I had an excellent experience with Getbybus, and it's mainly due to their above-average customer support. If I were to judge by their website alone, I would not have given five stars, but rather four. However, what they lack in web-UI, they more than make up for with top-notch customer centered support.

Very good experience. I do not think that Getbybus has anything to do with Bus company experience, which are something completely different and has to do with a bus company itself.
Customer service is easy to reach and girls that work there are very polite.

What a complete mess. Bought a ticket Banja Luka – Jajce but the Bus came 2 hours later without notification. Actually the bus that I booked didn鈥檛 even come and nobody on the station had a clue. Gave it nonetheless another chance for a ride to Mostar but the app broke several time down due the paying progress. I鈥榣l try it the old school Balkan way by giving the driver some cash.

I reviewed this site before I made a purchase using Getbybus, and I will say I was a bit nervous. But I couldn't find any other options besides booking the buses in person, which I didn't want to do. I ended up just doing it. I was pleasantly surprised with the results! I booked two trips (Banja Luka to Mostar and back). There were no delays and the buses were very comfortable! The only negative I could find was that the bus drivers spoke no English, but all good. All in all, I was very happy with everything. I would recommend going forward!

I must write something in defence of GetbyBus because I used them multiple times and every time I was completely satisfied. Their customer service is amazing. When I needed to rebook my ticket to another day, they responded within minutes with a new ticket.
It seems that a lot of people don't even know what "GetbyBus" is or how does it work. It is pretty much like Booking or Tripadvisor, except for bus travel.
They give 1 star rating because of terrible Croatian bus companies like notoriously bad 膶rnja Tours not picking up passengers with valid tickets because they sold more tickets than they have seats, which is just one of many things 膶rnja Tours has been doing for years. I do wonder how they are still in business.
It would be just like giving 1 star rating to Booking because you picked a terrible hotel. Research more about bus companies before picking the first one just because it's cheap

We booked the bus from Split to Zagreb and Zagreb to Ljubljana through Getbybus. But the first one was late and arrived at Zagreb after the secound departure time. So we couldn't get on the secound one.
I asked for Getbybus about the refund, but they told me that my connection in Zagreb was not influenced by the delay, so they can't refund.
I'll never use this service.

Wanted to change the ticket and they made it so easy – 2 emails and 10 minutes later and I was good to go. Definetly the best customer service I have ever received from a company.
Dont complain, when your bus is late – It is not their fault, they are just the agency selling tickets. Its the same thing like skyscanner is not responsible for the delay of Lufthansa flight.

First of all, we had to wait for 1h and nobody gave us any reason for this delay. Besides, once the bus got the station we were asked to pay extracharge, precisely 10kunas for each piece of luggage. In addition to that, the air conditioning didnt work properly and taking into consideration we were in summer, this made the trip (5h trip) unbearable. Some drops of water even fell over us and the worst thing was the driver and the assistant driver attitude who were so rude and careless about our complaints.

Never book through Getbybus or the bus company 膶rnja tours. Just pay a little more to get Flixbus.
I booked a seat of a last departure of 膶rnja tours from Salzburg to Munich. I waited at the station for 30mins then I decided to book the last flixbus right away or I might need to stay overnight in Salzburg. I complained to Getbybus and they said the bus was late for 1 hour 15 mins. However, they are not refunding me because the company bares no responsibility if the delay is less than 2 hour.

We booked a bus ticket ? was from Zagreb to Split with Getbybus, the bus company is Samobocek. Everyone on the bus had assigned seats except for us, so we were constantly kicked out of our seats! Extremely annoying. We will not buy our tickets with this getbybus again.

We booked a ticket with Senad Tours through GetbyBus. The tour went well and the bus left on schedule, but 20 km before arrival we were dropped off in a city. The bus said it would come back and get us, but never did, so we had to take a cap. Really unpleasant experience!

My husband and I used getbybus and booked a ticket from New Zealand to ensure we got seats on the right bus from Porec to Rovinj in Croatia. The bus was just over an hour late and even though this is such a short journey they stopped on the side of the road and a dozen of us had to get out and transfer to a small minivan where we were so cramped there was no elbow room between passengers no room for bags which had to sit on our knees. Will not book from New Zealand again with this company, we could have been there so much quicker had we just purchased a ticket at the kiosk as two buses left for Rovinj while we were waiting for ours.

Getbybus are "only an intermediary" so if anything goes wrong, which it did, they are in no position to help.
Two weeks ago, myself and my other female friend were getting a bus from Skopje to Sofia, before we were due to get an overnight bus to Bucharest. We boarded the bus in Skopje and the bus driver was incredibly rude, he got in a fight with one of the passengers before we had even left the bus station. Journey was going fine until around 15 minutes before the Bulgarian border the driver pulls over into a tiny shop on the side of the road to buy cigarettes. When he gets back on the bus the bus won't start. The driver and some locals try for 15 minutes to get the bus to start before giving up, at which point the driver and another passenger on the bus start drinking with the local people at the shop. At no point at all does the driver say anything to any of us sitting waiting on the bus. We learned that another bus was coming from Sofia for us after one passenger overhears the driver on the bus. We wait there for over 3 hours with absolutely no word from the driver about what's happening.
A small minibus arrives, we all transfer over and head off again. After driving for around 10 minutes we turn around because the driver had forgotten our tickets which are needed at the border, we go back and finally head for the border again. After driving in Bulgaria for awhile the bus pulls over and the driver, who had been drinking with the other passenger, gets out and takes over driving!! The passenger who he had been drinking with is very drunk and smoking cigarettes in the back of the bus.
We arrive to Sofia 4 hours after we were due to. Me and my friend have to spend the night in the bus station in Sofia after missing our overnight bus as a result of the delays – so we then have to pay for a second bus the next day. Not once, at any point did either of the drivers offer any explanation or apology. It was such an awful experience.
Then over a week ago I contacted Getbybus to explain what had happened and ask for a refund only to be told by lots of polite agents that they're only an intermediary and cant refund me. I haven't asked for them to cover the costs of the bus over missed because of their driver just my money back for the awful journey and they cant do it. It's not a lot of money, like 40 euro so I'm baffled as to why their company can't refund me and sort it out with the bau company themselves after the fact. I dont care about how they work with their partners, my experience as a customer has been terrible, they had an opportunity to fix that and failed to do anything. Extremely disappointed

Information about the bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor was minimal or only provided after purchase. No platform or departure no at the bus station. Told after purchase 鈥榶ou May have to pay extra for baggage鈥?for a ticket that is already an exorbitant price. No suggestion of cost before purchasing. Expectations that tourists are able to print tickets 鈥榡ust like that鈥? Croatia bus company is terrible company and some guy stands at the luggage door extorting cash money to take bags in compartment. WHY is it not indicated the cost before booking Extra 20 Kuna) $5 Australian.
Charge is just applied to tourists and not locals.
Mumma sits collecting tickets at the front seat
and making allowances to some and not to others. Very very bad feeling.

We have booked tickets from Turkey through to Greece later in 2019. Travelling from Australia and in these situations for the sake of a question we like to double check just to make sure all is OK before we arrive for a bus or a train etc at a later date. Your itinerary is 'up the creek' if your purchase is not valid. The response from Getbybus gave the type of service that stood out head & shoulders above the norm. Clear, informative, helpful, reassuring, you name it. Above all it was friendly. In Australian parlance it was 'fair dinkum' and unfortunately we don't get enough of it these days. Thanks Vivian. The help service of getbybus website is truly amazing.
I needed to change a bus ticket from Split to Zagreb in Croatia urgently. I sent the mail around 6:20 pm and I got a phone call at 7:00 pm the same day, notifying me that everything was set up correctly. The change request was for the same day!!! I didn't have any hopes for this change, but it was made in record time.
The service exceeded my expectations.

This website is extremely user friendly and so easy to use for booking the bus tickets throughout Europe. First, I had doubts related to the website since I've read some reviews here, but then I have decided to book my first ticket, and of course, I made a mistake. 🙂 However, I have received an immediate reply from their customer service that resolved the issue in no time. I wish we had a similar system here in the States, or they expand their offer…
It seems to me that people have left the review here not for Getbybus, but for the bus companies they are selling the tickets for. I did the same, because I was of course not that satisfied with every company I travelled with – but I did it on their site directly after the journey was over through an e-mail I received.

We missed our bus because of bad and misinforming service from the bus station in Zagreb. Getbybus.com looked into our situation and was not able to accommodate our misfortune. We did book after hours of getbybus so customer service wasn't available and our booking ticket was before getbybus hours so virtually it would've been impossible for getbybus to assist on our booking. They responded to us in a professional manner but because of the hours of operation, I'm not satisfied of the operation working hours. It would make more sense if the hours of operation aligns with the first and last bus schedule.

Been using this website (which is just a convenient ticketing website covering multiple bus companies) for a week now in Croatia. Takes a few minutes to book, mobile ticket you show to the driver. Gives info on where the bus stops are and how long the journey will take. Also has reviews on the different bus companies so you can see which are better. Very convenient and works well. The other reviews about buses being late appear to have no idea what they are reviewing. I find that pretty pathetic actually. It's NOT A BUS COMPANY. It's just a ticket service.

The bus out was 1hr late, and the bus back was 2hrs late. I very nearly missed my flight because of this, and it wasn鈥檛 because of the border- it was already almost our scheduled arrival time before we even reached the border. I pointed this out to the driver, who simply shrugged. The arrival times they print are grossly inaccurate- there鈥檚 no way my trip could have been completed in the time they printed on any day or under any circumstance. Completely deceptive, and dangerously so- as mentioned, I was minutes away from missing my flight, and buying another ticket would have been hugely expensive. I鈥檓 absolutely certain all the positive reviews here are fake- just have a read of them, they鈥檙e all exactly the same. If you need to use these buses, please plan for many many hours before you need to be anywhere. Factor in that there will most likely be huge delays- the border alone can sometimes take several hours to cross. Or just fork out for a taxi, the buses are the ones that get really delayed due to the number of people that need to be checked.

Two worst experiences ever! First bus – 4 hours without AC in 35 degrees. Second bus – leaving 10 people (with tickets) behind, including us, since the bus where overbooked. Fantastic…
