Pros:
– We were picked up on time
– No one tried to sell any extras
– Office was opened 45 minutes before official opening time
when returning the car (so we didn't need to rush at the airport)
– Everyone spoke decent English and was friendly
Cons:
– Had to pay 鈧?0 in advance in case we get a parking ticket or
something like that during our trip. Not necessarily Cargest's fault,
since I think it should have been mentioned on the booking site
(car was booked through a different site)
– The 鈧?0 were supposed to be refunded after four weeks. It took
them six weeks.
– I was told that I get a Honda Jazz or similar car. I got a Nissan
Micra which is not as good in my opinion but still decent
– Car was cleaned with some strange smelling stuff which was also
very sticky. Had to clean the steering wheel with a wet tissue.
There were obviously no real problems. After reading all the nightmare stories other people had with their rental services, I can only recommend Cargest. In the end we paid around 鈧?60 (including petrol + 鈧?0 for an extra insurance offered by the booking site) and drove the car for almost 1000km. I think that's quite good value.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who needs a care free car hire. The cheap prices are purely a tourist trap. If it鈥檚 too good to be true, it probably is!
We ended here via a Dutch broker. It鈥檚 a small local company with only one branch at Malaga airport. If you need another car because of a collision or simply because of a mechanical defect, you must travel back to Malaga airport from wherever you are on your own expense to pick up a second car. We had to do that with luggage and 3 small children. After we complained via e-mail the Dutch broker sent us flowers with apologies. But the rude and shameless local manager of CarGest sent us a abusing e-mail back calling us not being good parents!!!

We took photos of the damage, and next day drove to Cargest, for them to inspect the damage.
They gave us the all clear to carry on using the vehicle. Returned the vehicle at the end of the holiday, I asked the representive " what happens now and is there a cost to me"? He replied " no insurance will cover it "
About 4 weeks later, Cargest had taken from my Credit Card 拢450, for damage to headlight. Their photos taken 5 weeks after we had flown home, showing slight scuff marks to the headlight. They said any damage to a light on a rental car in Spain is illegal, so why did they allow us to carry on driving, and say it would be covered by insurance. I sent them our photo which shows NO damage whatsoever to the headlight.
And their agreement clearly states ( In English ) Not covered by insurance is Tyres and off road accidents..
Cargest reply " We have the car"
There was no damage at all to the headlight, when we returned the car.
STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.
Update 28/07/2017.
Just checked my Credit Card statement, they have now taken a second payment for 400 eurs, without any warning, or why they have taken it,
Credit card company dealing with both payments. My card has been cancelled.
I SAY AGAIN DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

From my Credit Card Company, money being refunded from Cargest.
Who said they should never have taken it in the first place.
But still waiting for the second amount to be refunded.
Credit Card Company say they just cant take money without first telling you why, but they did. watch this space.
