Career Step is easy to study on your own time and at your own pace. Material is excellent and lots of resources. Just for leaving a review I will receive a one month extension of time for my Medical Coding and billing course. Highly recommend them!

Nice to have full fill your dream

Career Step is an amazing option for busy people like me who work and have kids. You get to study at your own pace and take as long as you need until you get it. It takes the unneeded stress most schooling causes due to set deadlines and set class times. I would recommend Career Step to anyone trying to move up on their education and career.

I learned about career step through a military scholarship program, I am hard of hearing so when I found out my classes could be strictly online I was very relieved. The customer service has been helpful with everything I鈥檝e needed and always gets back to me within 24 hours. I would highly recommend doing a course through career step, especially if you are disabled in anyway, it ha been a life saver for me!

The Career Step team has been very helpful and responsive and was able to connect me to the program and team at FTCC very easily. This is a legitimate program worth exploring if you are considering a career change and wanting to do so online. Taking a class in an onsite location just isn't possible for me given everything that I have been juggling, and the flexibility that this program offers is excellent. The platform is very easy to navigate through and the program is extremely thorough. I feel that I will be well prepared for a medical transcription position once I complete the course. Unfortunately, I have needed some extra time to complete the class, but the Career Step team has been able to offer me that at no charge just for providing a review of their program on this website.

I found CareerStep when I was researching becoming a Medical Coder and hopfully being able to work from home and having more time with my family. I love how I can work at my own pace and really take my time on the harder things; like learning those Medical Terms (because they can be tricky)
I would give them 4.5 stars only because I wish they gave out more coupon codes to apply for extensions. I can't afford the full amount for an extension right now due to a job loss from the pandemic……. Besides that I have REALLY enjoyed my schooling 😀

Very user friendly with great payment options

I鈥檓 currently a student enrolled in the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program offered by Career Step. I鈥檓 nearing the end of my training, and I have to say I鈥檓 very impressed by the thoroughness of the program. I love how flexible the experience has been. The Career Step team has always been prompt and helpful. Here is one of many examples: when I initially signed up for the program, the referral code I entered did not apply my discount. When I informed the billing team, they immediately refunded the amount of the discount. I鈥檓 looking forward to a long, fulfilling career in the future thanks to the professional training I've received from Career Step! Per FTC guidelines, I鈥檓 disclosing that I received an additional month of course access in exchange for my honest review.

Excellent course, easy to access and well designed to provide ample practice at your own pace. Although I have been coding a while, I learned quite a bit in the coding modules. I enjoyed the soft soft skills module that was comprehensive in presenting management and communication skills, Power Point and Excel. I appreciated the overview of legal and HIM issues to be encountered as an auditor. At the end of the course you create and record two videos presenting the results of your "final," charts that you have reviewed, created an Excel worksheet for, calculated the results for, and communicated your recommendations, demonstrating your grasp of Powerpoint and Excel, as well as following what you have learned in how to organize and professionally present your findings to the intended audience. I enjoyed working on the course, on the way the material was presented, and how some of the material was reiterated over several modules, so that you approach material from different angles and create points of reference for yourself so that it all comes together. Well done and would highly recommend.

I love being able to learn at my own pace and do it from the comfort of my own home! Career Step has been awesome to work with. I lost my mom recently and they worked with me to make sure I stayed up to date with my program. It is really easy to follow along with and I cant wait until I finish and I am able to begin my new career!!! I will also receive a 1 month extension to help finish my course for leaving this review.

I feel this online school is easy to follow while making sure you understand what you are learning. The coursework is well laid out and easy to understand. As it is online work an important aspect of the course is availability of the servers and I have never experienced problems with login or server availability.

I enrolled in the transcription course. However, upon signing in on the dashboard all I get is my profile, a receipt and a referral page. There is no course accessible. Nothing to study. No modules. Nothing. I've tried calling. No answer. Closed. I've sent two messages. It's been three days as of today, still no response. In good conscious I would not recommend. I believe I may have made a mistake in purchasing.

The pharmacy technician course contained a lot of material that will be useful on the CPhT exam. Information was presented in an easy to understand format. I would love if they would create a review section before each chapter test. That way you wouldn't have to go back pages to review formulas, etc. My laptop crashed and I didn't have reliable transportation to the local library. I stressing about how I was going to finish my course. Thank God that I was able to get a 1-month access to the course just for doing a simple review.
