Best of the Best. You can't get a better guitar! I have been playing Gibson for years. After I learned what a difference there is in quality.

Just purchased a 2020 Gibson les paul standard 50's in heritage cherry sunburst aside from the guitar arriving in absolutely horrible conditions loose pointers on volume and tone knobs loose pick guard it has one of the most awfully matched maple tops I've ever seen on a guitar for $2499 this is what you get ! Made in the USA use to mean something special, makes you want to buy a foreign made guitar

Imagine spending over $1,000 on something, waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive, have it not arrive, call customer service and have the guy not care what so ever about helping you, say they'll send you an email the next day regarding the situation, only for the orders to be cancelled and deemed as "fraudulent." Rep didn't give me any solution to the problem other than "Try ordering from us again or go through a dealer." And when I asked how the orders were fraudulent, he said "I don't know that's not my department." So that means that I have to wait even longer to get the instrument and gear I wanted if I even want to place to order again with no clear answer of what happened. Which honestly after that experience, I'm tempted to go to another brand. Sure they may be known for the quality and tech of their gear and instruments, but after that experience I'm very reluctant to give them my money and would rather take my business elsewhere. Very sketchy.

Something is definitely going wrong with Gibson. My Zoot Suit rainbow les paul is absolutely stunning, but when i went to try out some of the newer guitars they just didn't have the same sparkle that the older models had.
Maybe it was a bad year or batch, but it is kind of sad to see them out of touch. Perhaps they need to be a bit more innovative instead of having reissue after reissue.

A long history of very uneven quality, excessive pricing and arrogance are killing this company. Barely avoided bankruptcy again in 2018 after a massive overexpansion into areas that have nothing to do with their business, a cash grab that failed miserably. This while their actual business sits ignored and withering badly.

Just when they needed some positive news they released that "Play Authentic" video which was a threat not even thinly veiled. A threat against not only competitors but customers over bogus "trademark infringement" claims which when they tried to push it through the courts their &$$ was handed back to them with a side of mint sauce. That had the opposite effect of increasing sales and destroyed the tiny bit of goodwill they had left. Now this company is the laughing stock of the industry.

Terrible customer service. Totally not interested in solving problems for people who have spent thousands on their products. Shoddy work on the bindings and frets and won鈥檛 repair the guitar. Will never buy another Gibson again.

Back in the good old days these guitars were amazing. Now they're just another overpriced cashgrab. You've ruined Flying V's design forever.

I've got a CL20s I believe the model is called. It's from 97, arched back, Sitka spruce of course. It's the precursor to the songwriter edition. Excellent Acoustic electric… I wish it had a Fishman pickup however to adjust tone and volume, rather than just a passive, an active system would have been so much better

I was playing the minor club circuit in South Eastern new England area (U.S.A) and not only did my acoustic electric guitar had major issues with a lifting bridge and truss rod, my Les Paul Special Electric guitar, the wood actually BROKE under the bridge! While both of these guitars was under warranty, Gibson did not care nor honor their warranty AT ALL. They basically wanted me to spend money for shipping and the repair. And even after this, recently.. I sent them an email explaining to them that I wanted to give them another shot with using one of there electric guitars on the commercial licensed music that I am now writing. I explained to them, that I have co-written music with many notable people over the years (since 1984), and now I have been securing contracted licensed deals for background music (movies, radio and other media). Nothing.. messages on Facebook, multiple emails.. 100% nothing. No wonder why they are doing so poorly financially. You would think.. that they would jumping at a chance to redeem what happened to me while playing live as well as sponsorship like "other" instrument companies have done!

I was gonna buy an RV for my family and travel the country in it. But I'm sure they will be a lot happier if I buy a Gibson guitar.
They (Gibson) need to understand that musicians are poor people. So them thousands of dollars for one guitar is pretty counterproductive, if you ask me.
Gibson has also seemed to focus less on quality and more on money. They poop out a lot of guitars but they're not making much quality of guitars. They have shifted to quantity, while sacrificing quality. They have shifted to profits, while sacrificing the robustness in their guitars. For the most famous guitar company, Gibson is going far downhill.
I had a Gibson. I fetched up the money to get myself a nice Gibson guitar. But boy, was I disappointed. The fretwork was terrible. Let me just say I bought a used Danelectro that came in better shape than my brand new Gibson. Oh, and the Danelectro was only $430. This Gibson was tenfold that.

Their attention to detail seems to be declining more and more each year, while the price goes up and up. If you buy a new Gibson, whether it be a low end model or high end model, be prepared to spend more money having the fretwork done and set up b/c they dont play very good at all straight from the factory. The look good, and have good hardware, but the attention to detail just isnt there. You can buy alot nicer guitars for less money.

I was very happy with a recent repair/restoration on my 77 Les Paul Classic. Returned on time and in tune!

The problem with Gibson is the price quality range, when other brands offers better products for less money. Even with all the money that cost one decent Les Paul, sometimes there are quality control issues, and that is unacceptable!.

I have had so many guitars. But after I bought my first Gibson I played just this instrument. Why? Cause it's the best one. It sounds amazing. And I feel totally comfortable while playing it. Gibson is my love (hope, my girlfriend won't read this).

I guess everybody likes something different. Especially when it comes to guitars. I've always liked Gibson guitars. To me they are a sort of Land Rovers of guitar world. Yes, the company today may not be the same as it was a couple decades ago, but this is what happens, times change, nothing stays the same. The build quality is still there, the sound is still there, just slightly different.

It seems that since the death of the great Les Paul, Gibson's whole tone has taken a divebomb for the worst in my opinion. No, Gibson, I don't need a firebird with a thousand buttons that do nothing for my down to earth blues style playing. I also don't need to pay five thousand dollars for that guitar. I just want a high quality, simple, guitar.

While I find the site trustworthy, reliable, secure, and child safe…I've always been bummed by the lack of historical content about the brand. Gibson has such a rich history of guitar making, but you wouldn't know it in visiting their site. I would love to see something that covers all the different models and iterations of those models from year to year with serial numbers and all that good stuff, straight from Gibson. Just a thought on content, above that a great site from a company that makes great guitars!
