hi I tried to get home insurance with carp but the only insurance company said I have to get auto insurance and home insurance together , they refuse to give me the service.this is the benefit you guys looking after retired peoples ?, I don't want to get any more service from you, just I lost 20 dollars I am not worry about it, good day

I was sent a bill from this company while dealing with my mother's passing.
I called them to explain no one ever agreed to sign up for this.
They ha a supervisor call me back 8 months after my mother's death to play me a recording of the conversation their salesperson had with my late mother.
My mother declined the service, the salesperson coerced my elderly mother out of personal information. Then when salesperson asked my mother if information was correct, my mother responded "yeah". Salesperson asked was this a yes, my mother said yes.
My mother said yes to the question of whether or not the information was correct, not to the service. 8 months of overdue bills accruing interest from a grieving family.
Shameful business practices to say the least..
Shame on anyone who works or supports an organization such as this.

Not sure I will ever get to know whether this is good or bad, as I've been trying to join for many months. There is always a problem- website is down for maintenance, or it simply won't allow you to join. Appears to be an inept organization. Not sure why, but I expected more (and the bar was very low- just let me sign up!). I have seen other reviews, now, and expect I'll run the other way.

I became a new member this month and let me tell you I have had nothing but trouble with this company. First of all, I registered my account which states that I am a supporter and not a member. The expiry date on the membership is date in 1969. I was nine then. I "chatted" with their live chat three times attempting to fix this situation with no luck. They blamed me by saying that I registered a dormant account. How can I register a dormant account?? The girl that I was chatting with finally told me to contact customer service. Secondly, I attempted to reach them by telephone. The telephone number 1-833-211-2377 is no longer in order. Finally, I sent them 3 messages requesting their assistance. I have not heard back from them nor do I expect to. We belong to a very large association in Toronto and I will be letting them know of my experience in order for them to make up their own minds on whether to join this scam or not.

Took over 3 weeks to enroll Then 3 months later tried to change my email address 3 times telling them that my old email would not be usable in a few days I tried 3 times to change it No response what so ever Now I have no communication with them at all I lost my $$$ I just cannot figure out what is with this group of SENIORS I guess Maybe its time to get some younger blood in there to assist them If they what more business This is supposed to be for helping them (seniors) Not giving them more STRESS I think it is time for CARP.CA to declare Bankruptcy and move on

They sound good over the phone! but when I received a bill today for a one min long distance call for almost 10$ I was not impressed. I hope for the poor guy on the other end of the phone never calls me again with their bull ……. !

Wish I could give no star at all ! I joined the organization with the hope of getting a better deal on car insurance. First CARP charged my credit card twice . The process of having the second charge reversed took forever.
Then I spoke with the insurance company that Carp members deal with – the McLellan group – and the annual premium they quoted me was fully double what I was paying previously ! Never had an accident – not even a parking ticket ! What is this scam ? and why is Carp bragging about discounted car insurance for seniors through this firm ? It is simply a bald faced lie ! All I can think is that CARP feeds it's membership to these places who think seniors are a gullible uneducated group. I will not be renewing.

Carp has charged my credit card twice and has not provided me with anything. When I called to complain they charged me again. I have had to cancel my credit card to stop the insanity. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.

Apparently CARP gave my information to comperaction and now we are getting phone calls from them regarding an outstanding Bill. WE AT NO POINT SIGNED UP FOR THIS .CARP needs to look at these scam artists and eliminate them. I guess my only path is to file complaints with the various government agencies and the BBB regarding this practice.My disappointment with what should be an advocacy group for seniors and an unethical group of scammers is huge.

Update. I talked to comperaction and they reviewed my information and took me off the service and waived the charges. Both they and CARP need to give this system a reconsideration as a marketing tool especially when dealing with seniors.

This review is based simply from a cold call i received…. i let the gentleman politely know i was not interested. Without a goodbye or thank you, he hung up on me. That kind of experience over a simple phone call just screams of scam…. i would stay away from this, looks like a perfect system to prey on seniors.

For a company that portrays themselves as an advocate for seniors they are at the forefront of scamming seniors. Grandma and Grandpa recently had their long distance carrier switched to a CARP approved CompareAction Long-distance plan. The problem is that both Grandma and Grandpa are suffering from dementia. They are unable to make many decisions themselves. We had their Phone & TV accounts froze so that changes can not be made without our consent. So how did CARP manage to change their long distance carrier without our knowledge? CARP made a COLD CALL offering their magazine for free. The only way to get the free magazine was to switch to their (CARP) Long Distance plan, which they did unknowingly

They are taking advantage of seniors that don't have the ability to make proper financial decision for themselves. In fact Grandma and Grandpa don't even know how to use a calling card. They actually threw it out with the trash. They don't remember the telephone call or signing up for CARP. All they know is that they got a free magazine that showed up in the mail.

We are really talking about a small amount of money here, but its the principle of the matter. Carp should be ashamed of themselves.

I have been a member since the beginning of this year. I have not received my membership card only a temporary one that is so large it does not fit in a wallet. Also Swiss Chalet has no idea about the 2 can dine for $25 at their restaurants and they don't even have a code to punch it in. Also I contacted them a month ago about both of the above and still have not heard back from them. So it that's how you treat your new members than I won't bother renewing at the end of this membership!

Based on the conversation I had today with the cancellation person, I wish that I could give zero stars. Disgusting!!! He actually fought with me telling me that I had requested a service during a conversation I had with him in July, 2017. Do they think that we are seniors with dementia?? I am 58 and remember the conversation very well. I told him the same thing that I told him today. We did not sign up for long distance service and requested that they stop the service immediately. He applied pressure at that time and I agreed to consider the information that he had given me and get back to them if I decided to switch. The FIGHT, and I mean fight continued for 10 minutes until I asked to speak to his manager. He told me that the manager would get back to me within 48 hours. He also told me that my credit rating would be impacted if I did not pay the $46 that I have never been billed for. This outfit has a website that appears legit, but it has scam written all over it. Stay as far back as possible! I am totally comfortable providing this review in advance of speaking with the manager. The interaction with the person I spoke to today was the worst customer service experience that I have ever had.

I have been joining Carp for years but I didn't subscribe to the magazine. The first year I didn't get a membership card and the next time I emailed them and they couldn't find which chapter I belonged to, I went back and forth with emails and finaly phoned and found the area in Durham region.
Last year I went through the same thing again and I have my membership card but I can't renew it. they have my email address but I can't renew my membership. They can't find it. It's as if I don't exist. I have given up since I am not getting much benifit from it and I am not going through this again. I entered all the correct information and it was rejected over and over again.
