BUYER BEWARE WITH THE CAR SHIELD SCAM! I called this company to ask them a few questions and for 2 weeks they bombarded me with multiple follow-up calls per day. They are relentless when it comes to sales. I decided to take one of their calls and purchased a vehicle warranty after what seemed too good to be true. My policy was in place for 27 days and I began hearing a vibrating and clanking noise in the engine in my Mercedes E350. I took my car to the dealer and was told there were a number of issues that needed to be repaired. One was a problem with an engine mount which is covered by this warranty. The Car Shield appraiser talked to the Mercedes dealer and most of my claims were rejected except for the $1300 engine mount issue. The appraiser assured the dealer this specific repair would be covered. A few minutes later, I took a call from the appraiser. He sounded like a person trying to validate his job of rejecting claims to maximize his profit. I felt like I was being deposed in a court. He asked question after question and then asked me to provide the entire repair history of my car for 2020. Fortunately, my dealer has all of it; Mostly wear and tear stuff. I left my car at the shop thinking the engine mount would be covered. It took over 3 days for them to review my history and reject 100% of the repairs. It appears the appraiser trying to validate his job caught me on a technicality and used my words against me. According to appraiser this was a pre-existing condition even though I had noticed the clanking less than 15 days ago. The reality is they could say everything is a pre-existing condition and never fix anything. I asked Car Shield to have the appraiser who rejected my claim call me. Of course, I never got a call back. I canceled this junk warranty after 27 days. Here is the beauty of all this and what I explained to their high- pressure sales and customer service reps who begged me not to leave them. I actually bought another vehicle warranty at the same time and 2 of the repairs were approved. They claim they are #1 rated but go to their Facebook and notice they disable their reviews for obvious reason Their Better Business Bureau profile has 752 reviews and a 1-star rating. The proof is in the pudding.

Car Shield refused to pay the emergency repairs to my car. While I was an active policy holder. To add insult to injury once I was denied the coverage I immediately cancelled my policy. In order to do some damage control ,I was offered a solution that wpyld reduce the total amount of my repair bill. What they failed to inform me , was that in order to speak on my behalf (with the auto mechanic shop) to reduce the part costs.
They would continue to bill my debit card, the full policy amount, monthly in order to provide this service.
That being said, not only did this "service" not only did not reduce the parts price whatsoever, they were able to succesfully billvme for an additional 2 months. As an Honarably Discharged , 100% Service Disabled Air Force Veteran of the Gulf War I live on a strict budget. This Car Shield Company is a scam dedicated to taking advantage of innocent consumers. The total damage I suffered is $2000 dollars with zero benefit including months of the run around, please look into this company 's indecent and fraudulent business practices.

ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO… TAKE 1999 LEXUS RX 300 TO DEALERSHIP PER AMERI/CARSHLD EXCUSES FOR 3 WEEKS TAKE VEHICLE TO MR. Heed the warnings from other Posters. CarShield is [not] insurance. All similar companies use the same model–it's also identical or similar to home service warranties.
Read contract exclusions before you call to subject yourself to a fast-talking "used car salesperson" type verbal assault. Focus on specific exclusions and "what if's" that favor the company not the consumer.

This is the worst company ever, they take so long to answer the phone the shops cannot wait on hold, they will not refund you money if they do not pre-approve the work.
I called in for the shop and spent 4 hours on hold waiting, I used another phone in the shop called in just to be told I have been on hold in the wrong department. Once i finally get a hold of someone they denied my claim even though i had the top policy,
When I called in to cancel the policy the representative said and I quote "You ain't had nothing better to do than hold yo phone on hold for 4 hours.", then she said "Yo car aint going to get fixed over night" when i told her mine was already waiting just to have the part placed she then said, "That ain't how it works with Car Shield"
As a full time nursing student in an accelerated program, with a full time and a part time job i have plenty i could have done but seeing as i need my car i made the time to sit there.

The rep tell me about the plan started at a high price & everytime I told him I needed to think about it he kept lowering the price. Then when I did agree to it he waited till the end to tell me about the waiting period. If I knew that I probably wouldnt sign up for it.
Plus I am thinking about calling on Monday & cancelling it

CarShield commercials say they fix all Repairs under their warranty. I recently took my car into my dealership to have a catalytic converter replaced (not covered) but was told I had a leak in a transmission seal (covered). The Colorado representative refused to approve the repair since the seal was the wrong color. What???? I have never had anyone but my dealership work on my car so I am not sure what color has to do with repairing a leak. I am not getting the product I paid for and do not recommend spending the money.

Having to wait 4 days for a 2 hour motor mount job is unacceptable when the part was available the same day at the dealer or many other auto part stores. Also making my service advisor wait on the phone for 53 minutes for job approval is also not acceptable. Very dissatisfied with the service of car shield.

Didn't cover anything
We purchased in 1/2020. Paid every month for five months. Took our car in to the shop in May for minor repairs to the AC and emissions. They wouldn't cover anything. When my husband purchased the policy, he told them he wanted something that covered everything because he works out of town and didn't want me to have to worry. They recommended a policy based on what we wanted and then it covered nothing. We cancelled and will find someone who really wants our business and isn't misleading with the product they are selling.

First let me say if I could give CarShield and my representative who took care of me today (Mark from Missouri) more than 5 stars I would. Mark took excellent care of me, he's a great person to have on the CarShield team and should be promoted to a higher position immediately. Separate from Mark the coverage that I signed up with is beyond amazing. It's honestly hard to believe what it covers also the deductible price. I'm absolutely amazed with the deal I got and would truly recommend everyone to sign up as well. I used to see the commercials and think "they're just paid actors ofcourse saying what I want to hear". Now that I have signed up and joined for myself I realized they are telling the absolute truth about this company. Now I want to get on a commercial and rave about how true everything was and how good I feel to be covered by CarShield.

I had a problem with my car, was able to prove I was past my waiting period on the car and yet was denied to have my car fixed. I will not recommend carshield to anyone!!

Every time I ask a dealership or a business if they would except car shield and met a payment they said yes but they prefer her not to because y鈥檃ll haggle too much and a person like me is respect the left with the difference in the bill
