I would highly recommend Gokyo Treks. Communication with Ammar was seamless and he provided a very clear breakdown of trek options, their corresponding costs, and a meetup in Kathmandu the day prior to our trek. Our tour guide Rajesh went above and beyond his tour guide duties during our trek through ABC. He treated our group as his own family, making sure that we were safe and comfortable throughout our time on the mountain. We will definitely be using Gokyo Treks again if we are lucky enough to return to Nepal!

Had a great experience with Gokyo on my Poon Hill trek! They made everything very easy and straight forward and helped put together a custom trek that suited my fitness level and needs. Me and my friend booked Langtang Valley trek throw Gokyo Treks and we dont regret anything, because everything was just PERFECT. We also customized little bit the trip with our guide Bishnu and everything went very well. So if you want to go trekking to Nepal i highly reccomend use Gokyo Treks services, because there are professionals who know how to organizise everything.

Ammar organized for us a great, relaxing experience. Our guide Som was very friendly, knowledgeable and took our needs into account at all times, while being very flexible about the schedule. We were able to reach all of our goals, including taking astrophotographs, even above 5000m.

Langtang Valley trek
My husband and I (in our 60's) did the Langtang Valley trek with our daughter (age 28) in early November. We could not have been happier with the trip, particularly our expert guide Kamal who became a friend by the trip's end. He is patient, kind, knowledgeable and experienced. Couldn't ask for anyone better! We also loved our porters Santosh and Sanjaya (on his way to becoming a guide). Both super friendly and helpful people with a great sense of humor and consistently positive attitude. Pretty sure the tone for the whole organization is set by Ammar Gunni, the team leader in Kathmandu, who promptly and patiently sent detailed answers to all our many emailed questions before our trip. Go Gokyo! We would not consider trekking with anyone else — and despite our age, we are seriously thinking about a repeat trip with this fine local organization sometime in the next few years! Thank you to all of you!

I am a Malaysian who did the 10-day Annapurna Base Camp trek alone with Ram as my guide. This was my first time in Nepal and I have to say that I am highly satisfied with Gokyo Treks. Ammar handled everything from the moment I landed in Kathmandu airport. I had nothing to worry about! The professionalism and hospitality was amazing!

We were two friends who did the Annapurna Basecamp trek include Poonhill with guide Ram and porter Dipendra Jan/Feb 2018. It was very comfortable, familiar and professional with these guys.

My solo trip to Nepal was a pretty last minute decision. I decided to go ahead to book the flight and then hunt a guide. Ammar was the first guide I wrote to, and I picked him as my guide for this trip.

My few days trip with Ammar was great and relaxing. He's always on time, with a smile 🙂 In the short few days time, he showed & explained to me Nepal culture, history, beliefs and always patiently answered my questions (I can ask alot of questions sometimes ).

I am grateful to have him as a guide. He made my trip hassle free (just follow him 🙂 ), navigating through historical buildings, lanes, multiple busy streets. It was a good experience for me to get a glimps of how the local lives, the food they eat, the prayer rituals they do daily, while visiting tourist places.

Also, I got to hear many stories from Ammar. If you want to hear ghost stories from him, ASK HIM!! 🙂

Overall, it was a simple yet satisfying trip, am sure will leave a lasting memory for me. I hope to visit Nepal again in near future. Nepalese people are generally friendly. I feel safe all the time while exploring this country.

Should you wish to engage Ammar as your guide, you should without hesitant. He has been a guide years He is good at planning your ite in Nepal – you can leave it to him.

It is the third time, that I did a trek organzied by Ammar/Gokyo Treks.

This time I startet arund the 22. of Dec. 2016 for a 16 days trek to the Everest Base Camp.

I decided last minute to fly to Nepal. Due to that, it was great. Also this time I had a great guide, I got my flights and anything else was organized well.

Fortunately also the weather was sunny for 14 days and I can say just, THANK YOU Ammar, for your kind help and support!!!

At the end of October to mid-November we were on the Annapurna Cirquit.
Guide and Porter came from the well known agency "Gokyo Treks & Expedition".

As usual, Ammar Guni has prepared and organized everything very well.
The communication via email ran as always fast and uncomplicated.

Our very good English speaking guide Ram took care of everything.

We wanted to go as much as possible on the new NATT trails to avoid the roads.
Also we chose the lodges very individually.
All this was not a problem and we were together with the Porters Sudip and Dinesh a good team, liked to play a few rounds of cards in the evenings.

From Ram we also learned a lot about Nepal. He was equally interested in Germany and the West World, so there was always an interesting conversation.

The weather was very good, so we had a great tour with lots of highlights.

On the next tour in Nepal we will definitely contact Ammar again …

They were very accomodating and friendly. Created a custom tour for me to fit in my timeframe. The guide Kamal was very attentive and had great knowledge of the region. After my trek they let me stay at their house for a couple of nights for me to get things sorted. The family was very nice and provided a great experience.
