I am doubtful about the site's experts. Descriptions of lots are sometimes inaccurate and impossible to correct. Customer service is not helpful. Shipping costs outrageous. Unsold lots reappear ad nauseum, yet misleading untruthful descriptions are not corrected despite repeated requests by this buyer to do so. Avoid this site like the plague. There must be a better and more professional site somewhere out there!

NEVER BUY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL SITE!
They have no buyer protection!
I spend high amounts on the vintage watches for my business on this site. Most of the watches come in not working condition which is NEVER described in the listing! Sellers are not responsive as they don't get punished by Catawiki! Catawiki doesn't help at all!
Over $1000 watch lost, the seller is not responding but still selling on Catawiki. No even option to leave a negative feedback for the seller just a neutral! It's jock not a professional site!
You might get a good experience buying once from them but definitely don't use it for business!

Sold lot is at local collection point of the buyer. The buyer refuses to collect the lot without any reason since 21st of september besides does not answer my emails. In addition Catawiki stays silent after my three emails.

Catawiki clearly manipulates reviews and removes negative reviews. I had a case where i bought 2 lots from a seller and was charged twice the very expensive packaging. Afterwards that are the rules and that is not my discussion.

I kindly contact the seller and the seller agreed to reduce the price of shipment. The 2 lots also arrived in a single tube the the shipment was not compensated as the seller had promissed.

I kindly contact the seller to discuss this as he promissed me something different. I waited a few weeks for his answer. Which did not come

Today i got a message from catawik support (liam) that my negative comment (that seller did not react and honor his proimissed), was removed to neutral.

I explained to catawiki support, but they remained with their view. It clearly illustrates that reviews can not be taken seriously as support is beautifying the comments.
So before you buy on catawiki: 1掳 be sure to check for excessive support costs 2掳 don't count on reduced costs if outside your country 3掳 support will remove negative reviews upon seller request.

My conclusion is that seller review is a scam, as illustrated.

Bought an item, 14 days passed before confirmation item was shipped, this is against Catawiki rules, so left negative feedback. By some magick, this feedback was quickly deleted on the(very big) seller's account(by Catawiki, I presume). The feedback is a scam, only showing the positive, because Catawiki gets money from the commission on sellers… it's all a trap for idiots wasting their money on the Catawiki website

Sellers beware. Catawiki is run by the auctioneers, some are good, others very poor & not fit to call themselves auctioneers. Disagree with their comment, you get banned and ALL OF YOUR MONEY HELD WITHOUT ANY RIGHT OF REPLY FOR AS LONG AS THEY SEE FIT.
After 5 years and tens of thousands of euros in fees I was banned for asking an auctioneer why he had denied my listing but allowed 4/5 others the same. I've attempted to file a complaint but there is no recourse for wronged sellers.
I am now going to seek legal action following my funds being held illegally for over 2 months.

You've been warned! Sell elsewhere.

Sellers be careful : You will lose your time and be blocked from selling if you want to work regularly , especially in the Jewelry Category with Renis Carlos.
Dont waste your time here , better find another platform

Expert like Carlos Pe帽a Renis in a jewelry department is a very bad name for Catawiki.
Very Racist , unprofessional and he will waste your time and then close your account because he also sells on Catawiki.
We have noted that few experts are selling on Catawiki themselves and will deliberately block other sellers who are selling the same items.

After more than 4 years & 2,500 sales catawiki has blocked my account as I questioned an auctioneer and point out he was listing fakes watches.
This is an amateur company with little or no support for sellers with antiquated & inflexible systems.
Sellers & buyers are nothing more than cash cows for this company, they charge 15% on sales to the seller, 9% to the buyer – ridiculously high for such poor service.
They will do whatever they can not to refund these fees leaving buyers & sellers to resolve issues themselves.
I've wasted a long time trying to make it work on here. This company is a joke. You would be well advised to use more recognisable auction sites.

Good website. After following it for a week, it became clear how it was operating.
Point of improvement: make beforehand clear how two parcels from the same seller could be accounted for while not charging double while sending and delivering in one parcel.

user-fa71fc9 in Germany sold me a fossil agglomerate. It was a fake (fossils crudely cemented together) and the cement was pulverized during transit. Seller refused to refund or even submit a postal claim (required by seller in international shipping) and Catawiki refuses to help.
LOST $350 – Catawiki is a SCAM!!!

Many of my items were sold through Catawiki, but they refuse to issue the payout for those items. They keep contacting the finance department which does not give any reason on the delay!
ALL of the items have been DELIVERED and ALL buyers are happy with their purchases.
I have been waiting for my money for more than a MONTH now!

Be Aware when selling on the platform! Expect to wait a looong time for the money to appear in the bank account!!!

The worst customer service and the communication with customer ever! They do not answer questions, do not solve your problems at all. They just send automatic messages over and over again. Besides even if they answer you, their response does not mean anything at all! Because the answers are send to be automatically. Are you kidding with us? Why are you here, ha? To not to answer our questions and keep waiting us? The other platforms even smaller than you have a better service. They support us with live chat with a real person!
I also tried to sell a few good lots that are exactly suitable for the auctions. Mine are not approved but somehow items are really really standart that you can find it anywhere else, are approved! Your customer service sucks and your experts are not real experts at all. Oh gosh I am really going to be crazy!!!

Catawiki should change their experts in the Jewellery Department, Especially Mr Carlos Renis.

After deliberately slowing down the process of selling in the jewellery category, he made many unprofessional and time wasting requests, for which he didnt even had seen the lots.
With same Automatic 'Copy' 'Paste' messages and lots rejections.

The whole process of time wasting took round about 3 weeks.
Very shameful and unethical.

Is Catawiki made for wasting the time of people or providing services or happy to lose good loyal sellers?

Now i know why Catawiki has a loss of $13.7 million.
It happens when experts like Mr Carlos Pe帽a Renis wasted my 1 month and at the end all lots were rejected and then i sold those precious jewellery into another platform in a week in a good margin.
How big loss it is for the catawiki , how many other sellers might be rejected like that and look who is losing ( ONLY Catawiki ) because of these unprofessional experts.
I tried to contact the help like and inform them about this issue , but no one is going to hear you.
Means that like to loss revenue.

First time buy, good mail contact, only the extra cost over the auction price is very high with the rest of the worlds auktions, even the most auktions don t have cost for buyers.

I listed few items in the Jewelry Category from Israel , but this Expert Carlos Pe帽a Renis rejected the lots because he did not like it , even i had certificates from GIA which is well known all over the world.

I searched and found out that this Expert is linked to few selling accounts from Spain and Netherlands,
and we suspect that these accounts are related to Mr Expert Carlos Pe帽a Renis.
Because all sellings are done in these few specific accounts and not other sellers are allowed easily by this Expert.
Therefore becareful with this expert , who will waste your 1 month and after that he will reject your lot because he does not want competitor.
From Israel we sellers have gathered and tried to contact the Catawiki , but waste of time.
Hope the CEO and other Managers can see these posts and take an action as soon as possible.

So called experts , especially '' Mr.Carlos Pe帽a Renis '' expert in '' Jewelry '' category is very arrogant , rude & unprofessional.
I have seem many sellers , who are complaining against this person , because so called expert has been rejecting many lots ( items ) from many sellers without any reason even their items are certified by reputed labs in the EU.
And now all these sellers are turning back to eBay & etc selling sites.
Which indeed is not only a big loss in terms of '' Revenue ''for Catawiki but also losing many sellers , because of these type of unprofessional & rude experts.
A group of sellers from UK, Germany & France have tried to contact the Higher Department in Catawiki , but as you know Catawiki's customer service is completely broken down.
I even tried many times to reach their higher management and to explain them that they are losing a huge sum of money , but no one cares and you are not connected to the right people.
The higher departments infact they dont know what is happening in the lower part by these so called '' Experts '' which is harming their hard work.
