Whitebourne in Frimley – great communications – help full staff and lead by top management team.
Was little wary when my father first went into the home – but all my concerns were not an issue. Brilliant – Thank you

My mother in law is in a Care UK home in Mildenhall. She has been assaulted by another resident, contracted Covid19 and was admitted to hospital (at the insistence of my husband) with a chest infection and dangerous levels of dehydration.
She is now "end of life" but the management of Care UK won't allow a visit from her only son until she is 48 hours from death at which time she will be in a coma and unresponsive.
I have nothing else to say……..

My mother went to live in a Care UK nursing home following a stroke in 2018. The home is in Worcestershire and is a lovely, clean, bright environment and most importantly my mother is quite happy there. The staff are very professional and any concerns are dealt with efficiently. If you are looking for a modern care home with young energetic staff then a Care UK home is ideal. Staff are well trained and the homes are built for purpose – lots of en-suite rooms and a variety of social rooms such as a dining room, lounge, library, coffee shop and activity room. Perfectly thought out care accommodation.

Desgusting place to work,no support to permanent staff, loads of agency staff, safety issues overlooked for money, when I started there was no permanent staff assigned to me to do my shadowing time. Management is a joke,no respect between staff members or towards residents.

I got a job at a care uk home in Frimley, Surrey.
I lasted one day and I had to walk out as I was disgusted, ashamed, horrified at the poor management and zero training in this place.
I will never let anyone I know or love stay here.
It鈥檚 all about money and perception to it鈥檚 paying residents families…
Smoke and mirrors.
No safety training whatsoever.
Awful place..AVOID AVOID AVOID

First contact with sales for a hip replacement for my wife (after being told an 18 month minimum wait on NHS) was efficient and caring, up until the first consultation which was paid for in advance (拢98). Actual appointment was appalling, I was not allowed to accompany my wife due to Covid restrictions, which I completely understand, so I assumed my wife would have been well taken care of as she was obviously very worried. My wife was examined, quick manipulation of the joint, by a clinician and then asked to sign a form to go ahead, no discussion about what to expect during or after the operation at all, and when she said she obviously wanted to discuss things with me she was ushered out of the door. I think I was parked outside for less than 15 minutes after dropping her at the door, by contrast when we originally visited Weston General hospital via the NHS we were with the clinician for at least half an hour! The money for this operation is from our life savings and hard earned, so needless to say I will be taking our money elsewhere!!

I worked for Care UK in a care home in Hythe.
Started quite nice, then things seemed to get out of hand. Rather, the business side of it all was showing more than the care it was supposed to provide. I got troubled by several seniors in horrendous ways. Management lied on several occasions and unsupportive, unless you are in a position that highly matters in the business. I feel sorry for the residents as for all the money they paying, they are not getting what many of us would have liked to give as carers. Many staff has left around my time, atmosphere was already scary and I felt totally not trusted, though I was among those who pulled through the worst part of covid and did turn up for every single shift / not like many others! and even took more shifts to help out. However, no real thank you was received and I left feeling top disgusted.
Shiny classy expensive environment, but residents stuck in their rooms see nothing of it.

My Mother stayed at Larklands Ascot, and as far as Care was concerned she was extremely well looked after. However so she should have been, for the money we paid. However on the admin side ( via Head office of Care UK ) it has been a nightmare)..Despite the passing of my Mother on April 23rd 2020, here we are 4 months later and cannot get a correct invoice from them. They said they would check into queries and get back to me. That was probably about beginning of June and they still have not resolved them. When I chase them they are basically telling me to sort out their invoicing and are not the least bit interested. If I rated them on purely on Care I would give 4 and a half stars….On admin from head office I have great difficulty giving them a one

The training was the poorest I've experienced despite being the most time consuming, with the manual handling being particularly dangerously inadequate.

The culture is sterile, oppressive and money driven. The pay is below the average of the industry and breaks are unpaid to seemingly extract every ounce of profit. Thee staffing inadequate while expectation are high and management will not offer support in any situation.

While there did appear to be a desire to invest and train employees it appeared more to utilise what little talent they could retain resulting in the individual being overworked and poorly trained.

There was decent community outreach to bring entertainment however the everyday activities were poor with staff almost fearful to interact with residents least they get reprimanded creating a very sterile atmosphere, that's if one even has time to interact with residents due to paperwork.

With the inadequate training, over expectations and poor pay there is a large turnover of staff.

It a NOT a good care home at all. All style over substance. Is very nice to look at and has some good facilities but the respite care of my mother was well below par. When I went too collect her she was very weak and poorly to the point that I had to call the emergency doctor who said she was in heart failure and she had very swollen legs etc etc it took two weeks of love and Proper care From me to build her back up to the condition she was in before she went there. I spoke to them in a number occasions about their failings and was just fobbed off and received a nasty letter from them saying The issue was closed I was so sad and felt so guilty for putting her in there for ten days Horrible staff Who lie and are lazy and horrible company. Never ever again … I would not even Let them look after a pot plant

I currently work for Care Uk and I love working for them. I work in a custody setting and I can see myself being here for many years.
Management have made me feel so welcome and have helped with anything I鈥檝e needed. Nothing is too much bother.
Highly recommend this company to work for. It is a privilege.

I used to work for care uk. The managers were soo rude, you would say hello or good morning and they would turn away or stare at you up and down and walk off. Nothing was done when we asked for something, such as changing shifts but when they wanted something it would have to be done. Short staff as everyone is leaving because of the way we were treated. Called in sick one day, because i was vomiting, they still called me asking if i can come in a taxi if they pay for it!! It's meant to be 48 hours if I'm sick and i didn't know why i was sick! Anyway, poor management, bad pay, they wouldn't pay us for our breaks and they wouldn't give us any lunch or dinner.

I am appalled at the lack of encouragement and honesty. Only one member of staff let me know my Dad fell over, that member of staff i never saw again. I think she go the sack for telling me to be honest.

They live my Dad like a Zombie in his room, they leave him without drinks and do not want the hastle from him, he has Alzhimers they should expect aggressive behiaviour.

He also has another bruise on him, i am disgusted do not use FERNDOWN MANOR.

I work for care uk for nearly 5 years and thoroughly enjoyed it untill the new management made an entrance. Since they have been there I feel there is a lack of communication between management and staff and when they do speak to them they speak down to them.
The management do not have time to speak to staff or relatives as the door is always closed when you do approach them they are rude.
I am glad I have left and the way they treated me is unacceptable and truely discusting.
I will not recommended anyone to work or live there.

Our relative spent over a year at Britten Court care home and it was not good. It all looks lovely and welcoming when you look at it but please do not be fooled! After only two weeks of being there we noticed problems. Constant lack of staff meant our relative, who was unable to get up on her own, was on numerous times missing breakfast and left stuck in bed until noon. Our relative told us that they were filling her food chart in wrong (and with her having dementia we were unsure if this was true) until one day I actually witnessed this myself so please do listen to your loved ones. There were some very lovely dedicated carers who work there but with continuous lack of staff numbers they were unable to do the basics sometimes like providing clean jugs of water each day etc. The good carers are completely let down by their management. We complained to the Deputy Manager and Manager but they were very uncaring and showed no compassion at all, blaming their staff and not the shortage of them! The kitchen upstairs is not great with dirty cups, cutlery, kettle etc. Food was repeatedly not cut up into small pieces as had been asked to do, so our relative wouldn鈥檛 eat it. Also a big problem was our relatives call Bell was hidden from her a lot. Admittedly she called for staff a lot but the call bell should not be hidden from a very frightened, frail lady who was unable to walk or get up on her own.
The list of negatives could go on but we believe that Care UK only care about how much money they are making. When our complaints to the homes management went unheard we went higher to the Area Management we soon found out that all the management stuck together, even making up lies about incidents that occurred.
The Deputy Manager, Manager, Area Manager and Care Uk management in a whole, fail their RESIDENTS and fail their CARERS too. The carers are understaffed, underpaid and over worked and they deserve better and so did our relative.

Father~in~law stay 3 weeks. Went to collect him. Unable to take him home.
Did not encourage to keep up his walking ,he was walking previously. had no choice but to pay for more weeks. I spent 5 days getting him to walk. sat through meals with him ,and saw why he had lost 6LB in weight. I saw no encouragement apart from one or two dedicated eve staff. the other days staff just took it away ,just said you don't want it and put it in the bin. weight loss not surprising. No cutting into manageable pieces, offer of spoon instead of struggling with a knife and fork. most put out when i asked for a spoon, Dad managed all 3 courses with my help all week." Food was excellent". His tooth paste and rinse not touched, 3 weeks of no help to clean teeth, complained twice before it got done. Residents tell the family they don't brush my teeth," please believe them they do not". Its a shame as the building is bright clean that sold it to me, At the end of the 1st week dad went down with dehydration & pneumonia,Hospitalized. That was the last straw. We decided he was not going back . Cleared his room soiled clothing urine/ blood was left in the room for 2 days the smell so bad, housekeeping gave me 2 bags to seal it..Someone said before all they care about is money, It came to the refund, Charged 2 weeks for 1 week, I had no contract signed, was not told prior to stay. I wish i had only paid 1 week at a time, It took 2 months to get part of it back, yet if you don't pay in advance they charge interest. After all its their fault Dad had to stay, had his care been up to standard.
As i told a member of staff there is a difference between encouraging .residence and forcing them
Beware: check dates be clear on charges, i had to chase his pocket money of 拢90 not spent, that wasn't in the refund either.
I was a well trained carer, and know how things should be done, as for what i saw, residence were not having the care they deserve.
We are still chasing Dads money.
NOTE: No Rude conduct was experienced

My wife and I placed her father in a Care UK home . The staff are brilliant but the admin and especially the management are aloof and out of touch with everybody, their only concern seems to be money. I raised three questions with Care UK about six weeks ago and am still awaiting answers, keep reiterating the points and keep being told that the home manager will contact my wife and nothing, talk to them again and told it will take them 20 days to answer and they have had 6 weeks.

I can not praise the caring staff enough and the home it self is good and clean but the management are not at all interested in you, so be warned that it is all about the money. Told us it was 拢3400pm when we visited for a viewing which is a reasonable price. When we actually came to place him they wanted 拢3400 up front plus 拢1700 admin fees ( for what they will not say ) and another 拢1700 as a deposit of some kind which is refundable should he leave but we were told by the assistant manager ( in answer to a question ) that if he dies in the home it is not refundable as he did not leave. I have raised this as a question as well, as our contract states different, but they will not answer this either and also they will not explain why all these additional charges are not mentioned at visit and only become apparent when you are at a point of no return.

By all means feel free to contact Had Office but they will just pass it back to the home and they in turn will just ignore you. Such an uncaring attitude at a stressful time for us and any family is just what you do not want.
