These folks abandoned my pool in mid winter without finishing it when it was already 4 months beyond the agreed drop dead date when I wouldn't pay the final payment up front for an unfinished pool. They in fact never compe6ed the prior phase for which I did pay in advance. They never supplied or installed essential equipment; they removed essential items to make it didicuylt for others to finish the pool. There were numerous pool functions that didn't work. The Spa wouldn't hold water! The in-floor cleaning system didn't work. No GFI's were installed along with other electrical safety issues. The master electrical panel was never properly installed and didn't function. Much of the plumbing had to be reworked to make the pool function properly. The finish is marred with deposits {due to there inability to start the pool after the plaster was installed } that cannot remove They used unlicensed electricians, did illegal plumbing, and created a nightmare for me. Then they sued me! The State Electrical Licensing Board, the State Plumbing Licensing Board, and the State General Contractors Board all cited them for improper work, Some off the subcontractors they hired were permanently bared from working in the State ever again; others were cited and warned. Carolina Pool Plastering itself was warned and fined, and had to sign a consent degree promising never to behave this way again. They are still suing me.
It's now almost two years and I still do not have a pool I can safely swim in; I am out of pocked almost $200k and am paying a lawyer to defend myself in court. Do you recall the story of the "Tar Baby" from Uncle Remus? This company is it!
When iI win in court they will likely default and then reopen under another name.
These are the worst people imaginable; find yourself another pool contractor or do without a pool.
