most golf).
Other than golf, it has a smallish but nice restaurant etc. You can rent the entire function room area, perhaps a secret tip if you want to have a gathering of friends or family in Prague…
.-.
The lower part of my review relates to playing this short but very hilly golf course in July.1991… The prices are more modern these days in 2018, certainly, but still very reasonable for near city centre Prague.
.-.
It was a great course back in 1991, although slightly raw. The views of the city were fantastic. Very modern now.
I'm sure it is worth trying to get a golf round on this amazing course just for the views etc, plus the challenging hilly nature of it.
.-.
Many golf shots blind or partly blind due to the hill nature of the course. Big-hitting does not help. Leave the driver 1W at home.
.-.
… July 1991 – When inter-railing around Europe, we stayed in fantastic Prague.
After a heavy night out, we were a bit dozy & got on the wrong the tram early in the morning & unplanned we found ourselves next to this golf course – Golf Club Praha, at around 07.00 am.
.-.
There was a greenkeeper / club owner / or member there he was a bit surprised to see two tired looking young west europeans early in the morning … he had some strong coffee available & he also gave us a couple of cookies / biscuits before the strenuous walking …
.-.
In 1991, they charged us about 50 Cz Koruna, plus CzK 10 for the rental of a bag clubs, and CzK 10 for a bag of 20 good known brand balls (used).
All-in-all CzK 70 … about GBP 1.60 / US$ 2.50 / german DM 4.
.. Some of the balls had a Prague or a golf club logo on them. I gave the rest of the balls to a taxi driver
… A pint/half liter of beer in Prague bars was appx CzK 7 to 10 (less than 20p GB) at the time… at least 5 times less than in Germany or in GB at the time (1991).
