My insurance was with GMAC/National General. Thought they were a great insurance company, until I lost my car to a tree limb. Little did I know what was about to transpire. I filed the insurance claim, they cut the check. They spoke to the body shop. Next thing I know I get a phone call they are going to total out my car, when I'm thinking it is going to be fixed. Now I was left without a car. Then I get a phone call from them stating they were going to add gap insurance to cover the remaining balance. (Small amount) Next I get a phone call from the CU stating that the insurance company is not going to cover the remaining balance. Even though I had full coverage. Everything should have been covered. Then they go and take my car from the body shop without me knowing. Then CU tell me I will be responsible for the remaining balance of a car I no longer have due to a tree limb!! The lady from the CU wanted to start harassing me for the payment of the balance of the car. Saying it was going to incur fees if I did not pay within a certain amount of time. (Fort Financial CU) so I'm left with the remaining payments of the balance of my car. What good is full coverage if you can't use it when it is needed? GMAC/NATIONAL GENERAL is the insurance company. I should not have to pay anything at all even if it is a small amount. I was with this insurance company for years. I will not refer anyone to this company!!
