The company operates under multiple aliases (Cashforlaptops, CashforiPhones, SellYourCell, etc) and scams people for their devices. If you're worried about not getting your device back or getting the money you want for it, please follow the steps below.
1. Avoid at all costs, if you have not shipped already. Save yourself the trouble and just use another site or sell your device yourself. You'll be grateful in the end!
2. If shipped, log into their online system and keep aware of updates of your device and the emails they send sometimes go to SPAM for no reason. You DO NOT want to lose any updates (emails) they send as this will cause you to lose your device.
3.READ READ READ their Terms & Conditions on their website. When they receive your device, you'll get an email that says Device Received, but wait until you receive the Device Inspected & Valued email. This is where they will LOWBALL the sh*t out of you! However, in their T&C's, you MUST CALL THEM WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS! Remember this, CALL THEM, not email, CALL them to discuss the offer within FIVE (5) DAYS. Actually MAKE IT FOUR (4) DAYS so they don't ignore your calls on the 5th… and this is NOT BUSINESS DAYS!
4. Once you call them, they will hassle you to let them keep your device and increase the offer without justification. This is where you can decide what is your selling threshold, do you take their increased price or not, it's up to you. HOWEVER, if you feel they are not making an effort you can DECLINE their final offer, and they MUST return your device in the same condition as sent according to their T&C's.

My Experience: I was quoted $881 for my Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2015 2.7 GHz laptop on Cashforlaptops. I received an offer of $136, WHAT THE H*LL!!! I called to get my device back and the offer went from $136 to $450 to $560 with no justification. This goes to show they are truly trying to prey on people wanting to get money for their devices and scam them out of paying them the original quote. I got my laptop back and sold it to a legit site.

If you're looking for a good site to sell used devices (phones or laptops) try using the eBay Valet program to sell it.

I had a quote of $147 for my iphone5c that had a software problem. no scratches no dents it just glitched and stopped working. after sending in the phone 5 months passed by without word of the check. I called/emailed numerous times each time they told me that they already sent it. I wasn't expecting much for the iphone and read that they give you less than quoted but when I finally recieved the check 6 months later it was for $10. I told them I wanted my phone back and they said they didn't know where it was. if you're looking for a reliable site that doesn't lie to you look elsewhere.

Stay away from this place. It is the worst place you could possibly send your phone to. It took them two weeks to even send me an email. then they offered me 29.00 for my iphone 6 that is totally fine and had nothing wrong with it. DO NOT GO HERE

I wanted to sell my Iphone 5 to Cashforiphones, and the quote I received was $300. I mailed in my device, and I got an email saying, 鈥測our device was appraised to be $180, according to the market value.鈥?I called the customer service, and was put on hold 6 times, for a total of 2 hours! Then, I finally talked to an agent, and she said my phone had a medium scratch on the screen and medium wear on the home button. She did say that she understood how $180 was too low and that she'd like to offer me $200. But, my phone was literally brand new. I just don't understand how they can simply refuse to mail my device back. I am very frustrated and deeply disturbed by how this company runs their business.!!! Seriously bad company stay away!!!!

I wanted to sell my Iphone 6 to Cashforiphones, and the quote I received was $403. After mailing in my device, I got an email saying 'your device was appraised to be $150, according to the market value!! I called the customer service and was put on hold 5 times, to a total of 2 hours of my life that I will never get back! But, my phone was literally brand new, I just don't understand how they can simply refuse to mail my device back. I am very frustrated and deeply disturbed by how this company runs their business.!!! cashforiphones company is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I got an online quote of $200 for my iPhone 5. When the company inspected my phone, they offered me $120.00. I called and asked to have my phone returned, and the lady said, "oh, I see your phone is worth more than $120.00, we will offer you $135.00". If I had not called to have the phone returned, it is a stipulation of the contract that I have accepted their initial offer of $120.00. Although my phone is still worth a lot more than their second offer, I am happy to get the extra $15.00 after wasting 40 minutes, or so, just staying on hold to speak to someone.
It is evident that they intentionally give you the lowest possible quote to try and scam you.
Not an honorable company, I would NEVER do any type of business with these people EVER!!!!!!!!

I found Cashforiphones on a web search at the end of March 2015. Their online system quoted me $263 for my AT&T IPhone 5s 64gb. Because it seemed like a reasonable price, I ordered the mailer box from them. As soon as I received it, I received several other emails asking me to hurry and send in my phone. I shouldn't have sent them my phone even as so many warning bells were going off left, right, and center.
Within a couple days of sending in my phone, I got an email saying that my check, for $120, was on the way. Baffled, and not knowing what to do, I emailed them back asking them about the initial quoted price. I was told that if I did not like the offer, I should respond within 3 days of receiving their new offer. Mind you, I had never gotten an email to notify that they received my phone, let alone receiving an actual offer. I feel really cheated with them.

I found out about cashforiphones from a friend, and when I searched the internet for it, it seemed to be pretty legit. I decided to give it a try for my old HP Laptop. I have been selling lots of electronic devices on Ebay in the past couple of years.
But this time, I wanted to try something different… So I sent in my HP laptop based on their quote of 195. When they got my laptop, they said the screen has a scratch and lowered the offer to $105.
I can guarantee that there was no crack or scratch on the screen when I sent it in. I called them and requested them to send my device back .
I wasted my time with them since I could鈥檝e sold it on eBay for a much higher price . very disappointed dealing with them!!!

I, like most everyone else, was scammed by cashforiphones.com. They quoted me $197 online for my iPhone 4S. After sending my iPhone in immediately, I received an email saying that after inspection, they would give me $11 for it. After emailing my rejection notice and for the phone to be returned, I did not receive a return email until almost 2 days later. They informed me then that I needed to call in to either accept or reject the offer of $11. I of course called and was transferred to one of the rudest individuals in the purchasing department I have ever encountered. This woman informed me that my phone had already been recycled and went through a huge list of things that were "wrong" with my iPhone that made the value drop almost 95%. Absolutely absurd. She yelled through the phone demanding I "listen to her" and that it was my fault for not calling sooner. Not only was this a giant scam, this company has the rudest, uneducated and unprofessional employees working for them. I am still shocked at this deceiving service and poor, poor, poor "customer service." I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews before sending in my phone as now it is apparently "too late." I hope that after this many poor reviews and continued complaints to the BBB (I just filed), this company gets shut down. It really is a shame that this type of "company" exists today and that they are allowed to continue their services. I truly believe that any positive review written was written by one of the employees. If I could give them a negative "star" review, I would. One star is far too much credit to give them. Awful. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS !!!!!

This company is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I got an online quote of $200 for my Iphone 5. When the company inspected my phone, they offered me $90.00. I called and asked to have my phone returned, and the lady says, "oh, I see your phone is worth more than $90.00, we will offer you $120.00". If I had not called to have the phone returned, it is a stipulation of the contract that I have accepted their initial offer of $90.00. Although my phone is still worth a lot more than their second offer, I am happy to get the extra $30.00 after wasting 40 minutes, or so, just staying on hold to speak to someone.

I was quoted $204 for my iPhone 5 and then upon inspection, my quote was lowered to $16. I reread the terms and conditions and they say you have 3 days to either accept or reject the new price and have your device sent back to you. I called the following day and the representative said my only options were to accept the $16 or accept her new $50 quote even though I demanded my phone back. Unfortunately, I accepted the $50 because she said I didn't have another choice because my phone was processed and my payment was submitted. The representative just kept repeating that. After hanging up, I checked and other people received their phones back. I called one more time and the new lady said that since I accepted the new price, I had no new option and told me that the original representative never told me I couldn't get my phone back!!!! So they used manipulative, misleading language to trick me. Do not, under any circumstance, use Cashforiphones.com

Knowing the exact specifications (4s, 16G, Verizon) of the phone I was trying to sell, Cashforiphones gave me an online quote of $94. I sent the phone to them which was nearly flawless and worked perfectly. Given that I sent my phone in a box provided by them, I thought it was safe to assume that it will arrive their warehouse without any damages. Over a week after they received the phone, they said that I was going to receive a check for $35. Somehow, $94 turned into $35.When I called them to demand an explanation, I was told that I'd have to speak to the purchasing department and then, I was put on hold for over 50 minutes. They just kept telling me to call back, even though I can never get the purchasing department on the phone. It appears to me that I, like so many others who have reviewed this company, was a victim of the classic "bait and switch."

The business performance of Cashforiphones is low and their process is nothing more than a key to make trick people. Don't be fooled and allured by the price they quote. They quoted me over $322 for two iPhones (different models) on their website – Cashforiphones.com. Subsequent to transporting both of them in, and waiting for a long time for an answer, they finally sent me a quote offering $89 for one device and $69 for the other. The customer executive I spoke to in their purchasing division was not customer friendly at all. The lady was argumentative and hung up on me before I could even say anything. I was just told that my phones did not work well, which was not true. So, watch out before you deal with them!

cashforiphones sent me a quote of $197.00 for my phone. THEY REFUSED TO RETURN MY PHONE, when I wanted to reject their $77.00 payment to my PayPal account. Seriously! My phone was in excellent condition. I could understand if they sent a reduced value, but honestly $77.00?!! Waited 30 minutes on hold to talk to a representative who basically said they have recycled my phone and I can't get it back. So, I didn't have any other option than taking their $77 offer.
Stay away! Don鈥檛 waste your time on a never ending hold in order to talk to someone at cashforiphones!!
As with all the other reviewers… I, too, was quoted a wonderful price at cashforiphones. Then, in the end I was given a pretty bad offer.. Tried for days to contact customer service, but ended up waiting for hours on hold to talk to someone…. They need to hire more people in their customer support…..ultimately, I gave up because I don't have that much time to waste on them… made a bad decision when sending my phone to cashforiphones.com.

Cashforiphones.com offered me $192 for an iPhone 3g in excellent condition. I sent it to them, and a month later received an email stating that they were going to pay me $80 for it, and I had seven days to contact them to accept or reject their offer. I made several calls to them, I sent them an email (twice) telling them that I did not accept their offer and wanted my phone back. No response. I suspect that they never intend to answer the phone, because that鈥檒l take away all the unnecessary holding for 30+ minutes and that way. They can also use it as an excuse to say that I never contacted them and accepted their low-ball offer.

Few days ago, I found Cashforiphones. It seemed to offer good prices for Iphones. Their online system quoted me $281 for my IPhone 5s. Because it seemed like a reasonable price, I sent my phone to them. Within a couple days of sending in my phone, I got an email saying that my check, for $110, was on the way. I sent back an email asking them about the original quoted price. I was told that if I had not liked the offer, I should have responded within 3 days of receiving their new offer. But I never received such a mail.
After a couple of emails going back and forth, I was told to call and talk to their purchasing department. I feel like I could have managed to get my phone back, or even get a better offer, had I gotten through the super long waiting times on the phone. I think I was on hold for more than 25 minutes, before I finally gave up, in hopes of calling another time when they're not that busy. As it turns out, they are always very busy, and the long waiting times are practically unavoidable. I wish I had been more patient on the phone to actually be able to talk to someone. Therefore, I do not recommend this website to others.

cashforiphones quoted me "up to $253鈥?for my phone. It was mint, only 3mths old, in the case the whole time, and no wear or scuffs at all. I know this because I looked at it thoroughly before checking the quote online. When cashforiphones received my phone, they said it was only worth $95. What confuses me is that they said the phone was in a 鈥渇airly good condition鈥? That鈥檚 a pretty petty amount to pay for any phone that is still working and in a 鈥渇airly good condition鈥? I called to have it returned, but they said they couldn't as it was already processed and the check sent out. I even asked to speak with a manager, but they refused. What a bad customer service! All of this, AFTER going through the long hold times for speaking to someone!!

Casforiphones sent me a box to securely ship my Samsung phone to them which was quoted at $210. Upon receiving the phone, they took 10 days to process it, all the while, coming up with various reasons why my phone isn't in perfect condition. Later, they proceeded to credit $90 into my PayPal account, without informing me about it at all.
I could not understand what really happened so I called them up. I also emailed my complaint about this whole confusion. It took 4 days for management at cashforiphones to respond to my concerns. The excuse that they gave was that the market for my phone had gone down and that $90 was all it was worth. She also said that my phone charger would cost them considerable amounts of money if they had to replace it. In the end, I was not able to get my phone back or more money out of the company. The customer care executives never really gave satisfying replies and were very slow.

SCAM — do NOT use these people!!! Their online quote based on very concrete specifics was $119 for an iPad 2 64G with cracked screen. After waiting for about a month for the mailer, I sent it in and they emailed me back saying they would give me $75. NOT GOOD – DO NOT USE www.cashforiphones.com!

I wish I had found these cashforiphones reviews before I sold my three smart phones to them. I used their website to search for the value of my phones, and it estimated a value of $108 for each.
I packaged and mailed them right away because it was a pretty good deal. After having patiently waited for a couple of weeks, I decided to call to inquire. After staying on hold for almost half an hour, I was told that I will be receiving an email from them with the final quotes and all the related information. They also told me that they will require about 2-3 business days to evaluate my phones and make the payment via PayPal. I was pretty happy at this point because everything seemed to be working out pretty well. Little did I know that my happiness was short lived. Within the next couple of days, I received three emails from them; each with different order number attached to it. To my surprise, there was only one payment of $66 that was being invoiced. I called the customer service again, only to stay on hold for 45 minutes this time around. Once the waiting period was over, and I got to talk to an actual person, he told me that was no mistake and that the value paid was for of all three phones.
When I tried to explain the whole thing that was going on with my order, he simply gave me an excuse that the value of the phones change daily. I went back to cash for iphones.com and it is still quoting $108 per phone! I am beyond annoyed! All I can say is that you have to completely look into all your options before falling for a scam like this one.

Cashforiphones is the website that is good in quoting high prices and at the end, leaving its customers with maybe 40% (if you're lucky) of the actual quoted amount. Their customer service is bad! If you do end up dealing with them, do not expect to get someone to help you right away. You have to claim your spot by first going through their very long hold time, then getting transferred between departments and finally getting hung up on.
If you find yourself in such a situation, just know that it will not be pleasant.

Cashforiphones dropped their offer considerably for 2 Samsung phones that I recently sent to them. They told me that the decrease in value was due to excessive wear and scratches. This was shocking to me since the 2 phones that were sent to them were only 8 months old!!!
Both the phones had screen covers on them from day one. I even called them and it took over an hour to get to talk to them. I asked them to return my phones, but they refused to do that. I was supposed to get $280 for both phones, but ended up getting only $180. I'm really disappointed with their service. Try to avoid them. This company misleads people.

I, like almost everyone else, was scammed by cashforiphones. They quoted me $180 for my HTC device. Immediately after sending in my device, I received an email saying that following an inspection, they would now give me $95 for it. After emailing my rejection notice and asking for the phone to be returned, I did not receive an email until almost 3 days later. They informed me then, that I needed to call in to either accept or reject the offer of $95. of course I called in and sat through the long holding time in order to talk to someone in the purchasing department. I sent Cashforiphones an immaculate Samsung Galaxy S4 with the promise of getting about $160.00. Finally, they sent me a check for $73.00, which I never cashed, for obvious reasons. I tried to get them to return my phone, but all I got was an answering machine if I was lucky enough to survive their hour-long hold time. I never got an opportunity to talk to someone! Please stay away from these people.

cashforiphones is a website that is operated with a well planned trick. They cited me $250 for my iPhone 5. after that, they paid me just $95.00. When I called their"Client Service" to inquire about the change of amounts, they guaranteed that it has been sent through email and i may find it in my spam folder. Then they put my call on hold for around 25 minutes and the call got disconnected. I am really irritated with their customer service facility!
