I bought an item from Carousell on a site for janinemiqui. I was asked to transfer money directly into her bank account. As it was a small amount, despite being cautious, I transferred the money on 20th December 2020. Despite contacting the seller many times, the item did not arrive. It was unfortunate that the item I had ordered was something I really wanted, the small cost was secondary. The only way to communicate was by chat, and then, just after Christmas, nothing. I kept trying to contact the seller and eventually contacted Carousell complaints. They were sympathetic but apparently have little control over the seller. Eventually, after sending another unanswered chat, I threatened legal action. My goods arrived having been posted 3 days before despite the seller telling me (by chat) that the parcel had been sent two weeks ago. I won't be doing any dealings with this particular seller and warn anyone reading this to be extremely careful. I will have second thoughts about the whole Carousell organisation.

I am a subscriber of their pro business account service. However when I emailed in to enquire about the absence of a feature (which allows you to disable carousell's protection for payment mode) that all other subscriber seem to enjoy, I was met with incredulously incoherent responses from their staff, Lay.

Over a period of two months since I raised my issue, Lay communicated the following:
1) Carousell's protection is default and cannot be disabled even though the option to do so is there
2) When evidence was provided to contradict point 1), he suggested the typical software fix which involves restarting your PC/phone or changing browsers. These did not help.
3) When I feedback about point 2), Lay went back to talk about point 1)
4) This went around in circles where the final straw came when Lay suggested I check with Apple store on this. WTH does Apple HAS TO DO WITH CAROUSELL'S ISSUE?
5) Feeling pissed off, I asked for a refund for the payment I have made for my subscription but was dump with a typical cut & paste wall of text which states that it is non-refundable.

Each nonsensical reply from Lay took 5 DAYS.

Now, you offered a service but did not manage to deliver it completely. And when the customer asks for a refund/partial refund, you said no. Does that make Carousell a sammer company by itself?

So my dear friends who are reading this do not waste your time selling any item on Carousell. The most confusing and contradictory site. I posted a picture of some fishes in their aqua community and my account was suspended and their logic was hilariously lame

The support staff email me stating the aquarium community have different admins and they are different but they are inside caraousell! And they ask me to contact these admins from where? After suspending accounts they ask me to contact admins lol
COVID truly has affected some people in distinct ways.

My ad was removed for duplicates. But it wasn't a duplicate as I simply removed an old non-performing ad with a new one. And they seemed it like a crime. Does it make sense at all?

They blatantly allow fakes / replicas to be sold to increase transactions, and this is extremely unethical and illegal at the same time. Don't bother filing a report to them, as they don't give a damn.

Understand that duplicates and irrelevant words especially tagging f server all brands in listing is NOT allowed but there are Many seller still doing this.

My listing was removed due to duplicates n tagging but I see MANY MANY others doing the same and their listing are still avaliable after listed for months?
In addition when you report such Similar cases they said is ok double standard?

Carousel s getting more commercialized I wish they can closed down the apps soon.

I used carousell quite often but not anymore, especially after my recent experience with them. I bought a cake from one of their sellers. Made full payment and an offer on the app at least 3 days before. Seller was mostly non-responsive, even though she was online, did not even provide collection details on actual day until i texted her quite a few times. She cancelled on the actual day when i was already on my way down. Reached out to Carousell support, the CS team informed me that all they can do is issue a warning. Reached out to their CEO Lucas and Sui Rui but they seem to agree with such behavior and policy.

Not trustworthy and safe at all. As a new user, the site doesn't provide any safety tips to protect yourself. I got refund scammed (buyer: pokedude) as a new seller and support team all claimed no business, said they couldn't help me because its its between buyer and seller terms even though I clearly did not agree to be scammed. Worse part was that the buyer had a history of other scams and a history of being a rude habitual liar to protect his reputation. I also brought this up to the support team but they seem to pretend like nothing happened. Carousell claims to promote a safe environment for buyers/sellers but clearly its all just for show. Super frustrating and disappointing. They wouldn't even remove his false review on my seller page and would constantly try to deflect my email requests to look into it.

Supported this app with app purchase of SGD1000 worth of credits, and it just disappear over night. Found out later that the credits(coins) have an expiry, and kindly asked for an extension, but they refuse.

I could tolerate the frequent buggyness of the app and error messages, but this high handed forfeiture of SGD 1000 is too much of a blow.

Hence serious sellers, i recommend other platforms like Q10 or lazada who handles such disputes with much more fairness and understanding

Account deactivated due to suspicious fraud activity when i have been a regular seller for > 5 years?
Some of my buyers have already paid up and we're in the midst of arranging a meet up location and my account just got deactivated out of the blue, if police reports were to be made against me it's all down to Carousell's poor handling of this case, unlike these idiots who work at Carousell I have always uphold my own values and not scam my customers by having sold items in the buyers hands. I don't know how they're getting new seed investments with such unpleasant experience and I sincerely hope the 3 founders of this $#*!ty company go to hell.

i was scammed before on Carousell, now they have the Carousell Protection which promised to protect the buyers. So basically they won鈥檛 release the money to seller until buyer received and accepts the items.

However, not all sellers use that.

As a seller, I came to realised that Carousell have drifted away from its original concept of a platform to sell off your used items. Instead they鈥檙e now turning it into a platform whereby who pays more gets more views and rank higher in the listings!

They used to provide free 鈥渂umps鈥?whereby you can bump your listings up for free but now everything is about money. What to promote your listing? Pay money. What to bump your listing? Pay money.

Who on earth who wants to sell off their used items will pay to sell them off?

Carousell Singapore's customer service is slow to respond and when they do, the reply is inconsistent though it is pertaining to a same issue. Dealing with them is frustrating. You will be better off using the Gumtree app

i purchased and paid for a iphone xs max from this scam bag (happy1961balls) beware everyone this seller is very dishonest and he should be banned from being on this sight for ever, i paid him asking price expecting him to be for real he is not he is far from that wont send said phone saying it was damaged in his add its like brand new and demands i send him more money for another phone that i didnt agree to purchase from him beware he is a piece of work .Grrrrr…

I bought an branded road bike and found out the bike is fake after i bring it to a authorized dealer for a service .

Customer service cant do anything and worst ever…they dont even block or barred the seller.. .. seller can delete all the conversations on the chat room after few weeks.

Carousell cant protect you !!! Seller has broken Carousell act which selling counterfiet goods.. but nothing they can do to protect you!!!

Very very angry and dissapointed

I was on Carousel for less than an hour trying to by some rare merchandise for a film I love. Then I forget my password and do some wrong sign ins while having to take captcha tests which I must of gotten wrong at some point. Only to find out that I鈥檓 no longer allowed to use my account despite the fact that I鈥檝e done nothing wrong.

I have been selling on Carousell for at least 7 years, with 500+ positive reviews.

Even though Carousell is just a platform for buyers and sellers, hence the experience gotten from there from transactions depend on the users themselves.

BUT Carousell customer service is atrocious. Every time you contact them for help regarding a transaction or a user's behaviour, they copy-paste a default response that says their platform has no control over transaction experience, to just post a review etc.. Or if you told them a user just left a terrible review for no reason whatsoever, that copy-paste default answer is the response.

Too many times the buyer themselves are scammers, buying your authentic item which they check on the spot, or you offer to go boutique with them to verify authenticity but they refuse, then leave the place. And then contact you days later to claim you sold a fake item.

These buyers most likely swapped out your authentic item for a fake, then demand refund for the fake, hence leaving them with the authentic item, PLUS your money. If you refuse to refund cos they checked long enough on the spot, or refuse to go boutique with you to verify authenticity, the buyer just leaves you bad review, or worst, make a police report over nonsense. What Carousell does? Default copy-paste answer. "Reviews are there to maintain integrity of platform" but the buyer themselves are cheating you!

My account is now restricted because of such a buyer, my years of building rep is gone because of that. Still waiting for Carousell response since a week ago. Submitted proof and all.

Those using this platform, don't get your hopes too high. It's basically you protecting yourself.

Got scammed in Australia buying a phone on site, other 4 sellers and buyers also got scammed by the same person. We got together and report to the police and carousell. Carousell took forever to reply and each and every time is the same"WE TAKE YOUR MATTER SERIOUSLY', WE ARE SORRY TO HEAR', WE ARE LOOKING INTO IT' and 'REPORT TO THE POLICE'. I told them i reported to the police, but as this happened on carousell what kind protection or compensation will they offer. Well, the answer is NOTHING!!.

As i got scammed and became more experience in judging a genuine seller or scammer. I reported many suspected seller whom tried to scam me but CAROUSELL DIDN'T DO ANY THING for a long time. As i followed the seller for another 2 weeks or so i noticed the seller account had been suspended. This proved that i was right, but carousell reluctant to suspend someone because they are toooooo concern about losing on seller or buyers. 'dorothy t' is right this site is full of scammers and carousell don't care, they only care about their pay day. If you are buying some thing valueable, don't buy from here. If anyone need to verify my story, i can give you some seller/buyer's details to contact.

I enjoyed using Carousell previously and its a great platform to sell stuff but recent months they are super rigid and @nal of duplicate listings. I respect their policies but I accidentally created duplicate listing and despite removing the duplicate listing immediately my account got suspended anyway.

On the other hand noticed quite a few sellers with listings that contain many irrelevant keywords like popular brands so their listings appeared when buyers search for those brands and this is against Carousell listing policies so I reported those listings but the admin replied that they have reviewed and it does not violate their listing rules. Either they have double standard policies treatment or they just nitpick users!

Irresponsible. I bought Chanel earrings that turned out to be fake. I made a police report and reported to Carousell. Gave them my police report number so they could verify. Guess what. They did not bother. Sellee is amovintagecollections, so dont be scam and forget using carousell.
