I wanted to rent a car for 3 weeks from February 23 through March 16. My travel plans got delayed by one day, so I needed to pick up the car this upcoming 24th instead of the 23rd. CarRentals.com said my choices were to pick up the car on the 23rd or cancel the reservation and book a new reservation for nearly 2x the price. Nobody is giving me a straight answer why I can't just modify the upcoming reservation by one day. Totally inflexible. I asked them what would happen if a customer needed a one day delay due to a terrorist attack or a natural disaster. They said there was no exception to their policies. No modifications allowed. I offered to pay for the rental in advance. They said it was too late, since I had to do that when I first booked it. I have never experienced a rental car company so hostile to their own customers.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They actually stole my money. I booked with Dollar and had to cancel reservation and even though Dollar canceled with NO PROBLEMS what so ever, Carrentals.com kept my money and refused to return it for absolutely no reason. The manager I spoke to made no sense whatsoever. It sounded like he was reading off a script the entire time. DON'T BOOK HERE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

CarRentals.com WAS one of the best sites before but that's not the case anymore. Their choices went to support very bad sites, such as the biggest scam of all u-save. I stopped using them awhile ago after their customer service was like "well, we can't help you with that". CarRentals.com is not good anymore, I don't recommend them at all. Try different sites.

There was no reservation under my name in their system. Which I was charged for. So there was no "reservation" for me to be late for. My flight was delayed because of a sick passenger. That is 100% out of my hands on being "late". On top of having to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a walk in rental because they didn't have my reservation from you guys that I ALREADY PAID YOU FOR. Horrible customer service, both companies blaming the other and now the customer is at fault here? Your representative told me in multiple occasions I would receive a refund for the price difference in vehicles. $190 give or take with taxes. I honestly, in the name if customer service, thought I would receive a full refund. I will be blasting this entire experience on Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, and any other social media platform I can find. At the very least I deserve the $190 refund of price difference.

Do not pay CarRentals.com in advance. If they cancel your reservation for any reason you will not be given a refund. They lure you in but be very careful about the fine print on terms and conditions. I have dealt with every domestic car rental company and without a doubt Carrentals.com is the most dishonest and unprofessional. They will keep your money even if you never got the car that you paid for.

I booked a car with locks on car rentals.com and showed up at the Miami Airport early for my rental but a little after midnight. The shuttle for Fox never came and when I contacted then the next day they said the shovel is not run 24 hours like the car rentals.com email set. When I contact car rentals.com, they contacted Fox and verify that the shuttle does run 24 hours, even though it doesn't. I called Fox back again only to find out that their agents will tell you there is no 24-hour shuttle, but the recording says there is a 24%. Talking to a supervisor at car rentals.com, that is Travelocity, they've basically put me on trial I said that if I couldn't prove everything that I said that it was too bad. I explained they already had extremely poor reviews from Fox, only about 30% positive on their own side, and if they already had bad information, they basically didn't care. Supervisor was short impatient an unsympathetic. Here's my question, what's the point of renting through a third party company if, when you have problems, they simply say it's the car rental companies fault. The car rental company says it's a third-party agencies problem. Avoid car rentals.com. I've used them for over 10 years but this is the last time

Carrentals.com stated that the price will be $139 including taxes and fees. It was stated that we will pickup at the airport in Cancun. It took 2 hours to get the car and it was downgraded to a compact. We were forced to pay about $20 extra for airport fees. The manager didn't care that the reservation from carrentals was $139. He said if you don't want a car then that is fine. My kids and wife had been waiting for 2 hours so we paid the extra $20. Cancun is the worst place to rent a car. It is like working with a timeshare salesman when you finally get to the front of the line. Absolutely terrible.

For the second time in three months I used carrentals.com and received a reservation only to find that there was NO car available when I got there (Hertz) and I had to start from scratch in the Hertz parking lot. Never use Carrentals.

This car rental site leads you to believe you getting a good deal all lies if you have a debit card you are screwed try to rent a car from Routes in Atlanta they are so disorganized that's a whole story in itself but they don't accept debit cards only major credit cards so basically Carrentals kept my money and I never received a rental please read the fine fine print cause they are nothing but legalized thieves stay far away

Rented through carrentals.com on Sept 21,2020 in Las Vegas. The rental company Hertz on E. Sahara in Las Vegas said they tried to call and let me know they did not have a rental car available. They said there was not a phone number on the reservation from carrentals.com. The Hertz csa Michael said they didn't even know if they would have a car coming back in that day. Said to call him back around two pm. I called back and was put on hold for about 5 minutes than the line went dead. When I call back several times later no one answered. I contacted carrentals.com and could only communicate with their chat bot. So the only other way to communicate was to email, only received a canned answer. Never, Never rent from this company or Hertz. Would not recomend.

Hired a car through this joke of a company, car wasn't available so I was downgraded, 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting for a refund of my own money I'm owed.
They don't reply to email there's nobody to speak to via telephone, if u do call the call centres they say u need to contact customer services but unfortunately there's no contact number so email with no reply's is the only way.
The worst company I have ever come across in my entire life u would never use them again and I will go out of my way to make sure other genuine customer use a different company who listen to there customers.

Recently rented a car from them but when I arrived to pick up my car they said they accidentally over booked and there was nothing they can do for me. I had to cancel my roadtrip and no one tried to call me before to let me know of the situation. To top it off I showed up at the time to pick up the rental and they opened late so technically didnt get into the building until almost an hour after my rental should of started. I tried contacting customer service and they were not helpful at all. Theh said if I was able to get another car rental that day they would have MAYBE covered the difference if it was more. I tried to ask for some kind of credit for the big waste of time and the far drive it took me to get there and they said no… that they would just make a note in there system so they can better serve people. It was so frustrating. I will never rent from this company and earn others not to either

I used CarRental.com to rent a car to travel to my daughter's wedding. When I went to pick up the car the location I was directed to via my "reservation" was closed. In the end I did not have a rental car and Hertz was unable to help because I used this third party. Thanks for nothing! Don't use this entity!! Jerks!! NEVER AGAIN and I'm gonna tell everyone I can!

Horrible! Rented a car from The Ace rent a car for about 7 days vacation. Purchased Allianz car insurance via this site. The ace found scratch on the running board but insurance refused to completely cover it. Now i have to pay another about 500$ for that scratch. Saved about 20$ from the beginning to lose another 500$ at the end. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Booked a car online, prepaid for the reservation. When I arrived to pick up the car, the company (Nextcar/Allied) had my reservation but did not show it as prepaid and charged me double what I'd already paid carrentals.com. Carrentals.com agent assured me I'd be refunded the larger amount I paid at the pickup, but now they want my bank account info and all kinds of dodgy stuff. I am disputing through my credit card company since this company cannot or will not stand behind its service. In the meantime I've paid 3x over.

Terrible! Never again. They said we had a rental through one company -Fox- out in the middle of friggin nowhere. We get all the way out there only to be told that car rental.com decided to sell our rental contract to a completely different company. Fox was rude and not apologetic. So we then had to drive several miles to the next company, who then proceeded to tell us we now had to come up with a very large deposit that was not communicated to us upon initial reservation because of course Fox was different than Ace, the new company. They also proceeded to tell us they needed two different credit cards because apparently the one used to already pay the first week wouldn't work for a deposit or ongoing payments because it was a bank debit not a credit card. Since when does Visa and MasterCard by major banks not work?! None of this was communicated to us prior so we wasted two hours of our time for nothing, and now car rentals is saying they won't refund our money so we are going to have to fight them. Trust me you are better off going with reputable companies like Budget, National and Avis directly or you'll get scammed too.

Don't use this site! While other companies are willing to work with you during the Covid19 Pandemic! Carrentals.com is looking to fill its pockets. When a whole state is shut down, they still expect you to travel there and use your rental car. Pay the extra and save yourself the headaches!

Don't book a rental car using CarRentals it's a scam. They say if you booked with them you save money on your rental which is bull$#*!. They take money from you and when you go to pick up the car you still have to pay more money for the car. You don't save $#*!. I'm mad because they took money from me and I didn't even get the rental car. Now I see why everyone say don't use this stupid CarRentals. com to try to pay less.

I have been using carrental.com for years and have rented a lot through them. We decided to cancel our trip on the day we were suppose to travel due to the pandemic in order to be safe and we called and they would not waive the $55 fee. We did not want to cancel we decided it would be safer and better not to travel. If it was in regular times when there was no pandemic I would understand and accept their policy. But all airlines, and hotels were very understanding and even if they could not refund our money at least we could reuse it in the future. But carrental would not even suggest that. I do not think this a good customer service approach. So I think I will not ever use them again.

Great original price on the car for 4 days. The trouble came when I asked if I could return the car 7-8 hours later in the day. Obviously I expected to pay an extra days hire for this time as it took me past the extra 24 hours. What I didn't expect was the company to say that they would double the price of the whole four days for the ability to add an extra 7-8 hours on.

As many we were attracted to book a car hire via Rentalcars.com for their interesting prices. That was a mistake! Booking the car was user friendly but when it came to making the payment problems started. Booking from Europe our bank initially blocked the payment as they thought it was a fraudulent transaction. After several tries our payment succeeded but the app still showed that booking was not confirmed and we didn't receive any confirmation by email within reasonable time after trying to make the booking. As we needed a car we made other arrangements locally. 3 days before the car – which believed was not booked – had to be picked up we received a mail with basic information. As we went in the rentalcars.com app the next day to check and cancel the booking it was too late (cancellation has to be at least 48 hours before pick up) and the cancellation fee was the total amount (in line with their T&Cs). What looked as a good deal ended up to be a terrible one. I wrote the customer service and send them all the screen shots to proof the apparent bug in the system but they were very unhelpful and just referred to T&Cs. Be careful.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM CARRENTALS AS POSSIBLE!!! They're a second party company with no accountability to their "customers". Carrentals.com took our money based on some clause in the terms of agreement and refused to reimburse us or provide us with any compensation. It's impossible to get any one the phone they will give you the run around for weeks. The company will tell you that a manager will get back to you about your case but that is a lie. In the end no one from Carrentals.com will call or help you they will just send you an email telling about basically thanks for giving us your money have a great day. It's also impossible to leave a review negative or positive on the actual Carrentals.com website this company shouldn't exist it's a complete scam.
