My account was canceled without notification. It was easy to open an account and submit a proposal for a project. I wanted help to restore my collectible car. Perhaps this should only be used for people who have real needs. I would appreciate better communication about their not-so-friendly service.

I wish they were run better. I want to donate more to various good organizations and people through them. But they have conflicting and biased rules towards various charitable things. Just focus on business and you'll be fine.

Go Fund Me will not allow organizers to access their accounts and they refuse to turn over the money raised. Go Fund Me is dodgy and won't come to the telephone. They deliberately lock people out of their accounts. They then give fake error messages claiming you cant log in because email and password is wrong, then after that they claim too many sign in attempts made. Lies lies lies. They have no legitimate reason people can't log in. They make millions of dollars on interest only by holding the money 90 days then refunding donors in full. A few paid actors claim they got their money. This is theater. See BBB.org for 445 complaints at Better Business Bureau. See photo below of Go Fund Me CEO Tim Cadogan ring leader.

I am very stressed out and frustrated with gofundme. I created a campaign to help my family in Lebanon from the explosion, but I can't withdraw the donations that have been made! I wrote dozens of emails and asked for help but not one person from gofundme has answered me yet. There is absolutely no support at all! I'm starting to think gofundme is a scam because there are still 2 donors that have put money in to help people that need it, and I have got no answers from gofundme. Do not use Gofundme! If anyone that works for gofundme is reading this- please email me at: [email protected]
I would be very surprised if I actually hear from you because right now I am very disappointed in your service. Very angry! I will be spreading the word about this awful situation as well.- Fai Fadia Kanaan.

My funds have been on hold and I can't get a response from customer service after sending multiple emails. Got an automated message saying they would reply within 24 hours and I am still waiting. My account has a message claiming they sent an email I actually never receive. These funds are to help someone in my family who desperately need it and people are holding me accountable for this money and I feel sick just thinking about all this. Would love to get a response from Gofundme.

Started a go fund me a while ago we raised the goal of 10k. However, the family who was receiving the money only collected $6500 as they told us gofundme.com kept the rest. We thought the profits they take are too high. Anyways the family got their funeral paid for under $6000 so they were happy to have had the help. There should be a sign on their website dictating what they keep and what they distribute.

That when a fund raiser on gofundme.com is started, that whatever money raised, the recipient DOESN'T receive the FULL amount raised? There is some money deducted. I recently was the victim of a job opportunity SCAM and one of the organizations I reached out to to seek help was our local news station. They set up a Zoom call so they could interview me. The piece ran three times. The day after it aired, I was informed that a viewer wanted to donate some money to me as a kindness (my situation was moving to them). The reporter suggested I start a Go Fund Me. So I did. Two months in since that was the only donation, I decided to see how I could receive the money (since by then I REALLY needed it). Setting up a transfer, I noticed the funds were sent to my bank account MINUS FIFTEEN bucks! It wasn't the FULL amount! I wasn't aware of this. So I just want others who may start a Go Fund Me to be aware.

This outfit is raking in millions and run a slip shod operation. They should be investigated by the Banking Commission.

I've had mixed reviews with gofundme. The new online pan handling website for society. People create all sorts of accounts for all sorts of things ranging from hobbies, health, religion, memorials and who knows what. For the most part it works like it is supposed to. People create their account. Select a valid reason. Let the funds start rolling in. If the funds max out at the goal amount you get to keep all the money. Certain rules apply for less than that as dictated in their guidelines. If an account gets deemed unworthy I'm not sure if the money goes back to the original donor or if the company keeps it. That is why it is good not to set your goal amount too high. You can always create another gofundmne to continue the funds.

The negative side of it is that I've heard the company not allowing the individuals to keep 100% of the allocated funds. They can suspend accounts at a whim and compensate your funds earned at their disposal. They are allowed to keep a small percentage of your earned funds but I've heard some stories of people being screwed over by this.

The second negative side of this is not all people are honest. I use to volunteer, I use to donate, I use to tithe, I use to give to the needy but after being scammed here and there I have discontinued these actions. One rotten egg will ruin it all. Several rotten eggs will ruin it forever. I will never volunteer in society again unless it's judge ordered. (I'm a good rule follower citizen so I don't see that happening at all.) Do research people you give to. So that you know you are not being scammed or taken advantage of.

Story: Coworker diagnosed with cancer. True story. Bills piled up. Debt occurred due to it. True. Unable to work due to cancer. True. Paid off bills. True. Mortgage on house heavily reduced due to extra income. True. Well this is all fine and dandy and I support stuff like this. However, his gofundme account is still ongoing and I know him personally. The side you don't know: Always poor but spending money like he's a rich person. As his gofundme account continues he is getting money he never would dream. He is doing projects and purchasing items his own salary would never support. Instead of setting it aside for the time frames he can't work he is instead embezzling it on him self. Then moaning when it's all gone and allowing his mood to affect the whole work place when he shouldn't be at work.

We're starting to hear stories of thousands of dollars of shopping sprees on this and that.

We're being told stories of expensive home remolding projects with expensive stuff.

We're being told stories of how he is able to buy that extra fancy thing his wife wanted that he was never able to buy.

We're being told stories of parties and gatherings (before covid) and seeing him purchase fancy fiddles on a limited income salary.

Get the picture. Do be careful of who you give money to.

NO matter how much you provide and how much or lil you raise the withdrawal to your account will not happen. Providing all the bills, lease, business reg, bank info and certifications yet still they want to phish people govt ID and even or those who gave them DL, passport and all still they are awaiting money over 2 yrs.

AND, they expect us to provide government ID which in Canada it is illegal, it's even written on the ID and passport: NOT to be used as ID, property of Canadian government. The privacy act is clear on that, and keeping the money hostage in return for govt ID is a federal offence here, yet they still do business here and impose these rules. I have reported them to RCMP fraud dept. They know about them, not the first person to be scammed by them.

They keep replying that it's their terms, who cares, if the terms are illegal doesn't make them ok!

People with positive experience are 3yrs and before, looks like mostly all negative after that. Don't try to email back and forth to explain you will not win any argument even if they know you are right. AVOID AT ALL COST! It's quite disturbing using people in need urgently and scam them like this.. I read that they use the funds to invest hence why they keep you in a loop of 'security verification' all bogus claim. Be very wary if you have money in donations, best you ask to send back to people and get them to send you directly with PP or FB donations, which I knew that before!

To help lst time users, please put a little note on the donation page, where the donor enter the $ amount, that he/she must check his/her email for their receipt, the link to add donation comments is at the bottom of the receipt. I was new to GoFundMe, was unable to add comments after donation. I did not know that I had to check for my email for the receipt first. It was frustrating for lst time users! The help desk got back to me in about 2 days, that's ok, no complaint.

GoFundme is a very friendly and convenient platform for fundraising. It is amazing that it is for free. Without GoFundMe our campaign would not have had a wide impact. Thank you

We have set up a GoFundMe account and have collected over $100k for the relief of workers in our company who have lost their jobs due to the Corono virus. This represents hundreds of good folks who have donated with that intention. Two weeks and multiple email exchanges with "Support" (there is no phone contact for this outfit and no other way to contact them), and they are still holding on these funds with us having no recourse but to wait until somebody sends us another email. Critical assistance is being delayed as a result of this negligence or simple lack of consideration. I am wondering how many millions of dollars for other groups who have setup similar relief funds are now sitting with this company instead of being available to assist those in need.

Great service. They do take a portion of the profits which sucks, but awesome people who work on here, they are always ready to answer questions and do whatever they can to help !
