Wife and I attempted to buy a puppy, they charged us the deposit fee (400) through cash app before we realized they scammed others, tried to get refund and they started calling us hackers and that they didn鈥檛 have our records.

My husband wanted to surprise me with two puppies as a wedding gift. The web site looked legit but it turned out it was not, they were all part of an elaborate scam. My husband paid the deposit and picked out the puppies, they sent us photos. The people didn't respond top text messages very quickly or emails until they wanted the final amt. That was paid to them, a contract was signed where we agreed to take good care of the puppies, gave them the rights to the puppies should we ever want to get ride of them etc. The day to ship them to us came and we had to hound the people for information then we got an email from Delivery Company U.S.A letting us know they had our puppies and they were being vet checked. They then called about 30 min later to confirm the delivery address and relevant information. Delivery would be about 10:00 PM that night. An hour later I receive an email telling me they need a $2500.00 refundable deposit because the sleeping create doesn't have food or water dishes and the puppy can't rest comfortably. There was no phone number listed or anyway to get ahold of the people. I went to the original email where I found a number and called it. It's a google phone number and when the man answered he was very difficult to understand which would have been fine as long as he spoke slowly enough for me. I asked some questions and he kept repeating what the email said about the crate. When I said I would put it on my credit card he said no they didn't take credit cards because it takes 3-4 days for them to clear. I told him that didn't seem correct as I know these are declined if the large isn't good at the time the numbers are run. And since I didn't know his company or have never done business with them I would not give them my bank account information. He then said if I wanted my puppies I would have to pay the fee because the breeder said I wanted them today. Hold on buddy, we never said anything of the sort, the breeder said she would send them that day, since we were going out of town we said, no it can wait till Monday. Anyway he hung up on me saying I would have to pay. All the while my husband is trying to reach the breeder to find out what the heck was up. We have had family and friends have dogs delivered in sleeping kennels before with no problems at all…and why was I speaking to someone with a Florida number when they are supposed to be in Texas. The breeder basically said it was our problem. after a little research we have come to find out that this is a scam that people have pulled over an over again, selling puppies on line but then all of a sudden there is this big crate rental fee that you have to rent and at the end of the day the puppy never arrives…and your out 3,000 – 4,000 dollars.
I also reached out to the breeder under a new email account they didn't have as we noticed that they had Never updated the web site to show that Shasa and Sammy had been adopted. So I sent an email under a different name and asked if all of the puppies on their web sit were still available and they responded yes they were. At the same time they sent a text to my husband advising him they were on the way to the shipping company with the puppies about 30 minutes away.
