I bought a BMW 435d Xdrive back in January. I was sold the car under the impression that the only issues it had were some defects in the bodywork of the car. It had small marks due to being left under a tree for some time. That was totally fine as I planned to have it detailed in an attempt to remove the marks.
The first problem appeared on my drive home. I had not even left derby before a warning light came on. When I arrived home I had it checked and the Air mass Flow meter was faulty. Lucky enough this was covered under the third party warranty that had been provided.
Due to the car having almost no service history I thought it was best to get it serviced. Firstly, the state of the air filter was ridiculous. Secondly, turns out I did the drive home with tyre pressures half of the what was required. After them being pumped up to correct pressure, a tyre bulge appeared. Went to replace this tyre. And turns out the tyres were the wrong size for the car. Ridiculous right? So instead of only 1 tyre needing replaced. I had to replace all 4 so that the speed ratings matched due to it being Xdrive. (Tyres not covered under warranty)
To make things even better, I was told that the wheels were refurbished and when the tyres were fitted the amount of paint that flaked off was ridiculous. I used to work in a tyre garage and it was clear that it wasn鈥檛 their fault.
Finally, the reason I鈥檓 writing this review today. Th car has been having issues starting recently. I assumed this was just due to Diesel engines struggling a bit in the cold. Today when I had to get AA to come recover me, turns out the battery in the car is a complete pile of garbage. The required amps for a car of this size is 850amps. The battery in the car was cheap looking 510 amp. Battery was also not covered by warranty.
All of these hidden issues indicate to me a few things. I think they knew the tyre had a bulge and deflated it so it wasn鈥檛 noticeable. (Runflat tyres btw). I also think that this cheap battery was just chucked in to save a few quid.
From my experience I hope everyone reads this and stays well clear. I understand that buying used cars brings the risk of some issues. But this has all happened within 3 months of purchase.
Also the car has only done a little over 40k miles so not like the car is past it鈥檚 best.

Not only was the car I purchased dangerous to drive but not one of the repairers that I took the car too was willing to do the work when they found out that the warranty was with warrantywise. During my two months with this car it was only on the road for a few scary days during this time I asked the dealer several times for help and although he talks a good job nothing was ever done that rectified the problem forcing me to dispose of the car at a great loss
